## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## SEC Form D Scraper – Recently Funded Companies

Get **recently funded US companies** straight from SEC EDGAR **Form D** filings: the company's **phone number and address**,
its **executives and directors**, the amount raised so far and the offering size, investor count, industry, year of
incorporation and funding history. Filter by sector, state, amount raised and company age, and schedule it for a daily or
weekly feed. Official public data, no login, no API key.

### Who uses it

- **B2B sales and agencies**: companies that just raised money and are about to spend it, with a phone number and named executives.
- **Recruiters**: newly funded startups that will be hiring.
- **Investors and analysts**: private placements by sector, state and size, as they are filed.
- **Service providers** (accounting, legal, banking, insurance, SaaS): fresh prospects every week.

### What you get (one row per company)

| Field | Example |
| ----- | ------- |
| `company_name`, `cik` | `Granted Inc.`, `2160959` |

| Field | Default | Description |
| ----- | ------- | ----------- |
| `startDate`, `endDate`, `daysBack` | last 7 days | Filing date range (up to 10 years) |
| `sectors` | operating companies | technology, health care, energy, financial services, business services, manufacturing, retail, restaurants, travel, agriculture, real estate, investment funds, other |

Most Form D filers are investment funds and real-estate vehicles. By default the actor returns operating companies only (it
leaves out the investment-fund and real-estate sectors and fund-like names), and filings removed by any filter are free.

### Scheduling and integrations

Schedule a daily run with `daysBack: 1` (or weekly with `daysBack: 7`) to get every new filing once, and send the rows to
Google Sheets, HubSpot, Salesforce, a webhook, Make, Zapier or n8n with Apify integrations.

### Use it from AI agents (MCP)

AI assistants that support MCP can call this actor through Apify's MCP server (`https://mcp.apify.com`), for example
"list health-care companies in Massachusetts that filed a Form D this week and raised over $2M".

### FAQ

**What is a Form D?** A notice US companies file with the SEC within 15 days of first selling securities in a private
offering under Regulation D (most startup rounds and private funds). It is public.

**Does it cover companies outside the US?** It covers every Form D filer, including foreign issuers raising money in the US.

**Do I get emails or websites?** No. Form D does not include them; it includes the issuer's phone number, address and
the names of executives and directors.

**How fresh is it?** Filings appear on EDGAR the day they are filed; a daily schedule keeps you current.

**Is it legal?** Form D filings are public records published by the SEC. Use contact data in line with the laws that
apply to you (for example CAN-SPAM, TCPA for calls, GDPR).

**Something broke?** Open an issue on the actor's Issues tab.
