## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Alibaba Product & Supplier Scraper

Search Alibaba.com by keyword, or paste an Alibaba search, showroom or product URL, and get structured data back: products with their **price tiers, minimum order, specifications, SKU options, lead time and certificates**, together with the **supplier's contact person, response time, on-time delivery rate and orders in the last six months**. Switch to **Suppliers** mode to get one row per supplier instead, ready to use as a sourcing shortlist.

It reads the same pages a buyer sees, without a login. Alibaba does not publish suppliers' phone numbers or emails to logged-out visitors, so these are not in the data (see the FAQ).

### What you can do with it

- **Sourcing and procurement**: compare price tiers, MOQ and lead times for a product across hundreds of suppliers, filtered to Trade Assurance or verified suppliers.
- **Amazon FBA and dropshipping research**: find low-MOQ products (`minOrderQuantityTo`), sort by sales volume, and check how much each supplier actually sold in the last six months.
- **Supplier lead lists**: use **Suppliers** mode to list manufacturers and trading companies by country with the contact person, job title, response time and trade history.
- **Price and market monitoring**: schedule the same search every week and track price tiers and rankings (`rank` is the position in the results).
- **Category research**: ask for the best-selling products of a keyword and read their category ranking and ratings.

### Output

### Input

| Field | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| `mode` | `products` (default) or `suppliers` |
| `searchQueries` | Keywords, one search each |
| `startUrls` | Alibaba search URLs (your filters are kept), showroom URLs or product URLs |
| `supplierCountries` | Two-letter country codes; each country is searched separately |
| `maxItemsPerQuery`, `maxItems` | Limit per keyword / URL and for the whole run |
| `includeDetails` | Open every product page for the starred fields (always on in Suppliers mode) |
| `tradeAssuranceOnly`, `verifiedSuppliersOnly`, `samplesAvailableOnly` | Alibaba's own filters |
| `minOrderQuantityFrom`, `minOrderQuantityTo`, `minPrice`, `maxPrice` | Order quantity and unit price range |
| `minSupplierRating` | 4, 4.5 or 5 and up |
| `sortBy` | Best match, sales volume or response rate |
| `maxConcurrency`, `proxyConfiguration` | Speed and proxy (keep Apify Residential, country US) |

Example, low-MOQ stainless steel tumblers from verified suppliers in China, best sellers first:

```json
{
    "mode": "products",
    "searchQueries": ["stainless steel tumbler"],
    "supplierCountries": ["CN"],
    "verifiedSuppliersOnly": true,
    "minOrderQuantityTo": 50,
    "sortBy": "salesVolume",
    "maxItemsPerQuery": 100,
    "includeDetails": true
}
```

Example, a supplier lead list for garden hoses made in India:

```json
{
    "mode": "suppliers",
    "searchQueries": ["garden hose"],
    "supplierCountries": ["IN"],
    "maxItemsPerQuery": 100
}
```

### Limits worth knowing

- Without filters Alibaba serves about 20,000 results per keyword; with filters or a sort about 4,800. Use several keywords, countries or price ranges to go further.
- Prices are in US dollars when the default US proxy country is kept.
- Alibaba shows a slider after a few requests from one IP, so the actor changes IP for every request. Keep the default Residential proxy setting; without it most runs will be blocked.
- Each product and each supplier is returned once per run, even if several keywords find it.

### Scheduling and integrations

Run it on a schedule (for example weekly) and send the dataset to Google Sheets, Slack, Airtable or your own webhook with Apify integrations. The `rank`, `priceLadder` and `orders6m` fields make week-over-week comparisons easy.

### Use it from AI assistants

The actor can be called from the Apify MCP server and from the Apify API, so an AI assistant can ask for "the ten best-selling low-MOQ yoga mats from verified suppliers in India" and read the rows back.

### FAQ

**Do I get suppliers' emails or phone numbers?** No. Alibaba only shows these to logged-in buyers who send an inquiry. You get the contact person's name and job title when Alibaba shows them, the supplier's store URL and the trade figures; reach the supplier through its store.

**Which supplier details are missing?** Factory size, staff counts and similar company-profile fields, supplier verification reports and store reviews are not included.

**How fresh is the data?** Every run reads Alibaba live.

**Why did my run stop early with "blocked"?** Alibaba rate-limits aggressively. The actor retries on new IPs and keeps what it collected; run it again with the same input to continue where it stopped, and make sure the proxy is Apify Residential.

**Is it legal?** The actor collects publicly visible product and company information. You are responsible for using it in line with Alibaba's terms and applicable law, and for not using personal data without a legal basis.

# Actor input Schema

## `mode` (type: `string`):

<b>Products</b>: one row per product. <b>Suppliers</b>: one row per unique supplier found by your search (contact person, job title, response time, on-time delivery, orders in the last 6 months), plus one sample product.

## `searchQueries` (type: `array`):

One search per keyword, e.g. <code>stainless steel tumbler</code>, <code>led strip lights</code>. Each product (or supplier) is returned once per run.

## `startUrls` (type: `array`):

Optional. Paste a search results page (<code>alibaba.com/trade/search?SearchText=…</code> with your filters), a showroom page (<code>alibaba.com/showroom/led-light.html</code>) or a product page (<code>alibaba.com/product-detail/…\_1600123456789.html</code>).

## `supplierCountries` (type: `array`):

Only suppliers located in these countries (two-letter codes such as <code>CN</code>, <code>IN</code>, <code>VN</code>, <code>TR</code>). Each country runs as its own search, so you get up to the per-keyword limit for every country.

## `maxItemsPerQuery` (type: `integer`):

Stop each keyword or search URL after this many rows. Without filters Alibaba serves about 20,000 results per keyword; with filters about 4,800.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Hard limit for the whole run across all keywords and URLs.

## `includeDetails` (type: `boolean`):

Open every product page to add the price tiers, specs, SKU options, lead time, certificates and the supplier block (contact person, response time, on-time delivery, 6-month orders). Billed per product as an extra event. Always on for <b>Suppliers</b> (billed per supplier).

## `tradeAssuranceOnly` (type: `boolean`):

Only products from suppliers that offer Alibaba Trade Assurance order protection.

## `verifiedSuppliersOnly` (type: `boolean`):

Only suppliers whose credentials were inspected by a third-party company.

## `samplesAvailableOnly` (type: `boolean`):

Only products that can be ordered as a sample.

## `minOrderQuantityFrom` (type: `integer`):

Only products whose minimum order is at least this many units.

## `minOrderQuantityTo` (type: `integer`):

Only products you can buy in a quantity of this many units or fewer (for example 10 to find low-MOQ products).

## `minPrice` (type: `number`):

Lowest unit price. Prices are in US dollars when the default US proxy country is kept.

## `maxPrice` (type: `number`):

Highest unit price.

## `minSupplierRating` (type: `string`):

Only suppliers with at least this store rating (out of 5).

## `sortBy` (type: `string`):

Order of the results. <b>Sales volume</b> ranks by units sold in the last 180 days; <b>Response rate</b> ranks by supplier response rate.

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

How many product pages are opened at the same time. Lower it if you see blocks.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Alibaba shows a slider after a few requests from one IP, so the actor needs a new IP for every request: keep Apify <b>Residential</b> proxies with country <b>US</b> (also gives US-dollar prices).
