## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Rightmove To Rent Search Scraper

Collect public Rightmove property search listings with every nonempty field returned in the page's structured response. Images, agent information, prices, location and media remain structured for export.

### Start a run

Enter a place such as **Manchester** and choose your optional filters. A Rightmove location code such as `REGION^787` is also accepted. Do not enter a website URL as the location.

```json
{
  "location": "Manchester",
  "maxItems": 30,
  "maxPages": 2
}
```

The input form includes working prefills or clear examples. Optional price/bedroom filters stay blank unless you set them, so the example does not silently narrow results.

| Input | Meaning |
| --- | --- |
| Location | Town, city, postcode or area name, for example Leeds or SW1A. A code like REGION^87490 also works. |
| Minimum rent (GBP pcm) | Lowest rent. Optional. Example: 500. Leave blank for no limit. |
| Maximum rent (GBP pcm) | Highest rent. Optional. Example: 1500. Leave blank for no limit. |
| Minimum bedrooms | Fewest bedrooms. Optional. Example: 1. Leave blank for no limit. |
| Maximum bedrooms | Most bedrooms. Optional. Example: 3. Leave blank for no limit. |
| Search radius (miles) | Radius around the place. |
| Furnishing | Optional furnishing filters. Example: furnished. Leave empty to include all furnishing types. |
| Added within | Only listings added within this many days. |
| Maximum results | Stop after this many unique records. A cap is not a promise that this many exist. |
| Maximum pages | Maximum result pages to read. |

Bad inputs, unknown locations, malformed/foreign listing URLs, removed listings and empty results finish successfully with a clear message and valid examples. Invalid inputs do not generate a result event. If some listings/pages are unavailable after data has been saved, the run retains its results and explains the partial outcome. Genuine first-request infrastructure blocks/outages or storage failures can still fail the run.

### Results

Every nonempty returned property field is retained, with readable field names. Null values and empty strings are omitted; zero counts, false flags and populated lists/objects remain intact; empty containers are omitted. There are no placeholder columns for fields never returned. Listing identifiers are strings for stable deduplication.

| Field group | Included information when returned |
| --- | --- |
| `propertyImage` | Main property image URL, displayed as the first thumbnail column. |
| Property | ID, bedrooms, bathrooms, property subtype, transaction/channel, status, tags, feature flags and listing history. |
| Prices | Complete price objects, qualifiers, currency/frequency and displayed prices. |
| Address/location | Address or display address, coordinates, postcode components, street-view and location metadata. |
| Images/media | All images, captions, image sizes, full floorplan/virtual-tour objects and available media. |
| Agent | Complete customer/branch/brand data, logos and returned contact details. |
| Other fields | Every other nonempty structured property field, including newly returned fields. |
| `url`, `scrapedAt` | Listing link and collection time in UTC. |
| Search context | Search location and complete result-page metadata in RUN_SUMMARY.pageMetadata. |

Search records preserve all returned images, not just the first one. Identical repeated image lists and exact duplicate virtual-tour entries are stored once, while distinct main-image/map metadata remains. No individual listing-detail pages are fetched. To obtain fields absent from search results, use a property-details actor separately.

Arrays/objects remain structured in JSON; spreadsheet exports may represent them as JSON strings. Source information is not invented, and internal request URLs are not added to dataset records or progress logs.

### Progress and pricing

Each accepted unique listing is saved and its `result-item` event submitted immediately. Duplicates within a run do not create extra result events. The run summary reports saved records, requests, pages and the final outcome. See the current Store pricing panel for actual prices; platform usage/minimum charges may apply even if no listings are saved.

### Limits and responsible use

Maximum results is a ceiling, not a guarantee. Listings can change, be removed or become unavailable. Search visibility and pagination limits can return fewer records than a site's reported total. Public access does not grant unlimited reuse rights: respect applicable terms, copyright and privacy rules. This actor is independent and is not endorsed by Rightmove.
