## Pricing

from $2.55 / 1,000 results

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## GovernmentJobs.com Scraper - State & Local Government Jobs

Public-sector jobs at US cities, counties, states, school districts and special districts from GovernmentJobs.com
(NEOGOV), the main job board for state and local government. About 33,000 open jobs at any time: police and fire,
nursing and public health, engineering, IT, finance, parks, utilities, administration and more.

Pairs well with a federal jobs feed (USAJobs) for a complete picture of US government hiring.

### What you get (one row per job)

| Field | Example |
|---|---|
| `title`, `employer`, `department` | `Registered Nurse`, `McLennan County (TX)`, `Public Health` |
| `job_number`, `job_type`, `employment_type` | `10794`, `Full-Time`, `FULL_TIME` |
| `location`, `address`, `state`, `postal_code` | `Waco, TX`, `TX`, `76196-0105` |
| `salary_min`, `salary_max`, `salary_unit`, `salary_text` | `62920`, `78665.6`, `YEAR`, `$62,920.00 - $78,665.60 Annually` |
| `posted_date`, `close_date`, `closes_continuous`, `closes_in` | `2026-02-15`, `2026-10-31`, `false`, `Closes in 2 weeks` |
| `description` (plain text), `employer_website`, `job_url` | |

### How to use it

- **Newest 50 jobs** (the default): just run it.
- **Every nursing job in Texas**: Keyword `nurse`, Location `Texas`, clear **Max results**.
- **All police jobs in California, fast**: Keyword `police officer`, Location `California`, turn off **Include full job
  details**.
- **Daily new jobs**: schedule the same search with **Max results** cleared; with `mode: auto` each run returns only new
and changed jobs, plus jobs taken down since the last run (`change_type: "delisted"`).

### Input

| Field | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| `keyword` | empty (all jobs) | Search words, as in the site's search box, e.g. `nurse` or `police officer`. |
| `location` | empty (whole US) | A state, city or county, e.g. `Texas`, `Austin, TX` or `Orange County, CA`. |
| `includeDetails` | `true` | Open each job page for the description, job number, department, dates and structured salary. Off = a fast list from the search results only. |
| `maxItems` | `50` | Stop after this many jobs. Clear it for every job in the search. |
| `mode` | `auto` | `auto`: an uncapped repeat of the same search returns only new and changed jobs plus delisted ones. `full`: every job. `incremental`: only new and changed. |
| `concurrency` | `10` | Pages fetched in parallel, each through a different proxy IP. |
| `impersonate` | `chrome` | Browser fingerprint. Change only if requests start failing. |
| `proxyConfiguration` | Apify Proxy (datacenter) | Keep it on; see below. Proxy traffic is included in the price. |

Every row also has `change_type` (`new`, `changed`, `unchanged` or `delisted`) and `scraped_at`.

### Good to know

- Speed: a state like California (~6,400 jobs) takes roughly 30-40 minutes from the search results alone; full details
add about one job page per second. The whole board takes many hours, so narrow by keyword or location, or raise the
  run timeout. Each search is walked in three sort orders, because the site's paging skips jobs in any single order;
that finds about 99% of the jobs a search reports.
- Keep the proxy on (the default): requests are spread over many IPs so the site keeps answering.
- `salary_text` is the pay exactly as the employer wrote it. With details on, `salary_min`/`salary_max` come from the
posting's structured data, which is sometimes stated per hour even when the posting quotes biweekly pay.
- `close_date` is empty for continuous postings (`closes_continuous: true`).

# Actor input Schema

## `keyword` (type: `string`):

Search words, e.g. nurse, police officer, civil engineer. Leave empty for every job.

## `location` (type: `string`):

A state, city or county, e.g. Texas, Austin, TX or Orange County, CA. Leave empty for the whole US.

## `includeDetails` (type: `boolean`):

Open each job page for the description, job number, department, opening/closing dates and structured salary (about 1-2 jobs per second). Turn off for a fast list from the search results only (title, employer, location, type, salary, closes in).

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many jobs. Defaults to 50 for a quick preview; clear it (null) for every match. All ~33,000 jobs with details take several hours; narrow by keyword or location for faster runs.

## `mode` (type: `string`):

"auto": the first run returns every job; later runs of the same search (maxItems cleared) return only new and changed jobs plus jobs taken down since (change_type "delisted"). "full": every job. "incremental": only new/changed.

## `concurrency` (type: `integer`):

Pages fetched in parallel, each through a different proxy IP.

## `impersonate` (type: `string`):

curl_cffi browser fingerprint; defaults to "chrome".

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Keep Apify Proxy on: the site blocks an IP that fetches quickly, so every request goes out through a different proxy IP. The default (datacenter) works; proxy traffic is included in the price.
