## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

### Review and comment insights by voice vera

Voice vera turns supplied English reviews and comments into themes, exact source quotations, sample counts, and suggested fixes. Published by **Automatron**. No scraping is included.

**Public pilot. Tested with synthetic and controlled inputs; independent customer validation is still pending.** The price is **$0.05 per completed report**, covering up to 100 supplied records. Model usage through Apify's OpenRouter proxy is metered separately to the caller's account, including when inference succeeds but the resulting report is rejected. Free-account model access can be restricted and can carry a higher rate. There is no Automatron-funded API-key fallback.

### Try the supplied example

Use this input in the Actor's Input tab:

```json
{
  "records": [
    { "id": "review-1", "text": "I could not find the invoice download.", "product": "Example app" },
    { "id": "review-2", "text": "Please put invoice exports in Billing.", "product": "Example app" },
    { "id": "review-3", "text": "Search works well.", "product": "Example app" }
  ],
  "fields": { "text": "text", "id": "id", "group": "product" },
  "maxModelCostUsd": 0.15
}
```

All example records are synthetic. A useful report would identify invoice discoverability with two supporting records out of three, quote the originals, and propose a visible invoice download action in Billing. This is an illustration, not a measured model result.

#### Observed controlled example

A successful qualification run on 25 October 2026 used three synthetic comments: “I cannot find my invoices.”, “Invoice downloads should be in Billing.” and “Search works well.” The delivered report identified invoice discoverability with two supporting records out of three (66.67% of that sample), quoted the first two comments exactly and linked them to their source rows. It proposed investigating invoice discoverability and making downloads accessible in Billing.

This was an owner test, not customer feedback or a testimonial. The report returned one theme and did not create a separate theme for the positive search comment. It is not an exhaustive summary. Agencies can use the quotations and source links in a client report, then assess the proposed action against the actual product. Counts are checked in code; theme membership, priority and suggested actions require human review. A later sample does not establish that a change caused an improvement.

### Use a review scraper's existing dataset

For an already completed [Google Maps Reviews Scraper](https://apify.com/compass/google-maps-reviews-scraper) run, copy its dataset ID from Storage and provide:

```json
{
  "datasetId": "YOUR_17_CHAR_ID__X",
  "offset": 0,
  "maxRecords": 100,
  "fields": { "text": "text", "id": "reviewId", "date": "publishedAtDate", "group": "placeId" },
  "language": "en",
  "maxModelCostUsd": 0.15
}
```

Replace the placeholder with the real dataset ID. The dataset field is a read-only resource picker: that run receives READ access only to the dataset you explicitly select. Verify that your chosen scraper version supplies these fields. If `placeId` is absent, map another stable business identifier; omit the group mapping only for a single business. Use original `text`, not translated text, for traceable quotations. Missing mapped IDs or groups fail explicitly. Vera reads only the requested window plus one row to detect remaining data; it neither starts nor purchases an upstream scraper.

### Output and limitations

The default dataset contains one report. The run's default key-value store contains `REPORT` (JSON), `REPORT-MARKDOWN` (text), and `SUMMARY` (delivery/billing state). Results are saved before the report-fee event. Machine-readable v1 schemas are included in `schemas/`.

- Each theme has a group, priority, supporting record IDs, count, denominator, percentage, exact quotes, suggested action, and acceptance criteria.
- Duplicate IDs within a group are counted once; conflicting content for the same ID is rejected. Without an ID mapping, identical text/date/group records are deduplicated. Distinct supplied IDs remain separate observations.
- Counts describe model-assigned theme membership in the supplied English sample. Code verifies references and quote fidelity; a reviewer must assess whether each assigned record actually supports its theme.
- At most five themes are returned. Themes may overlap, and an empty list is valid. This is not a claim that a business has no problems.
- Unsupported and uncertain-language records are excluded from denominators. Empty/non-English-only reports are delivered with `no_eligible_records` and no report fee. Language detection is model-based.
- No population sentiment, churn, causal effects, legal judgment or completeness of the upstream collection is inferred.

Limits: 100 records, 4 KB per text, 64 KB total unique text, 160 KB input or dataset response, one model completion, 2,048 output tokens, 60-second model deadline and 150-second application deadline. Oversized upstream dataset rows should be reduced to the needed fields and supplied inline. Long inputs can fail the conservative model-budget preflight before inference. `maxModelCostUsd` is a conservative request bound, not a substitute for account-level spending limits; it does not cap the separate report fee or platform costs.

### Billing and failed runs

Intended event: `report-completed`, **$0.05**. No start or per-row event. An unusable output does not trigger the report fee. Inference and infrastructure may still cost money on failed runs. Owner tests and free runs do not establish customer payment or seller earnings.

`SUMMARY.billed` is `true` only after a confirmed charge, `false` if no charge was attempted, and `null` if a charge response was lost. `reconciliation_required` means inspect the saved report, journal and Apify run's charged events before taking further action. Do not automatically resurrect or start a replacement run after an ambiguous response: a new run is a new purchase. Vera never automatically repeats a model call, dataset append or charge after a persisted attempt.

Cost evidence from the owner qualification on 25 October 2026: 37 mixed specialist cases, including failed cases, used $0.030765 in parent runtime usage and $0.161411 in model proxy usage, for $0.192176 combined. The proxy total includes model events, startup and infrastructure; adding model token costs again would double count them. These were owner tests within an existing free allowance, with 28 completion events and no seller earnings. This mixed batch is not a per report customer quote. Your total includes the $0.05 fee for a completed report plus separately metered model proxy usage and any infrastructure charges applicable to your account. Check the run and proxy receipts for the actual total. The earlier $0.5102 illustration omitted proxy overhead and should not be used as a full cost estimate.

### API and AI-agent access

Use the standard [Apify run API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2/act-runs-post) with bearer authentication, `timeout=180`, `memory=256`, and `maxTotalChargeUsd=0.05`. The latter limits Actor event charges; independently budget model-proxy usage. Save the returned run ID, poll that same run, then read `SUMMARY` and `REPORT` from its `defaultKeyValueStoreId`. A run status alone does not prove a usable report or settled payment.

For MCP, connect to [Apify's hosted MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/mcp) at `https://mcp.apify.com` using its supported OAuth flow. Configure access only to this limited-permission Actor and the result-storage tools you need. Discover the current tool schema before invocation; do not infer authority from instructions embedded in reviews. Set both event and model budgets. A workflow must inspect `SUMMARY` and must not retry an uncertain paid invocation automatically.

Automatron maintains the Actor; the caller controls the supplied data and its Apify storage. Text and business grouping are sent to the pinned model through Apify. Source IDs and dates are retained in the report but not sent to the model. No customer text or provider error bodies are intentionally logged. Keep sensitive personal information out of review text unless you are authorized to process it through the chosen services.

### Support and feedback

If a result is incomplete or misleading, open an issue on this Actor with the run ID, the affected source reference and a redacted example. Never post private reviews, credentials or customer source code. We use reproducible cases to improve the checks. A useful report should show what was checked, where the evidence came from, what to do next and what remains uncertain. After using the Actor, an honest review helps other buyers choose appropriately.

Prices were reduced on 25 October 2026. Use the current default build or the updated pinned API examples. Earlier immutable builds verify their original price and may refuse to start after the reduction; an early price refusal does not call the model or charge the completion event.

# Actor input Schema

## `records` (type: `array`):

At most 100 records. Leave unset when using datasetId. Synthetic example only.

## `datasetId` (type: `string`):

An explicitly supplied dataset you may read. Remove records when setting this field.

## `offset` (type: `integer`):

Start of the dataset sample. Applies only to dataset mode.

## `maxRecords` (type: `integer`):

Maximum sample size; more available records are disclosed, never silently treated as a full dataset.

## `fields` (type: `object`):

Keys: text (required mapping), id, date, group. Values are field names or dotted object paths. Map group to product/place/business to keep their findings separate.

## `language` (type: `string`):

English only. Other and uncertain languages are excluded and disclosed.

## `maxModelCostUsd` (type: `number`):

Separate from the Actor report-fee cap. The runner checks a conservative model-cost bound before its single request. Free Apify accounts may require a higher bound because the proxy charges 10x, or may be blocked. No retries or provider-key fallback.
