## Changelog: Competitor Watch

### 0.1

- A Shopify store that is rate-limited or down is reported as not answering (free, checked again next run), no longer as 'not a Shopify store'; only headings clearly about reviews hide a section.
- Review sections, quotations and review widgets are left out of tracked page text, while sale banners such as 'Summer Sale' stay; each source keeps its own last-checked time, so a failed Meta, TikTok or Shopify check never skips that source's new items next run.
- Customer reviews and testimonials are left out of tracked page text; the pending list and status are saved before webhooks, which are sent in parallel within the time left; a run where nothing answers within 75 s stops; Meta video ads carry their cover image.
- Each competitor is saved as soon as it is checked, so a run timeout keeps finished work; the maximum charge is checked before each competitor; a name and the domain of the same brand are merged; price changes of a non-cheapest variant name the variant.
- Competitors not reached in a run are checked first in the next one; brand names without a domain no longer count toward stopping a run early.
- Start fee $0.015 per run at 1 GB; a refusing or blocked source is given up faster (shorter timeouts, fewer retries) and a run where no source answers stops after 3 competitors.
- A competitor is charged once per run when at least one source was searched, whether or not anything was found; redirect pages ('Redirecting...') are followed or reported, never stored; TikTok detail-page blocks are reported as blocks.
- Brand names without a domain are rejected before any ad search; legal-entity endings (Limited, GmbH, Inc, B.V.) are ignored when matching advertisers; a source that refuses or blocks is skipped for the rest of the run; outages are no longer reported as 'not found'.
- Ads are reported only from pages and advertisers whose ads link to the competitor's domain; runs with nothing to read end successfully with a clear message; at most 30 ads per competitor and ad library.
- First release: one report per competitor with only what is new across Meta ads, TikTok ads, web pages, Shopify products and prices and job postings; Slack and webhook digest.
