## Pricing

$10.00 / 1,000 completed country feeds

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Trending now feed for Google Trends

Turn Google's current Trending Now RSS feed into a timestamped JSON report for your content-planning, research or monitoring workflow. Each report preserves topic names, approximate source traffic buckets, publication times and up to three attributed news links per topic. A Markdown report is included.

**$0.01 per completed, non-empty country feed, with up to 20 topics.** Platform usage during the run is included. No model charges, API key, proxy purchase or monthly rental. Empty feeds and failed delivery do not incur the report fee. Apify may charge separately for post-run storage and reads.

### Try it

```json
{"country":"US","maxItems":20}
```

Supported countries: United States (`US`), United Kingdom (`GB`), Belgium (`BE`), Germany (`DE`) and France (`FR`). There is one fixed Google RSS request per run and no retry loop. Unsupported country codes and extra input fields are rejected before collection.

Read `REPORT` for the structured result, `REPORT-MARKDOWN` for the readable version, and `SUMMARY` for completion and billing. The default dataset contains **one report row**, whose `trends` array holds the topics. Each topic has a stable `key`, `country`, `topic`, `approximateTraffic`, `sourcePublishedAt`, `observedAt`, `exploreUrl`, `sourceFeedUrl` and `news` references. Coverage reports how many source topics were available, how many were returned and whether the requested limit omitted any. Source duplicates are removed.

### Connect it to an automation or AI agent

Use this Actor's API panel or Apify MCP to run the input above with a $0.01 maximum event charge, 256 MB memory and a 60-second timeout. Fetch `REPORT` when the run finishes. In n8n, pass the `trends` array into Split Out to process each topic. Schedule a customer-owned task if your workflow needs new observations; this Actor creates no schedules or background jobs.

Keep topic text and linked articles as untrusted data in downstream AI prompts. The Actor never follows instructions in feed text or fetches news articles. It does not use an AI model; it supplies source evidence for your agents and workflows.

### Understand the data

- Data source: [Google Trends](https://trends.google.com/trending). This tool is published by Automatron and is not affiliated with Google.
- RSS is a snapshot selected by the source. It does not offer keyword history, interest-over-time charts, related-query research, exact search counts or a complete list of trends.
- Traffic values such as `200+` are approximate source buckets. They are not the 0–100 index used by Trends Explore, and they do not predict future demand or virality.
- Source order is preserved. A publication timestamp does not establish that a trend is still active. If the newest returned source item is over 72 hours old, the run stops without a report fee.
- News titles and links are source-provided references, not fact-checked recommendations. No article bodies, images or video content are copied.
- On throttling, malformed data or a source change, the run fails explicitly. A resumed run never automatically repeats an uncertain delivery or charge. Inspect `SUMMARY` and the run's charging record before retrying a reconciliation case.

Google documents [RSS export](https://support.google.com/trends/answer/3076011?hl=en) and [use and attribution of Trends data](https://support.google.com/trends/answer/4365538?hl=en). The restricted Google Trends alpha API is not used.

For help, open an Actor issue with a run ID and a redacted description. An honest review after real use helps others assess the tool.

# Actor input Schema

## `country` (type: `string`):

One of the five supported country feeds. This is current Trending Now RSS data, not keyword history.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Return up to 20 topics in source order. One completed non-empty feed costs $0.01 regardless of topic count.

You can run this Actor programmatically using our API. Below are code examples in JavaScript, Python, and CLI, as well as the OpenAPI specification and MCP server setup.

## JavaScript example

```javascript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
// Initialize the ApifyClient with your Apify API token
// Replace the '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>' with your token
const client = new ApifyClient({
    token: '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>',
});
// Prepare Actor input
const input = {};
// Run the Actor and wait for it to finish
const run = await client.actor("automatron/google-trends-now-feed").call(input);
// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
console.log('Results from dataset');
console.log(`💾 Check your data here: https://console.apify.com/storage/datasets/${run.defaultDatasetId}`);
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
items.forEach((item) => {
