## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Live X & Web B2B Lead Enricher + Cold Email Icebreaker

**Enriches a list of B2B prospects with their last 30 days of public X (Twitter) posts and company news, then writes a personalized cold email icebreaker, pain points, and a 1–10 buying-intent score for each.**

Built for SDRs, BDRs, outbound agencies, founders doing their own outbound, and Clay / Make / n8n / Zapier users who want lead enrichment that also writes the opener.

### Who it's for

- **SDRs and BDRs** who want real personalization without 15 minutes of research per lead
- **Outbound and lead-gen agencies** running campaigns for many clients
- **Founders** doing their own outbound
- **Clay / Make / n8n / Zapier users** who want an enrichment step that writes the opener for them

### What you get for each prospect

| Field | What it is |
|---|---|
| `prospect_name`, `company`, `x_handle` | Who was researched (handle found automatically when public) |
| `recent_activity_summary` | 2-sentence summary of their X posts or company news from the last 30 days |
| `pain_points_detected` | 2–3 priorities, hiring signals, or challenges inferred from that activity |
| `cold_email_icebreaker` | A natural one-sentence opener referencing something specific and recent |
| `buying_intent_score` | 1–10: how relevant their current activity is to your offer |
| `has_recent_signal` | `true` if specific activity from the last 30 days was found |
| `charged` | `false` when no recent activity was found (you are not billed for that row) |
| `cached_result` | `true` if served from the 24-hour cache |

### Safe-topic icebreakers

Openers are built around positive or neutral business topics: product launches, funding, hiring, expansion, partnerships, customer wins, and technical insights. They are never based on politics, elections, taxes or policy opinions, religion, layoffs or job cuts, lawsuits, data breaches or security incidents, public apologies, personal life, health, or any controversy, even if that's the most recent item. If only sensitive items exist, the opener uses the company's core business instead. If nothing specific from the last 30 days is found, the row says so plainly, the intent score stays at 3 or below, and a short generic opener is written.

### How to use it

1. Add your prospects. Each needs a `name` and/or `company`; `x_handle` and `domain` are optional but improve accuracy.
2. Describe what you sell in **Your Product / Agency Offer** so the openers and pain points tie back to your pitch.
3. Pick a tone: `casual_founder`, `executive_direct`, or `witty_conversational`.
4. Run it, then export results as CSV, JSON, or Excel, or pull them through the Apify API.

#### Example input

```json
{
  "prospects": [
    { "name": "Amjad Masad", "company": "Replit", "x_handle": "amasad" },
    { "name": "Melanie Perkins", "company": "Canva", "domain": "canva.com" }
  ],
  "sender_offer_context": "Done-for-you outbound email campaigns for B2B SaaS teams",
  "icebreaker_tone": "executive_direct",
  "use_cache": true
}
```

### Example output

Real results from a test run on Oct 22, 2026 (offer: done-for-you outbound for B2B SaaS teams), shortened for display:

| Prospect | Company | Recent activity found | Icebreaker | Intent |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Amjad Masad | Replit | Replit Agent's new Stripe Atlas integration for incorporating a business via prompts (Oct 21) | "Loved the Stripe Atlas integration demo—prompt to corporation is a slick way to help founders move from idea to incorporated business instantly." | 8 |
| Melanie Perkins | Canva | ChatGPT connector, MCP server, and the MagicBrief acquisition (Oct 2026) | "Congrats on Canva's recent MagicBrief acquisition and new ChatGPT deep integration—excited to see how you're powering end-to-end marketing workflows." | 6 |
| Tobi Lutke | Shopify | Meta Muse partnership for agentic checkout via Shop Pay (Oct 2026) | "Congrats on the Muse partnership powering agentic checkouts across Shopify stores…" | 6 |
| Dharmesh Shah | HubSpot | New AI spend controls and flexible payment options (Oct 15) | "Congrats on the new AI spend controls and flexible pricing…" | 4 |

### Pricing

Pay-per-event: **$0.10 per enriched lead** (event `lead-enriched`, $100 per 1,000), plus a negligible Apify start fee. **No charge when nothing real is found**: prospects that fail to enrich, or where no activity from the last 30 days is found, are still returned but marked `charged: false`. Cap spend on any run with Apify's **maximum cost per run** setting.

Free Apify plan users can try up to 3 prospects per run.

### Pairs well with

- **[B2B Trigger Event Radar](https://apify.com/atlasdean/b2b-trigger-event-radar)**: find which accounts have a live buying signal (funding, exec hires, launches, hiring sprees) before you prospect them ($0.05 per triggered account; quiet accounts free).
- **[Journalist, Podcast & Creator Pitch Dossier Generator](https://apify.com/atlasdean/media-guest-pitch-dossier)**: research what a journalist, podcaster or creator covered recently and get a tailored pitch subject line and hook ($0.10 per dossier).

### Integrations

- **Apify API**: start runs and fetch results with the REST API or the `run-sync-get-dataset-items` endpoint (JavaScript and Python clients available).
- **Zapier, Make, and n8n**: use the official Apify apps/nodes to run this Actor from a workflow and push results to your CRM, sheet, or email tool.
- **Webhooks**: get notified when a run finishes and pull the dataset automatically.
- **AI agents**: AI assistants and agents can call this Actor as a tool through the **Apify MCP server**.
- **Exports**: download results as JSON, CSV, Excel, or HTML from the Console.

### Tips for better results

- Include the X handle when you know it; it's the strongest signal.
- A specific offer description ("SOC 2 automation for Series A startups") produces sharper openers than a generic one.
- Leave the 24-hour cache on to avoid paying twice for the same prospect, offer, and tone.
- Always review openers before sending. Prospects with little public activity get lower-confidence results and low intent scores.

### FAQ

**Where does the data come from?** Live public X posts and public web/news sources from the last 30 days, researched at run time.

**How fast is it?** Roughly 10–15 seconds per prospect.

**Does it find email addresses?** No. It enriches prospects you already have. Pair it with your email-finding tool of choice.

**Will it invent activity?** It's instructed to reference only posts or news it actually found. With nothing recent, the row is flagged `has_recent_signal: false` and not charged.

**Is it compliant?** It only uses publicly available information. You're responsible for following anti-spam laws (CAN-SPAM, GDPR, etc.) in your outreach.
