## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Apple App Store Reviews Scraper - Multi-Country

Scrape **Apple App Store (iPhone / iPad) reviews**: **star rating, title, text, date, app version and votes**. Give an App Store URL, a numeric app ID or simply the **app name**, pick one or many countries and get the reviews as JSON, CSV or Excel.

- **$1.50 per 1,000 reviews**, no monthly rent.
- **Many countries in one run**: Apple publishes up to 500 recent reviews per country, so use `["us","gb","ca","au"]` or `"all"` (50 biggest stores) to get far more.
- Find apps **by name** ("Duolingo"), no need to look up IDs.
- Filter by **stars** and **date**; sort by most recent or most helpful.
- Uses Apple's official public feeds: no browser, no proxy, no login. Very fast.
- Never fails on bad input: unknown apps, wrong country codes and typos become free `status` rows.

### Use cases

- **iOS review monitoring**: new 1-star reviews every day, per country.
- **Competitor research**: compare complaints and praise between apps and markets.
- **Sentiment analysis / AI summaries** of user feedback; release QA by `appVersion`.
- **ASO and localisation**: what users in each country say.

### Input

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `apps` | `https://apps.apple.com/us/app/whatsapp-messenger/id310633997`, `310633997` or `WhatsApp` |
| `countries` | `["us"]` (default: the country in the URL), many codes, or `["all"]` |
| `maxReviewsPerApp` | Default 200, across all countries; `0` = no limit |
| `sort` | `most_recent` (default) or `most_helpful` |
| `ratings` | Only these stars, e.g. `["1","2"]` |
| `onlyReviewsNewerThan` | Skip older reviews |

```json
{
  "apps": ["https://apps.apple.com/us/app/whatsapp-messenger/id310633997", "Duolingo"],
  "countries": ["us", "gb", "ca"],
  "maxReviewsPerApp": 1000
}
```

### Output

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `appId`, `appTitle`, `developer`, `appUrl` | App info |
| `country` | Store the review comes from |
| `reviewId` | Apple review ID |
| `rating` | 1-5 stars |
| `title`, `text` | Review title and body |
| `date` | Review time (ISO) |
| `appVersion` | Version reviewed |
| `voteSum`, `voteCount` | Helpfulness votes |
| `userName` | Public nickname of the reviewer |
| `searchTerm` | The name you typed, when the app was found by name (check `appTitle` is the app you meant) |

```json
{
  "appId": "310633997",
  "appTitle": "WhatsApp Messenger",
  "country": "us",
  "rating": 4,
  "title": "Bang",
  "text": "It's a bang g",
  "date": "2026-10-18T17:46:45.000Z",
  "appVersion": "26.40.77"
}
```

#### Status rows (free)

`invalid_input`, `not_found` (no app with that ID / name), `no_reviews`, `failed`.

### Pricing

Pay per event: **$0.0015 per result** ($1.50 per 1,000 saved rows). Each saved data row is one `result` event. Status rows, error rows and empty lookups are not charged. The run stops when it reaches the maximum cost per run. No Apify proxy and no login.

### Limits

Apple's public review feed returns at most **500 most recent (or most helpful) reviews per country**. Add more countries for more reviews. Older reviews beyond that are not available through public feeds.

Reads public data from Apple's official RSS feeds. Use the data responsibly.

# Actor input Schema

## `apps` (type: `array`):

App Store URLs (https://apps.apple.com/us/app/.../id310633997), numeric IDs (310633997) or app names ("Duolingo").

## `countries` (type: `array`):

Two-letter App Store countries ("us", "gb", "de", "tr" ...). Apple shows up to 500 recent reviews per country, so more countries = more reviews. Use "all" for the 50 biggest stores. Default: the country in the URL, else "us".

## `maxReviewsPerApp` (type: `integer`):

Across all countries. 0 = no limit.

## `sort` (type: `string`):

Order of reviews.

## `ratings` (type: `array`):

Optional, e.g. \["1", "2"].

## `onlyReviewsNewerThan` (type: `string`):

Skip reviews older than this date.

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

How many apps are scraped at the same time.
