## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## New Business Filings Scraper – New LLCs & Corporations from CO, CT, NY, OR

### What is New Business Filings Scraper?

New Business Filings Scraper pulls **newly formed LLCs, corporations and partnerships** (plus foreign companies newly registered to do business) from the official Secretary of State open-data portals of Colorado, Connecticut, New York and Oregon, in one normalized schema. No login, no CAPTCHA. Built for **lenders, insurance agents, accountants, payroll and merchant-services providers, web designers and B2B sales teams** who sell to brand-new businesses.

### What data can I extract?

`state`, `entityId`, `businessName`, `entityType`, `entityKind` (llc / corporation / partnership / nonprofit / other), `isForeign`, `jurisdictionOfFormation`, `formationDate`, `status`, `principalAddress`, `principalCity`, `principalState`, `principalZip`, `mailingAddress`, `registeredAgentName`, `registeredAgentAddress`, `county`, `email` and NAICS (CT), and `sourceUrl`.

### How much does it cost to scrape new business filings?

Pay per result: **$0.003 per record** ($3 per 1,000), no monthly rental and no start fee. The 20-record prefilled run costs about $0.06, well inside Apify's free monthly credit.

### Why use it

- **Reach businesses on day one:** new companies need banking, insurance, accounting, payroll, websites, equipment and funding.
- **One schema for four states:** CO, CT, NY and OR use the same fields, including a simple `entityKind` (llc / corporation / partnership / nonprofit / other).
- **"New since" date filter:** schedule the Actor and pull only filings made since your last run.
- **Filters:** entity kind, foreign vs. domestic, name keyword (`construction`, `dental`, `holdings`...) and city.
- **No login and no CAPTCHA:** data comes from the states' official open-data APIs (data.colorado.gov, data.ct.gov, data.ny.gov, data.oregon.gov).
- **Pay per result:** you are charged only for records delivered.

### Use cases

1. **Lead generation:** new-business lists for insurance, banking, accounting, payroll, POS and web-design outreach.
2. **Lending and MCA:** build a pipeline of new entities to prospect as they mature.
3. **Registered-agent and compliance services:** see who is forming entities and which agents they use.
4. **Market research:** track business formation trends by state, city and industry.
5. **CRM enrichment and monitoring:** get alerted when a new entity matching a keyword is formed.

### Try it free in 1 click

The input form is **prefilled with a small, working example**. Press **Start** without changing anything: the run returns 20 newly formed LLCs and corporations from CO, CT, NY and OR. Our test run of exactly this input finished in about 7 seconds with 20 results. At list price that is about $0.06, which fits inside the free monthly credit of Apify's free plan. Then swap in your own values.

### Data notes

- **Colorado:** Business Entities dataset, updated daily. It can include filings with a future effective date; use `untilDate` to exclude them.
- **Connecticut:** Business Registry master dataset, updated nightly. It includes the business email and NAICS industry when the filer provided them.
- **New York:** Active Corporations dataset (DOS). It provides the service-of-process address (in `mailingAddress`), county and registered agent, but no principal office address. Only entities that are still active are listed.
- **Oregon:** Active Businesses dataset. Address and agent rows are merged into one record per registry number. Assumed business names are tagged `entityKind: "other"`.
- These are public records as published by each state.

### Output

The dataset uses the **overview** table view. The `STATS` record in the key-value store shows, per state, how many source records were found and how many were delivered after filters.

**Keywords:** new business filings, new LLC list, new business leads, newly registered businesses, Secretary of State business data, new corporation filings, business formation data, Colorado new businesses, New York new LLCs, Connecticut business registry, Oregon new business list.

### Use it as an MCP tool (Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT, any AI agent)

This Actor works as a tool in the [Apify MCP server](https://mcp.apify.com), so an AI agent can call it directly and you pay per result, the same as a normal run. Add this server URL to any MCP client:

```
https://mcp.apify.com/?tools=appetizing_horsefly/new-business-filings
```

Sign in with your Apify account (or pass your Apify API token as a Bearer header). The agent reads the input fields above from the Actor's input schema. Example request to the agent: "Find new LLCs formed in Oregon yesterday with a principal address in Portland."
