## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Liquor License Scraper – New Licenses & Applications from CA ABC, NY SLA, TX TABC

### What is Liquor License Scraper?

Liquor License Scraper pulls **newly issued liquor licenses and pending new license applications** from the official alcohol regulators of California (ABC), New York (SLA) and Texas (TABC) and returns them in one normalized dataset. Pending applications show up weeks before a bar, restaurant or liquor store opens. Built for **beverage distributors, POS and restaurant-tech vendors, insurers, food-service suppliers and agencies**.

### What data can I extract?

`state`, `recordType` (issued / application), `licenseNumber`, `licenseType`, `status`, `businessName`, `ownerName`, `address`, `city`, `zip`, `issueDate`, `expirationDate`, `mailingAddress` and `escrow` (CA), and `sourceUrl`.

### How much does it cost to scrape liquor licenses?

Pay per result: **$0.004 per license** ($4 per 1,000), no monthly rental and no start fee. The 20-record prefilled run costs about $0.08, well inside Apify's free monthly credit.

### Why use it

- **Catch openings early:** pending applications appear weeks before a venue opens.
- **One schema for three states:** CA, NY and TX use the same normalized fields.
- **"New since" date filter:** schedule daily or weekly runs and pull only new records.
- **Filters:** city, county and license type (for example `47` / `Eating Place` in CA, or `Restaurant` in NY).
- **Includes escrow and mailing address (CA):** useful for reaching owners during a license transfer.

### Sources

| State | Issued licenses | New applications |
|---|---|---|
| **California ABC** | Daily Report of Issued Licenses | Daily Report of New Applications |
| **New York SLA** | Current Active Licenses (data.ny.gov), filtered by original issue date | Current Pending Licenses (data.ny.gov), filtered by received date |
| **Texas TABC** | TABC License Information (data.texas.gov), filtered by original issue date | Pending Original New License Applications (data.texas.gov) |

### Try it free in 1 click

The input form is **prefilled with a small, working example**. Press **Start** without changing anything: the run returns 20 recent liquor licenses and applications from CA, NY and TX. Our test run of exactly this input finished in about 6 seconds with 20 results. At $0.004 per license that is about $0.08, which fits inside the free monthly credit of Apify's free plan. Then swap in your own values.

```
### Typical volume
For 2026-09-28 to 2026-10-09: CA had 344 issued licenses and 259 applications, NY had 1,197 and 168, and TX had 349 and 373.
### Notes
- California reports are published each business day, and the Actor fetches them day by day.
- New York's "issued" records are active licenses whose original issue date falls in your window. Renewals are excluded.
- These are public records as published by each agency.
**Keywords:** liquor license scraper, new liquor licenses, ABC license list, California ABC daily report, NY SLA licenses, TABC license data, new restaurant leads, bar openings, alcohol distributor leads, beverage sales prospecting.
### Use it as an MCP tool (Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT, any AI agent)
This Actor works as a tool in the [Apify MCP server](https://mcp.apify.com), so an AI agent can call it directly and you pay per result, the same as a normal run. Add this server URL to any MCP client:
```
https://mcp.apify.com/?tools=appetizing_horsefly/liquor-license-feed
```
Sign in with your Apify account (or pass your Apify API token as a Bearer header). The agent reads the input fields above from the Actor's input schema. Example request to the agent: "List new liquor license applications in Los Angeles County from the past week."
# Actor input Schema
Licensing agencies to pull.
## `recordTypes` (type: `array`):
Newly issued licenses and/or new pending applications.
## `sinceDate` (type: `string`):
Issue/application date on or after. Empty = last 14 days. CA is fetched day-by-day (max ~190 business days).
## `cityContains` (type: `string`):
Optional text to match in the premises city, for example "Austin". Case-insensitive. Leave empty for all cities.
## `countyContains` (type: `string`):
Optional filter (NY, TX).
## `licenseTypeContains` (type: `string`):
Code or description, e.g. 47, 'Eating Place', 'Restaurant', MB.
## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):
Maximum number of license records to return across all states. 0 means no limit. You are charged per record returned. Default 100 keeps a first try cheap; set 0 for no cap.
