## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## StepStone Jobs Scraper: German Job Listings by Keyword and Location

Scrape StepStone Germany job search results in JSON, CSV or Excel. Run several keyword and location searches in one run. No login, no cookies, built for German labor-market research, lead lists and job feeds.

### What you get

Job title, company, location, salary where shown, date posted, work-from-home flag, short description snippet, job link and the search keyword and location that found it. Duplicate jobs across searches are removed.

### Why use this actor

- **Keyword and location combinations.** Every keyword is searched with every location in one run.
- **Radius control.** Search a city plus up to 200 km around it.
- **Fast and cookie-free.** No browser and no account.
- **Clean fields** ready for spreadsheets and dashboards.

### Use cases

- German labor-market and salary research
- Recruiting and talent-market mapping
- Job boards and newsletters for the German market
- Competitor hiring tracking

### Input

| Field | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| Job keywords (`keywords`) | Job titles or skills to search, for example "data engineer" or "pflegefachkraft". One search per keyword. |
| Locations (`locations`) | German cities or regions, for example Berlin or München. Leave empty to search all of Germany. Each keyword runs once per location. |
| Radius (km) (`radiusKm`) | Search radius around each location in kilometers. Used only when a location is set. Default: `30`. Range: 0-200. |
| Max jobs per search (`maxJobsPerSearch`) | Maximum number of jobs collected for each keyword and location combination (25 jobs per page). Default: `100`. Range: 1-2500. |
| Exact matches only (`mainResultsOnly`) | Keep only the main results. When off, StepStone also adds related and nearby jobs after the exact matches (marked in the section field). Default: `false`. |

### Pricing

You only pay for jobs that are returned.

### Tips

- Use German terms for German jobs, for example pflegefachkraft.
- Start with a small maximum, then raise it.
- Schedule runs daily and compare results to find new jobs.

### FAQ

**Why do I see fewer jobs than the maximum?** The site returns only the jobs it lists for that search.

**Does it search the full description?** Search is done by StepStone for your keyword and location, so matching follows its own relevance rules.

### Limits

Germany only. Results depend on what StepStone shows for each search. Requests can be rate-limited or refused, and a small test is not proof of sustained-volume performance. Check the site terms before collecting or republishing data and use it lawfully.
