## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Páginas Amarillas Argentina Business Scraper

Find businesses in Argentina by business name or service, such as `plomeros`. Export business names, addresses, cities, provinces, published business phone numbers, websites and listing links.

### Who it is for

Sales and marketing teams building local lead lists, researchers mapping businesses by city or province, and anyone who needs Páginas Amarillas Argentina listings in a spreadsheet.

### Input

- **Country**: Argentina (the only country covered).
- **Business or service** (`query`): what to search for, such as `plomeros` or `restaurantes`. Required.
- **City or province** (`locationWord`): optional, such as `Córdoba`. Leave empty to search all of Argentina.
- **Maximum businesses** (`maxItems`): how many businesses to save, 1 to 1,000. Default 50.

```json
{
  "query": "plomeros",
  "locationWord": "Córdoba",
  "maxItems": 50
}
```

### Output

One row per business, with duplicates removed:

```json
{
  "businessId": "17115959",
  "name": "Gas y Agua Romero",
  "categories": [],
  "street": "San Pablo",
  "streetNumber": "3515",
  "postalCode": null,
  "city": "La Reja",
  "region": "Buenos Aires",
  "country": "AR",
  "phone": null,
  "website": "http://www.romerogasagua.com",
  "openingHours": null,
  "rating": null,
  "url": "https://www.paginasamarillas.com.ar/fichas/gas-y-agua-romero_17115959/"
}
```

Download results as JSON, CSV or Excel.

### What is missing or empty

- `categories` is always an empty list, and `postalCode`, `openingHours` and `rating` are always empty: the directory does not show them in search results.
- `phone`, `website` and `streetNumber` are empty when the business has not published one. A phone is included only when it is listed as a business contact, and a website is left empty when the only link is a messaging app or a Facebook page.
- Business detail pages are not included, so there are no descriptions, emails, staff names or photos.
- A search with no matches finishes with an empty result and a clear message.

### Limits

- Argentina only, from paginasamarillas.com.ar.
- Up to 1,000 businesses per run.
- Accented and unaccented spellings (`peluquerías`, `peluquerias`) return the same results.
- City and province matching is the directory's own, so a province search can include a few businesses from nearby areas.

### Privacy

The actor collects only what businesses publish in the directory. Many small businesses trade under the owner's name and list a home address or mobile number, so treat results as personal data where local law requires it.
