## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Domain Intelligence Scraper

Domain WHOIS, RDAP, DNS, and email-security intelligence in one record. Bulk lookup registrar, registration dates, domain age, expiry, nameservers, MX/SPF/DMARC records, and provider detection. No API keys, no browser, no proxy.

### What does Domain Intelligence Scraper do?

Pass a list of domains (or URLs), get one enriched record per domain combining:

- **Registration data** — registrar, registrar URL, abuse email, registrant org/country, created / updated / expiry dates, computed domain age in days, days until expiry, EPP status codes, DNSSEC flag.
- **DNS records** — A, AAAA, MX, NS, CNAME, SOA, CAA, TXT, plus parsed SPF and DMARC records.
- **Provider detection** — nameserver provider (Cloudflare, AWS Route 53, Google Cloud DNS, Azure DNS, DigitalOcean, NS1, GoDaddy, and 25+ more) and mail provider (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Proton Mail, Zoho, Yandex, Fastmail, SendGrid, Mailgun, and 20+ more).

Data comes from open protocols only:

1. **RDAP** — modern HTTP/JSON replacement for WHOIS, pulled via the official IANA bootstrap at `rdap.org`.
2. **WHOIS** — port-43 fallback for TLDs without RDAP coverage (`.de`, `.ru`, `.jp`, `.br`, and others), with a TLD-to-server routing table for 40+ TLDs.
3. **DNS** — resolved through Cloudflare (1.1.1.1) and Google (8.8.8.8) public resolvers.

No scraping, no anti-bot, no API keys, no proxy.

### Who is it for?

- **Security researchers** auditing domain reputation, expiry risk, and email-security posture
- **Lead generation agencies** enriching prospect lists with domain age and infrastructure signals
- **Brand protection teams** monitoring lookalike domains and registrar changes
- **Domain investors** tracking portfolios for expiry, transfers, and registrar changes
- **Merchant-risk and vendor-due-diligence teams** checking registration age and mail infrastructure
- **Deliverability teams** auditing SPF and DMARC records across email domains

### Pricing

**$0.90 per 1,000 results.** No subscription.

| Results | Cost |
|---|---|
| 100 | $0.09 |
| 1,000 | $0.90 |
| 10,000 | $9.00 |

### How to use it

1. Paste one or more **Domains** (bare, no protocol — `example.com`).
2. Optionally paste **URLs** — domains are extracted automatically.
3. Toggle **RDAP**, **WHOIS**, and **DNS** as needed.
4. Click **Start**.

# Actor input Schema

## `domains` (type: `array`):

Bare domains to look up (e.g. example.com, github.com). Protocol, www, and paths are stripped automatically.

## `urls` (type: `array`):

Optional URLs — domains are extracted automatically.

## `includeRdap` (type: `boolean`):

Modern structured WHOIS replacement (HTTP/JSON). Preferred primary source.

## `includeWhois` (type: `boolean`):

Port-43 WHOIS fallback for TLDs without RDAP coverage.

## `includeDns` (type: `boolean`):

Resolve A, AAAA, MX, TXT, NS, CNAME, SOA, CAA + SPF/DMARC via DNS-over-HTTPS.

## `timeoutMs` (type: `integer`):

Timeout per RDAP/WHOIS query.

```javascript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
// Initialize the ApifyClient with your Apify API token
// Replace the '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>' with your token
const client = new ApifyClient({
    token: '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>',
// Run the Actor and wait for it to finish
const run = await client.actor("aurenic/domain-intel-scraper").call(input);
// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
