# Colombia Company Registry + Public Contract History (`automatic/colombia-nit-scraper`) Actor

Look up Colombian companies in the national business registry (RUES on datos.gov.co) by NIT or company name: legal name, status, chamber of commerce, CIIU activity. Each company also gets its public contract history from SECOP II: award count, total value, top public buyers and latest award.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Colombia Company Registry + Public Contract History

Join each registry company to SECOP II contracts (`jbjy-vk9h`) using server-side count/value/latest-date aggregation, with top five public buyers. `procurementProfile` includes explicit dates, COP totals and match method. Defaults to the last 24 months; override with `procurementDateFrom` and `procurementDateTo`. No awards is distinct from unavailable enrichment.

Example: `{"nit":"890900608","enrichProcurement":true,"procurementDateFrom":"2024-10-30","procurementDateTo":"2026-10-30"}`.

Enrichment is enabled by default and can be disabled with `enrichProcurement`: false. Every existing base field keeps its meaning. Extra-source failure leaves base rows with null enrichment and an unavailable status. Public registry records can be stale, duplicated across chambers, or absent; they do not verify tax status. Matching strips punctuation and leading zeros; a tenth digit is removed only when it validates as the check digit. No fuzzy name matching. Procurement history excludes drafts and includes all other published contract states; award counts are contract counts, not proof of paid expenditure. City is not published by this registry and is null.

One output row is one default dataset-item charge, including source-status notes. No custom charge events. Requests and retries share the actor deadline and reserve 20 seconds for output. Retry-After is honored in full; empty results are requested twice before confirmation.

### Quick Start

Look up Colombian companies in official public registry data.
Built for company research, prospect discovery, and counterparty enrichment.
Paste this input to start:

```json
{"nit": "890900608"}
```

### Input

| Field | Type | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---:|---|
| `nit` | string | `""` | NIT lookup, with or without formatting. |
| `companyName` | string | `""` | Company-name prefix search. |
| `maxResults` | integer | `30` | Maximum registry records returned (1–200). |
| `enrichProcurement` | boolean | `true` | Add a public-contract profile with fallback. |
| `procurementDateFrom` | string | 24 months ago | Inclusive YYYY-MM-DD signing-date start. |
| `procurementDateTo` | string | today | Inclusive YYYY-MM-DD signing-date end. |

Provide either `nit` or `companyName`.

### Output

Each item includes `companyKey`, `nit`, `digitoVerificacion`, `nitCompleto`, `razonSocial`, `sigla`, `camaraComercio`, `codigoCamara`, `matricula`, `claseIdentificacion`, `estadoMatricula`, `categoriaMatricula`, `tipoSociedad`, `organizacionJuridica`, `actividadEconomica`, `ciiu3`, `ciiu4`, `fechaMatricula`, `fechaRenovacion`, `fechaCancelacion`, `fechaVigencia`, `ultimoAnoRenovado`, `representanteLegal`, `representanteLegalDocumento`, `matchType`, `sourceQuery`, `source`, and `scrapedAt`.

Example record:

```json
{"companyKey":"datos.gov.co:matricula:ABURRA SUR:123456","nit":"890900608","nitCompleto":"890900608-9","razonSocial":"GRUPO NUTRESA S.A.","estadoMatricula":"ACTIVA","matchType":"nit","source":"datos.gov.co"}
```

### FAQ

**How fresh is the data?** Results come from the public registry dataset at run time, which is refreshed periodically.

**What lookup scopes are supported?** Search by NIT or company-name prefix.

**How many results can I receive?** You can request 1–200 records.

**What happens for missing values?** Registry sentinels and unavailable fields are returned as `null`.

# Actor input Schema

## `nit` (type: `string`):

NIT to look up, e.g. '890900608'. Dots are tolerated ('890.900.608') and a check digit may be supplied after a hyphen ('890.900.608-9', checksum-validated before the request). Returns every matrícula registered under the number. Provide either this or Company name.

## `companyName` (type: `string`):

Razón social prefix to search (e.g. 'GRUPO NUTRESA'): matches company names that start with the fragment, active matrículas first. Provide either this or NIT number.

## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many registry records.

## `enrichProcurement` (type: `boolean`):

Optional extra source; unavailable enrichment preserves base rows.

## `procurementDateFrom` (type: `string`):

YYYY-MM-DD; defaults to last 24 months through today.

## `procurementDateTo` (type: `string`):

YYYY-MM-DD; defaults to last 24 months through today.
