## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Shopify Store Products & Prices Scraper

Export the public product catalog of any **Shopify** store: prices and compare-at (sale) prices, every variant with SKU and stock flag, vendor, product type, tags, images and dates. One row per product, flat and ready for spreadsheets.

### Who it's for

E-commerce brands doing competitor price monitoring, resellers and dropshippers, market researchers, and agencies migrating a catalog.

### What you get

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `storeUrl` | Store origin |
| `productId` | Shopify product id |
| `title` | Product title |
| `handle` | URL handle |
| `productUrl` | Product page |
| `vendor` | Vendor/brand |
| `productType` | Product type |
| `tags` | Tags |
| `priceMin` | Lowest variant price |
| `priceMax` | Highest variant price |
| `compareAtPriceMax` | Highest compare-at price |
| `onSale` | Compare-at above price |
| `available` | Any variant in stock |
| `variantCount` | Variants |
| `variants` | Variants: id, title, sku, price, compareAtPrice, available |
| `imageUrl` | First image |
| `imageCount` | Images |
| `createdAt` | Created |
| `updatedAt` | Updated |
| `publishedAt` | Published |
| `description` | Description (if enabled) |
| `error` | Set only on error rows (bad input, site unavailable). Error rows are billed like results; see README. |

### Input

- **Store URLs** (required): e.g. `allbirds.com` or `https://kith.com`.
- **Max products per store** (default 1,000) / **Max results** (0 = no limit).
- **Include description** (default off): adds the plain-text product description.

Example:

```json
{
  "storeUrls": [
    "allbirds.com"
  ],
  "maxProductsPerStore": 50
}
```

Results appear in the **Output** tab and can be exported as JSON, CSV or Excel or pulled through the Apify API. Schedule the Actor daily or weekly to catch new items.

### Good to know

- Works only on Shopify stores that leave the public `/products.json` storefront feed enabled. Other stores return one error row.
- Shopify rate-limits by IP. The Actor paces pages at 3 s and honours `Retry-After`; for very large catalogs, run with an Apify proxy.
- Each store's robots.txt is checked at run time; if `/products.json` or `/products/` is disallowed, the store is skipped with an error row `blocked by robots.txt`.

### Pricing

Pay per result: you are charged for each row written to the dataset. Filters run *before* rows are saved, so you only pay for matches. A row that reports a bad input or an unavailable source (field `error`) also counts as one result, so you can see exactly what happened. Set a maximum cost per run in the run options and the Actor stops when it is reached.

### Data source

Each store's public `/products.json` storefront feed. No login; no customer or order data. Each store's own terms apply to how you use its data.

### Privacy

The Actor never logs in and never collects personal data of private individuals. You are responsible for using the data in line with the source's terms and the law in your country.

You can run this Actor programmatically using our API. Below are code examples in JavaScript, Python, and CLI, as well as the OpenAPI specification and MCP server setup.

## JavaScript example

```javascript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
// Initialize the ApifyClient with your Apify API token
// Replace the '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>' with your token
const client = new ApifyClient({
    token: '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>',
});
// Prepare Actor input
const input = {
