## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

### App Store Scraper - iOS App Details, Ratings & Top Charts

Scrape **Apple App Store apps**:

- **Basics**: title, bundle ID, **developer**, seller and website.
- **Ratings and price**: **average rating and ratings count** (overall and for the current version), **price and currency**, genres and content rating.
- **Versions and specs**: **version, release date, last update date**, release notes, size, minimum iOS version and languages.
- **Media**: icon, iPhone and iPad screenshots, and the full description.

You can find apps by **App Store URL, numeric ID or bundle ID**, by **search term**, by **developer**, or from the **top free / top paid charts** of any country. The data comes from Apple's official public lookup and search services, so runs are fast and reliable.

- **$1.50 per 1,000 apps** with all fields. Status rows are free.
- Works for any App Store country code (`us`, `de`, `tr`, ...). No API key, no login, 256 MB.

### What you can use it for

- **App market research and ASO**: who ranks for a keyword, with what title, price and rating.
- **Chart tracking**: daily snapshots of the top free / paid iPhone apps per country.
- **Competitor monitoring**: version and update frequency, rating trends and price changes.
- **Lead lists**: developers and their websites.

### Input

| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| `apps` | App URLs, numeric IDs, bundle IDs or developer URLs |
| `searchTerms` | Keywords, up to 200 apps each |
| `charts` | `top-free` and/or `top-paid` |
| `maxAppsPerSearch` | Apps per search / chart |
| `country` | Store country, e.g. `us`, `de`, `tr` |

### Output example

```json
{
  "type": "app",
  "appId": "324684580",
  "bundleId": "com.spotify.client",
  "title": "Spotify: Music and Podcasts",
  "developer": "Spotify",
  "score": 4.77,
  "ratingsCount": 42680277,
  "price": 0,
  "currency": "USD",
  "primaryGenre": "Music",
  "version": "9.1.92",
  "updatedAt": "2026-10-19T13:57:56Z",
  "source": "app",
  "country": "us"
}
```

### Status rows (free)

Problems never fail the run. Instead you get a free `status` row: `invalid_url`, `app_not_found` (not in that country's store), `developer_not_found`, `no_results`, `invalid_input` or `fetch_failed`.

### Pricing

Pay per event: **$0.0015 per result** ($1.50 per 1,000 saved rows). Each saved data row is one `result` event. Status rows, error rows and empty lookups are not charged. The run stops when it reaches the maximum cost per run. No Apify proxy and no login.

### FAQ

**How do the different inputs work?**
`apps` accepts App Store URLs, numeric IDs and bundle IDs; a developer URL (`/developer/...`) lists all of that developer's apps. `searchTerms` find up to 200 apps per keyword via Apple's search API; `charts` return the current top free / paid iPhone apps (up to 100 per chart) of the chosen country. Combine them in one run.

**Do I get the same data as the App Store page?**
What Apple's official lookup and search services publish: title, developer, ratings (overall and current version), price, genres, version and release dates, size, iOS requirement, languages, screenshots and description. Ratings are Apple's globally aggregated numbers, not per-country.

**Can I track charts over time?**
Yes — schedule the actor (e.g. daily) and store each run's rows in your dataset or an external warehouse via the Apify API or webhooks.

**Does it include ratings from every country?**
No — one country per run (`country` field, or the country inside a URL). Run it once per market for per-market ratings.

**Is scraping the App Store allowed?**
The actor uses Apple's official public lookup and RSS services — no website scraping, no login, no personal user data. App details are business information, but still process them in line with Apple's terms and applicable law. This is not legal advice.
