## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## SEEK Jobs Scraper

Collect job listings from SEEK Australia and SEEK New Zealand by keyword and location: title, company, location, salary, work type, posting date, classification and link, with an optional short description of each job. Useful for recruiters, job-market researchers and anyone tracking hiring in Australia or New Zealand. No SEEK account is needed.

### Input

```json
{"keywords": "software engineer", "location": "Sydney", "country": "AU", "maxItems": 50, "includeDetails": false}
```

- `keywords`: job title, skill or company, as you would type it on SEEK.
- `location`: suburb, city, state or region. For New Zealand, Auckland is used when you leave it empty.
- `country`: `AU` or `NZ`.
- `maxItems`: how many jobs to save (1–5000). A run returns up to about 2,200 jobs, even when maxItems is higher.
- `includeDetails`: also add a short description of each job. This is slower (see Limits).

Optional filters (Australia only) take SEEK's own values: `classification` (for example `1200` Accounting), `workarrangement` (`2` Hybrid), `salaryrange` (annual salary, for example `200000-999999`), `daterange` (`1` past day, `7` past week) and `sortmode` (`ListedDate` for newest first). A New Zealand run with any of these filters stops with an error before collecting anything.

### Output

One row per job:

```json
{"jobId": "95471897", "title": "Junior Software Engineer", "company": "Moneyspot Financial", "location": "Surry Hills, Sydney NSW", "country": "AU", "salaryText": "$70,000 – $90,000 per year + annual bonus", "salaryMin": 70000.0, "salaryMax": 90000.0, "salaryCurrency": null, "salaryPeriod": "YEAR", "employmentType": "Full time", "postedDate": "2026-10-23T19:40:06Z", "url": "https://www.seek.com.au/job/95471897", "descriptionExcerpt": null, "classification": "Information & Communication Technology"}
```

### Empty or missing values

- Anything the job ad does not show is null.
- `salaryText` is the salary exactly as the ad shows it. `salaryMin` and `salaryMax` are filled only when the ad gives a clear amount; unclear amounts stay null. `salaryPeriod` is YEAR, HOUR, DAY, WEEK or MONTH when the ad states one.
- `salaryCurrency` is filled only when the ad names the currency (for example AUD). A `$` sign alone leaves it null, so it is null for most jobs.
- `descriptionExcerpt` is null unless `includeDetails` is on. When on, it is plain text of up to 600 characters and may be cut mid-word.
- A search with no matching jobs finishes successfully with zero rows.

### Limits

- Covers SEEK Australia and SEEK New Zealand only.
- Up to about 2,200 jobs per run.
- Descriptions are slower: about 1.4 seconds per job, so roughly 400 jobs with descriptions fit in the default 10-minute run. Raise the run timeout for more. If a run reaches its time limit, it finishes with the jobs collected so far.

### Privacy

Public job text, including advertiser-provided contacts and application instructions, is preserved in the description excerpt. `company` is the advertiser name as SEEK shows it, which can be a person's name when that is the registered business name.

### Pricing

See the Pricing tab. You pay per run start and per job saved, descriptions included.

Which SEEK site to search: Australia (AU) or New Zealand (NZ).

## `classification` (type: `string`):

AU only: SEEK server filter; see README for values. NZ rejects this filter.

## `workarrangement` (type: `string`):

AU only: SEEK server filter; see README for values. NZ rejects this filter.

## `salaryrange` (type: `string`):

AU only: SEEK server filter; see README for values. NZ rejects this filter.
