## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Peru SUNAT RUC Taxpayer Records

### Quick Start

Look up Peruvian taxpayers in official public registry data.
Designed for company verification, compliance research, and business enrichment.
Paste this input to start:

```json
{"ruc": "20131312955"}
```

### Input

| Field | Type | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---:|---|
| `ruc` | string | `""` | 11-digit taxpayer lookup. |
| `companyName` | string | `""` | Company-name fragment search. |
| `maxResults` | integer | `30` | Maximum name-search records. |
| `includeDetails` | boolean | `true` | Include full registry details for name matches. |
| `requestDelaySecs` | number | `1` | Delay between detail requests. |

Provide exactly one of `ruc` or `companyName`.

### Output

Each item includes `ruc`, `companyKey`, `razonSocial`, `estado`, `condicion`, `domicilioFiscal`, `actividadEconomica`, `tipoContribuyente`, `nombreComercial`, `fechaInscripcion`, `fechaInicioActividades`, `ubicacion`, `matchType`, `sourceQuery`, `source`, and `scrapedAt`. A name-search row whose full registry detail could not be fetched keeps the search-card fields and adds `detailError` (the source message); it does not fail the run.

Every successful or labelled-empty run also writes a key-value `OUTPUT` summary (`status`, `records`, `matchType`, `emptyReason`, `summaryLine`). A recognised no-match is a labelled empty run: `status` is `succeeded_empty` with a clear `emptyReason`, no dataset rows are pushed, and the run exits successfully. Upstream errors and unrecognised or malformed answer pages still fail loudly instead of producing a silent empty dataset.

Example record:

```json
{"ruc":"20131312955","companyKey":"e-consultaruc.sunat.gob.pe:20131312955","razonSocial":"EMPRESA EJEMPLO S.A.C.","estado":"ACTIVO","condicion":"HABIDO","matchType":"ruc","source":"e-consultaruc.sunat.gob.pe"}
```

### FAQ

**How fresh is the data?** Each run queries the official taxpayer registry.

**What lookup scopes are supported?** Search by an 11-digit RUC or company-name fragment.

**What happens when there is no match?** When SUNAT positively answers that it found no taxpayer (its "NO REGISTRA" name answer or its "no es válido" RUC answer), the run is a labelled empty result: `OUTPUT.status` is `succeeded_empty` with a clear `emptyReason`, no dataset rows are pushed, and the run exits successfully. An upstream error or an unrecognised/malformed page that parses to zero still fails loudly, so an arbitrary parser zero is never reported as a genuine miss.

**What happens when a field is not published?** The field is returned as `null` rather than guessed.

# Actor input Schema

## `ruc` (type: `string`):

11-digit RUC to look up (checksum-validated before the request). Provide either this or Company name.

## `companyName` (type: `string`):

Company name (razón social) fragment to search. SUNAT returns up to 30 matches. Provide either this or RUC number.

## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many taxpayer records (name search only; SUNAT caps one name answer at 30).

## `includeDetails` (type: `boolean`):

When true (default), each name-search hit is enriched with its full registry record (condition, fiscal address, economic activity, registration dates). RUC lookups always return the full record.

## `requestDelaySecs` (type: `number`):

Pause between registry-detail fetches during enrichment. Minimum 0.5 seconds.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "ruc": "20131312955",
  "companyName": "",
  "maxResults": 30,
  "includeDetails": true,
  "requestDelaySecs": 1
}
