## Pricing

from $0.80 / 1,000 articles

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

Scrape **Google News** by **keyword, topic or Google News URL**, in **any language and country**, and get clean rows: **headline, publisher, publish date, the real article URL** (decoded from Google's redirect links) and optional related coverage. Export to JSON, CSV, Excel or straight into your pipeline via API.

- **$1 per 1,000 articles** (+$0.50 per 1,000 decoded publisher URLs). Up to 4x cheaper than popular alternatives at $4-5 per 1,000.
- **More than 100 results**: give a date range and the Actor searches **day by day**, then removes duplicates. A normal Google News search stops at 100.
- **Real URLs**: `news.google.com/rss/articles/...` links are decoded to `https://www.reuters.com/...`. Failed decodes are not charged.
- **Any edition**: `language` + `country` (en/US, tr/TR, de/DE, pt-BR/BR ...). Topic headlines: TOP, WORLD, BUSINESS, TECHNOLOGY, SPORTS, SCIENCE, HEALTH ...
- **Google News search operators**: `"exact phrase"`, `-exclude`, `OR`, `site:reuters.com`, `intitle:`.
- Light and fast: no browser, no proxy, 256 MB. Bad input never fails the run; problems become free status rows.

### Use cases

- **Media monitoring / PR**: every article that mentions your brand, competitors or CEO, every day.
- **Market and investment research**: news flow per company, sector or ticker, with dates for time series.
- **AI and RAG pipelines**: fresh, dated news URLs to feed an LLM or a summariser (pair it with a URL-to-Markdown actor).
- **SEO and content**: which publishers rank in Google News for your topics.
- **Local news**: any country and language edition.

### Input

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `queries` | Search terms, e.g. `electric cars`, `"apify" -jobs`, `site:reuters.com tesla` |
| `topics` | TOP, WORLD, NATION, BUSINESS, TECHNOLOGY, ENTERTAINMENT, SPORTS, SCIENCE, HEALTH |
| `googleNewsUrls` | Any news.google.com search / topic / publication URL |
| `language`, `country` | Edition, default `en` / `US` |
| `timeRange` | any, 1h, 1d, 7d, 30d, 1y |
| `dateFrom`, `dateTo` | Date range, searched day by day (no 100-result limit) |
| `maxArticlesPerQuery` | Default 100, 0 = no limit |
| `resolveUrls` | Decode real publisher URLs (default on) |
| `includeRelatedArticles` | Other publishers covering the same story |

```json
{
  "queries": ["electric cars", "site:reuters.com tesla"],
  "topics": ["TECHNOLOGY"],
  "language": "en",
  "country": "US",
  "timeRange": "7d",
  "maxArticlesPerQuery": 100
}
```

### Output

```json
{
  "type": "article",
  "title": "Europe EV sales rose 70% in September",
  "source": "Reuters",
  "sourceUrl": "https://www.reuters.com",
  "publishedAt": "2026-10-19T16:00:26.000Z",
  "url": "https://www.reuters.com/business/europe-ev-sales-rose-70-september-...",
  "urlResolved": true,
  "googleNewsUrl": "https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMi...",
  "searchQuery": "electric cars",
  "language": "en-US",
  "country": "US"
}
```

Rows with `type: "status"` explain problems (no results, invalid topic, temporary errors). They are free.

### Pricing

Pay per event: **$0.001 per article**, **$0.0005 per decoded URL** (turn `resolveUrls` off to pay only $1 per 1,000). Status rows are free. Set a maximum cost per run in Apify and the Actor stops cleanly there.

### FAQ

**How do I get more than 100 articles?** Set `dateFrom` (and optionally `dateTo`). Each day is searched separately, so a 30-day range can return up to about 3,000 articles for one query.

**Why are some URLs not decoded?** Google occasionally refuses a decode request. Those rows keep `googleNewsUrl`, have `urlResolved: false` and the decode is not charged.

**Is it legal?** The Actor reads Google News's public RSS feeds. Check Google's terms and your local law for your use case; do not republish full articles you do not own.

# Actor input Schema

## `queries` (type: `array`):

Keywords or phrases, one per line. Google News operators work: "exact phrase", -exclude, OR, site:reuters.com, intitle:tesla.

## `topics` (type: `array`):

Optional. Top headlines of a section: TOP, WORLD, NATION, BUSINESS, TECHNOLOGY, ENTERTAINMENT, SPORTS, SCIENCE, HEALTH.

## `googleNewsUrls` (type: `array`):

Optional. Any news.google.com search, topic or publication URL (e.g. https://news.google.com/topics/...). Its own hl/gl settings are kept.

## `language` (type: `string`):

Language code: "en" (default), "tr", "de", "fr", "es", "pt-BR", "ja" ...

## `country` (type: `string`):

Two-letter country: "US" (default), "GB", "TR", "DE", "IN" ...

## `timeRange` (type: `string`):

Only for search queries, ignored when a date range is set.

## `dateFrom` (type: `string`):

Optional. Search queries only. With a date range the Actor searches day by day, so you get far more than Google's 100 results per search.

## `dateTo` (type: `string`):

Optional. Default: today (when Date from is set).

## `maxArticlesPerQuery` (type: `integer`):

0 = no limit. One Google News search returns up to 100 articles; use a date range for more.

## `resolveUrls` (type: `boolean`):

Turn Google News redirect links (news.google.com/rss/articles/...) into the real publisher URL. +$0.50 per 1,000 decoded URLs, only charged when decoding succeeds.

## `includeRelatedArticles` (type: `boolean`):

For headline clusters, add the other publishers' versions of the same story (title, source, Google link).

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

How many queries/topics are scraped at the same time.
