## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Shopify Store Product Scraper: all variants, all images, correct currency

**Export every product from any Shopify store to JSON, CSV or Excel.** You get every variant, every image, SKUs, compare-at (sale) prices, stock status and the store's real currency. It reads Shopify's public `products.json` feed, so there is no browser, no login and no proxy, and it is fast and cheap.

Built for **competitor price monitoring, product catalog imports, dropshipping research and e-commerce market analysis**.

### Why this instead of a generic e-commerce scraper?

Users of generic e-commerce scrapers complain about wrong currencies, missing variants and image lists cut off at 7. This Actor:

- **Uses the correct currency.** It is read from each store's own `/cart.js`, not guessed.
- **Returns all variants**, with SKU, price, compare-at price, `onSale` and availability.
- **Returns all images**, with no cap.
- **Tracks changes daily.** `onlyChangedSinceLastRun` outputs only new products and price or stock changes.
- **Never charges for nothing.** Duplicates and unchanged products are free. If no store can be read, the run fails loudly with the reason.
- **Hard caps and timeouts.** `maxItems`, `maxProductsPerStore`, a per-request timeout with retries, and polite pacing.

### Try it free in 1 click

The input form is **prefilled with a small, working example**. Press **Start** without changing anything: the run returns 10 products (all variants, prices, images) from allbirds.com. Our test run of exactly this input finished in about 3 seconds with 10 results. At list price that is about $0.01, which fits inside the free monthly credit of Apify's free plan. Then swap in your own values.

Prefilled input:

```json
{
  "storeUrls": [
    "https://www.allbirds.com"
  ],
  "maxItems": 10
}
```

### Sample output

Real rows from the prefilled run on 2026-10-14 (5 of 10 results shown; long fields trimmed). Download the full dataset as JSON, CSV or Excel.

| storeName | title | productType | priceMin | currency | variantCount | available |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Allbirds | Women's Allbirds Flip Flop - Dusty Pink | Shoes | 25 | USD | 7 | yes |
| Allbirds | Men's Canvas Runner NZ - Deep Navy Stripes (Blizzard S… | Shoes | 100 | USD | 13 | yes |
| Allbirds | Women's Canvas Runner NZ - Deep Navy Stripes (Blizzard… | Shoes | 100 | USD | 13 | yes |
| Allbirds | Men's Cruiser Terry - Warm White (Warm White Sole) | Shoes | 115 | USD | 13 | yes |
| Allbirds | Men's Cruiser Slip On - Natural Black (Blizzard Sole) | Shoes | 100 | USD | 13 | yes |

### Input (copy-paste)

```json
{
  "storeUrls": ["https://www.allbirds.com", "kith.com"],
  "outputMode": "product",
  "maxItems": 1000,
  "onlyChangedSinceLastRun": false
}
```

Price monitoring: set `"outputMode": "variant"` and `"onlyChangedSinceLastRun": true`, then schedule the Actor daily.

### API (copy-paste)

```bash
curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/appetizing_horsefly~shopify-product-feed/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=$APIFY_TOKEN" \
  -H 'Content-Type: application/json' -d '{"storeUrls":["kith.com"],"maxItems":100}'
```

### Output example

```json
{"title":"Women's Allbirds Flip Flop - Dusty Pink","vendor":"Allbirds","currency":"USD","priceMin":45,"priceMax":45,"available":true,"variantCount":7,"imageCount":5,"variants":[{"sku":"...","price":45,"compareAtPrice":null,"onSale":false,"available":true,"option1":"5"}]}
```

A per-store report (status, product count, currency) is saved as `SUMMARY` in the key-value store.

### Pricing

Pay per event: **$0.0015 per dataset item** ($1.50 per 1,000 products). No charge for duplicates, unchanged products, or stores that fail.

### FAQ

- **Does it work on non-Shopify sites?** No. Those stores are reported as `NOT A SHOPIFY STORE`, and you are not charged.
- **Limit:** Shopify serves at most 25,000 products per store through `products.json`. Bigger catalogs are flagged in `SUMMARY`.
- **Is this allowed?** `products.json` is a public endpoint that Shopify serves on every storefront. Respect each store's own terms and use the data for analysis.

### Use it as an MCP tool (Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT, any AI agent)

This Actor works as a tool in the [Apify MCP server](https://mcp.apify.com), so an AI agent can call it directly and you pay per result, the same as a normal run. Add this server URL to any MCP client:

```
https://mcp.apify.com/?tools=appetizing_horsefly/shopify-product-feed
```

Sign in with your Apify account (or pass your Apify API token as a Bearer header). The agent reads the input fields above from the Actor's input schema. Example request to the agent: "Get every product and variant price from allbirds.com, and on later runs only what changed."

# Actor input Schema

## `storeUrls` (type: `array`):

Store homepages or domains, e.g. kith.com or https://www.allbirds.com. Duplicates are removed.

## `outputMode` (type: `string`):

Product rows include a variants array; variant rows are flat with product fields repeated.

## `maxProductsPerStore` (type: `integer`):

Stop each store after this many products. 0 = all.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Run stops after this many rows in total. You are never billed for more. 0 = no cap.

## `onlyChangedSinceLastRun` (type: `boolean`):

Output only products that are new or whose price, availability or content changed since the previous run (remembered in a named key-value store). Ideal for daily price monitoring.

## `stateStoreName` (type: `string`):

Named key-value store for change tracking.

## `includeDescription` (type: `boolean`):

Include plain-text product description.

## `requestTimeoutSecs` (type: `integer`):

Per-request timeout; each page is retried 3 times with backoff.
