## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## AmbitionBox Reviews, Salaries & Interviews Scraper

Copying AmbitionBox by hand is a slow loop of reviews, salary tables, and interview pages. Paste a company and the ratings, pay, questions, and benefits land in your dataset.

👉 [Start free on Apify](https://apify.com/sign-up?fpr=cbgdsf), **no credit card required.**

### Engineering Excellence & Reliability 🚀

- **Company**: Paste a slug such as `tcs`, a name such as `Tata Consultancy Services`, or any AmbitionBox company URL. A long slug is resolved to the public company (`tata-consultancy-services` becomes `tcs`).
- **One run, several pages**: Reviews, salaries, interviews, benefits, and the company overview. A URL picks that page. A slug uses **Data types**.
- **Full review lists**: Reviews past the site's first 10,000 are included. Duplicates are skipped.
- **Full public records**: Names, photos, answers, and company email and phone are kept when AmbitionBox returns them.
- **Ready to use**: clean JSON, CSV, Excel, or API. One record is one row.

### ▶️ Start

1. 👉 [Create a free Apify account](https://apify.com/sign-up?fpr=cbgdsf), **no credit card required.**
2. Open this actor, paste a company, and choose the pages below.
3. Hit **Start** and download JSON, CSV, Excel, or pull the rows via API.

### 🛠️ How to use

A slug or name uses **Data types**. A URL selects its own page:

- `https://www.ambitionbox.com/reviews/tcs-reviews`
- `https://www.ambitionbox.com/salaries/tcs-salaries`
- `https://www.ambitionbox.com/interviews/tcs-interview-questions`
- `https://www.ambitionbox.com/overview/tcs-overview`
- `https://www.ambitionbox.com/benefits/tcs-benefits`

A `/jobs/...` link is not scraped. The run exits with the status message **AmbitionBox job pages are not scraped.**

**🎚️ Filters & options**

- **`maxItems`**: How many reviews, salary roles, benefits, interview questions, and interview experiences to save per company. Default 20. The company overview and the salary and interview summaries are one extra row each.
- **`jobProfile`**: Review filter. Role slug, for example `system-engineer`.
- **`location`**: Review filter. City slug, for example `pune`.
- **`workPolicy`**: `WFO`, `WFH`, or `Hybrid`.
- **`verified`**: Keep reviews AmbitionBox marks as verified.
- **`sort`**: `latest` or `popular`.
- **`minRating` / `maxRating`**: Overall rating from 1 to 5.

}
```
### 🆓 Free tier limitations
We want you to see how this actor works before you commit. To keep things fair for everyone, the **free tier** includes these trial limits:
- **Sample data:** up to **5 items** per run. Salary roles and benefits count toward that 5.
- **Daily cap:** **5 runs** per calendar day (UTC).
- **Between runs:** at least **60 seconds** before you can start another run.
#### Upgrade when you're ready!
Use the free tier to decide if this actor fits your project. Paid Apify plans remove these wait times and caps so you can run at full volume—[**upgrade to a paid plan**](https://apify.com/pricing?fpr=cbgdsf).
### 📦 What’s in the Box?
Every data row is flat: `dataType`, `companyId`, `companyName`, and `companySlug` sit next to the rest of the columns, so a CSV export is one column per field. Lists such as chips, topics, and interview rounds are joined into a single text column. Names, photos, answers, and contact fields are kept when AmbitionBox returns them.
| `dataType` | What you get |
| --- | --- |
| `overview` | One company row. Rating, seven sub-ratings, distribution, industry, HQ, size, logo, email, phone, counts. |
| `review` | One review. Title, overall rating, seven sub-ratings, likes, dislikes, role, location, work policy, reviewer, URL. |
| `salaryOverview` | Company salary summary. |
| `salaryByDesignation` | One role, up to `maxItems`. CTC in INR and LPA, experience band, data-point count. |
| `salaryRecord` | One salary submission, up to `maxItems`, when AmbitionBox returns individual submissions. |
| `interviewInsights` | One summary. Count, experience rating, difficulty split, duration split. |
| `interviewQuestion` | One question, its answer, answer count, and URL. |
| `interviewExperience` | One interview card. Role, difficulty, outcome, rounds, questions, and the posted name. |
| `benefit` | One benefit, up to `maxItems`. Name, category, and the share of employees who report it. |
