## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

# README

## EU Product Safety Recall Intelligence

Search public EU Safety Gate alerts for recalled products, risks, corrective measures, and product identifiers.

### What you get in each row

Each row contains the alert identifier and reference, product and brand details,
risk types, publication and modification dates when published, the official alert
URL, retrieval timestamp, source label, and the original public attributes.

### Example output

```json
{
  "alert_id": 12345,
  "reference": "A12/00001/25",
  "product_name": "Example product",
  "brands": ["Example brand"],
  "risk_types": ["Chemical"],
  "publication_date": "2025-08-28",
  "source_url": "https://ec.europa.eu/safety-gate-alerts/screen/webReport/alertDetail/12345",
  "retrieved_at": "2025-08-28T12:00:00Z"
}
```

### Pricing examples

The launch price is **$1.90 per 1,000 alert rows**. Apify platform compute and storage charges may apply separately. Start with a small keyword or category query before scaling.

### CRM and BI use cases

- Monitor supplier, brand, and category recall signals.
- Enrich product risk and compliance review workflows.
- Import alerts into CRM, procurement, warehouse, or BI systems.
- Track recurring risk patterns by country and product category.

### Why official Safety Gate data

This Actor uses the European Commission Safety Gate service and keeps official alert references and source URLs. That is more auditable than copying search snippets or scraping third-party summaries.

### Input guidance

Use a required keyword of at least two characters, optional publication years,
and `maxAlerts`. Set the maximum to the smallest useful number to keep runs
predictable. A query can validly return no rows.

### Important limitations

Safety Gate records are public notices and are not a substitute for product testing, legal advice, or a regulatory determination. Verify the official alert before taking action. Arclay is not affiliated with or endorsed by the European Commission.
