## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

Scrape Zillow listings for any city, ZIP code or Zillow search URL: homes for sale, for rent or recently sold. Type a location or paste a Zillow search link with your own filters, and the Actor returns one clean row per listing: price, beds, baths, square feet, home type, full address and coordinates, Zestimate and rent Zestimate, days on Zillow, broker, photo, status and flags such as new construction, for sale by owner, open house, video and 3D tour. Up to 820 listings per search in ranking order. Schedule it to catch new listings the moment they appear: investor deal flow, comps, market research, lead generation for agents and lenders.

No API key, no browser. You pay $0.002 per listing.

### What you get

One Dataset row per listing:

- `zpid`, `url`, `status` (FOR_SALE, FOR_RENT, SOLD...), `statusText`, `position`.
- `price`, `priceText`, `currency`, `zestimate`, `rentZestimate`, `taxAssessedValue`.
- `beds`, `baths`, `area` (sqft), `lotArea`, `lotAreaUnit`, `homeType`.
- `address`, `street`, `city`, `state`, `zipcode`, `latitude`, `longitude`.
- `daysOnZillow`, `brokerName`, `image`, `hasVideo`, `has3DModel`, `isFeatured`, `isNewConstruction`, `isForSaleByOwner`, `isOpenHouse`.
- `location`, `listingType`, `isNew` (`true` for listings that were not in the previous run of the same search).

For the full page of a listing (price history, tax history, schools, photos, agent and facts) send the `url` column to **Zillow Property Scraper**.

### How to use it

1. Open the **Input** tab.
2. Add **Locations**: a city with state (`Austin, TX`), a ZIP code (`78725`) or a Zillow search URL copied from your browser with any filters (price, beds, home type, map area).
3. Pick the **Listing type** (for sale, for rent, recently sold) and **Max listings per search**.
4. Click **Start** and export the rows as JSON, CSV or Excel.
5. Schedule it (for example every 6 hours) and connect a webhook to the rows with `isNew: true`.

Zillow limits how fast one source can read its pages, so the Actor spaces its requests: count on about 5 seconds per page of 41 listings.

### Use it as an API

```bash
curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/aolmo~zillow-listings/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=YOUR_TOKEN" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"locations": ["78725"], "listingType": "for-rent", "maxResults": 41}'
```

### FAQ

**Can I use my own Zillow filters?** Yes: set the filters on zillow.com and paste the URL of the results page; the Actor pages through it.

**How many listings per search?** Zillow shows at most 20 pages of 41 listings (820). For more, split the area into ZIP codes or draw smaller map areas.

**Why do some runs end with errors?** Zillow rate-limits every reader. The Actor spaces and retries its requests, but on very large lists some searches can come back with an error; run them again later.

**Where is the data stored between runs?** In a Key-Value Store of your account named `micro-saas-state-zillow-listings`, one key per search.

# Actor input Schema

## `locations` (type: `array`):

One per line: a city with state (Austin, TX), a ZIP code (78725) or a Zillow search URL with your own filters (https://www.zillow.com/austin-tx/...).

## `listingType` (type: `string`):

For cities and ZIP codes (Zillow URLs keep their own filters).

## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):

Up to 820 (20 pages of 41); also caps what you pay. Zillow limits the speed: count on about 5 seconds per page.

## `product` (type: `string`):

Internal. Leave as is.
