## Pricing

from $0.60 / 1,000 results

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

### What does Penny.de Offers Scraper do?

Penny.de Offers Scraper is a Penny scraper and unofficial Penny API for the weekly supermarket offers published on penny.de/angebote. It collects every offer tile for the current week, the next week or a specific week, across all categories or only the ones you pick. Each row has the title, the offer price, the original price and discount when the tile shows them, the pack size, the unit price, the image and the link to the offer page.

The data comes from public pages, no login needed. The Actor reads the category list and the current week from the offers page, then requests one JSON list per category. That is roughly one request per category, so a full run over all categories is about 25 requests, sent at a modest pace.

Typical uses are building a weekly price list for German grocery deals, tracking which products are discounted and by how much, comparing Penny offers with other retailers, and feeding a deal newsletter or a spreadsheet. Results export as JSON, CSV, Excel, XML or HTML from the dataset, and you can schedule the Actor to run every week.

### What data can you get from Penny.de?

Every record contains the fields below. Some fields are empty when a tile does not show them, for example `originalPrice` and `discount` are only present on discounted offers.

| Field | Description | Example |
|---|---|---|
| `id` | Stable offer UUID assigned by Penny | `322b3a83-659a-4156-8b7b-83ada0379292` |
| `title` | Offer title as shown on the tile | `RED BULL Energy-Drink*` |
| `category` | Offer category slug | `top-angebote` |
| `price` | Offer price in euros, footnote markers removed | `0.99` |
| `originalPrice` | Crossed-out or recommended price in euros, when shown | `1.49` |
| `discount` | Discount percentage, when shown | `33%` |
| `quantity` | Pack size or quantity text | `je 250 ml` |
| `basePrice` | Price per unit as displayed | `(1 l = 3.96)` |
| `imageUrl` | URL of the offer image | `https://cdn.penny.de/dam/jcr:a06ab81f-3df6-44c4-a8a5-8c07a4f3bc00/55748200.png?impolicy=penny&imwidth=600` |
| `offerUrl` | Link to the offer page on penny.de | `https://www.penny.de/angebote/top-angebote/red-bull-energy-drink` |
| `week` | Offer week slug | `2026-41` |
| `sourceUrl` | API endpoint the offer was collected from | `https://www.penny.de/.rest/offers/by-category/2026-41/top-angebote` |

### How to use Penny.de Offers Scraper

1. Open the Actor in Apify Console and go to the Input tab.
2. Choose the week: `current`, `next`, or a week slug such as `2026-41`.
3. Optionally list categories, one per line: slugs, German names such as `Obst & Gemüse`, or links to penny.de/angebote. Leave the list empty to scrape every category.
4. Set `maxItems` to cap the number of offers.
5. Click Start, then export the dataset as JSON, CSV or Excel when the run finishes.

Tips: category slugs are the last part of the URL on penny.de/angebote, for example `top-angebote`, `fleisch-und-wurst`, `getraenke` or `kuehlregal`. Some categories have numbered variants for different offer periods, such as `getraenke1` for offers from Thursday; asking for `getraenke` includes them. Common English words like `drinks` or `dairy` are mapped to the matching Penny category. The same product can appear in more than one category with a different `id`. The next week is only available once Penny has published it; until then the run returns the current week and says so in the log, and the `week` field of each row shows the week you actually got.

#### Choosing the week

The `week` input accepts three kinds of values. The value `current` makes the Actor read the current week from the offers page, so a scheduled run always follows the live offers without you changing anything. The value `next` uses the following week when Penny has already published it, which is handy for planning a shopping list or preparing a newsletter before the offers start. A slug such as `2026-41` (also written `2026-W41` or `KW41`) asks for that exact week. The site only serves the live week and, shortly before it starts, the next one. If you ask for a week one or two weeks away that is not online, the run returns the current week instead and logs a warning; a week further away ends with zero results and a status message.

#### Working with the output

Each row is one offer tile. The `price` and `originalPrice` fields are numbers in euros, so you can sort, filter and compute savings directly in a spreadsheet or a database. The `discount` field keeps the percentage text as a string. The `quantity` and `basePrice` fields are kept exactly as displayed on the tile, which means they contain the German wording, for example `je 250 ml` for a single can or `(1 l = 3.96)` for the price per litre. If you need the unit price as a number, parse the figure after the equals sign.

Because the `id` is the offer identifier assigned by Penny, you can use it to join runs from different weeks or to detect new offers between two runs. The `offerUrl` points to the product offer page on penny.de, and `imageUrl` points to a large version of the product image.

### Input

| Field | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| `week` | string | No | `current`, `next` or a week slug like `2026-41`. Default `current`. |
| `categories` | array of strings | No | Category slugs, names or penny.de/angebote links to scrape, including their period variants. Empty means all categories. |
| `searchTerms` | string\[] | No | Keywords matched against the offer title (case-insensitive, any term matches), e.g. `["Kaffee"]`. Empty returns every offer. |
| `maxItems` | integer | No | Maximum number of offers to return, 1-10000, default 50. |
| `proxyConfiguration` | object | No | Proxy settings. Default: no proxy; enable Apify Proxy if requests are blocked. |

```json
{
    "week": "current",
    "categories": ["top-angebote", "fleisch-und-wurst"],
    "maxItems": 20,
    "proxyConfiguration": { "useApifyProxy": false }
        "sourceUrl": "https://www.penny.de/.rest/offers/by-category/2026-41/top-angebote"
    }
]
```

#### Filtering by keyword

Set `searchTerms` to keep only offers whose `title` contains one of the keywords, for example `{"week": "current", "searchTerms": ["Kaffee", "Butter"], "maxItems": 50}`. The filter runs on the categories you chose (or all categories when none is given), so it also works for price monitoring of a single product.

### How much does it cost to scrape Penny.de?

Penny.de Offers Scraper is charged per result. You pay only for the results returned, and `maxItems` caps how many that can be. See the Pricing tab for the current price.

### Use with AI agents (MCP)

Connect Penny.de Offers Scraper to Claude, Cursor or any MCP client through the Apify MCP server:

```json
{
    "mcpServers": {
        "apify": {
            "url": "https://mcp.apify.com/?tools=axiomworks/penny-offers-scraper"
        }
    }
}
```

Example prompts:

1. "Get this week's Penny offers in the getraenke category and list the three biggest discounts."
2. "Scrape the first 30 Penny offers for next week and put them in a table with price and quantity."
3. "Which Penny meat and sausage offers this week cost less than 3 euros?"

```
You can also connect the Actor to Make, Zapier, n8n, Google Sheets or webhooks from the Integrations tab, and schedule weekly runs so your sheet updates when Penny publishes new offers.
### FAQ
**How fresh is the data?**
Each run reads the live offers on penny.de at the time it runs. Penny changes its offers weekly, so a weekly schedule is usually enough.
**Why did my run return 0 results?**
Either a category slug does not exist this week, or the week you asked for is far from the current one. The run status message says what to change. Check slugs on penny.de/angebote.
**Why is `originalPrice` or `discount` empty?**
Only discounted tiles show an original price and a percentage. Other offers have these fields empty.
**Why do prices have no footnote marks?**
Some tiles show prices like 0.69 followed by a footnote symbol. The scraper keeps the number only.
**Can I get all categories at once?**
Yes. Leave `categories` empty and every category listed on the offers page is scraped until `maxItems` is reached.
**Do I need a proxy?**
Usually not. If requests get blocked, enable Apify Proxy in the proxy settings; blocked requests are retried on a new IP automatically.
**Are store-specific offers included?**
No. The Actor collects the national weekly offers listed on the offers page, not offers for a single store.
**Does it collect prices for a specific store or postcode?**
No. Penny publishes national weekly offers on this page, and that is what the Actor collects. Store specific stock and prices are not part of the data.
**Can I run it on a schedule?**
Yes. Use the Schedules feature in Apify Console and run it once a week with `week` set to `current`. Combine it with a webhook or an integration to push the new rows into your tools automatically.
**What happens if a category name is wrong?**
The Actor logs which category was not found, continues with the other categories, and finishes successfully. If none of the categories exist, the run ends with zero results and a message that tells you to check the slugs on the offers page.
**How many requests does a run make?**
One request for the offers page and one per category, sent about once per second. A run over every category therefore makes about twenty-five requests in total, which keeps the load on the site small.
