## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

### What does Facebook to Phone Number Finder do?

**Facebook to Phone Number Finder** takes a list of Facebook profiles and returns the phone number on
record for the person behind each one, together with their name, job title, current company, location and LinkedIn profile URL.
It is a Facebook to phone number lookup for sales, recruiting and CRM enrichment.

- **One narrow row per entry**: the phone number you asked for and just
  enough of the person's card to recognise them.
- **You pay only when the phone number is found.** A miss, a person with no
  phone number on record, a removed profile and an invalid entry are free
  rows that say why.
- **Up to 1,000 entries per run**, from the form, the API or an MCP client.
- **A database lookup.** Nothing is crawled while your run is in progress,
  and no login, cookies or API key are needed.
- **Contact data, handled plainly.** Numbers are returned as recorded and are not labelled mobile or direct.

### What data do you get from a Facebook profile?

| Field | Example | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| `_status` | `found` | `found`, `no_phone`, `not_found`, `ambiguous`, `profile_removed`, `invalid`, `paused`, `error` |
| `_input` | `{"facebook": "jane.doe"}` | the entry as it was looked up |
| `primaryPhone` | `+15125550142` | the first number on record, as recorded |
| `phones` | `["+15125550142"]` | every number on record |
| `phoneCount` | `1` | numbers on the row |
| `linkedinUrl` | `https://www.linkedin.com/in/jane-doe-example` | on every `found` row |
| `fullName` | `Jane Doe` | when on record |
| `jobTitle`, `company` | `VP Marketing`, `Acme Example` | current role, when on record |
| `location`, `country` | `Austin, Texas, United States`, `US` | when on record |
| `_freshness` | `fresh_90d` | `fresh_90d`, `updated_1y`, `older`, or `unknown` when the record carries no date |
| `_matchCandidates` | `3` | only on `ambiguous` rows |
| `_error` | | a plain sentence on every row that is not `found` |

### How to convert Facebook to phone number (3 steps)

1. Paste your Facebook profiles, one per line.
2. Press **Start** and wait for the run to finish.
3. Export the dataset as CSV, Excel or JSON, or read it through the API.

### How much does Facebook to phone number cost?

| Event | Price | When |
|---|---|---|
| Phone number found | **$0.02** ($20 per 1,000) | the entry resolved to one person and the row carries the phone number |
| Everything else | **$0** | no match, a match with no phone number on record, several people on one Facebook profile, removed profile, invalid entry |

A small per-run start fee may apply; it is shown on the Pricing tab.

### Pay only for what we find — and tell us how we did

You pay only for rows that carry a phone number. Every miss is free and says why, so a test run on your own list costs only what it finds.

If the Actor saved you time, please leave a short review on the **Reviews** tab — it helps other buyers find it, and we read every one. If something looks wrong, open an issue on this Actor and we will fix it.

### Input

```json
{
  "profiles": [
    "https://www.facebook.com/jane.doe",
    "sam.rivera.example"
  ]
}
```

A username or a profile link on facebook.com, m.facebook.com, fb.com or fb.me. The link must carry a **username**: `profile.php?id=…` links, numeric ids, pages and groups name no username and are refused for free instead of being guessed.

### Output

A found row (charged):

```json
{
  "_status": "found",
  "_input": {
    "facebook": "jane.doe"
  },
  "_freshness": "updated_1y",
  "primaryPhone": "+15125550142",
  "phones": [
    "+15125550142"
  ],
  "phoneCount": 1,
  "linkedinUrl": "https://www.linkedin.com/in/jane-doe-example",
  "fullName": "Jane Doe",
  "jobTitle": "VP Marketing",
  "company": "Acme Example",
  "location": "Austin, Texas, United States",
  "country": "US"
}
```

A free row:

```json
{
  "_status": "no_phone",
  "_input": {
    "facebook": "jane.doe"
  },
  "_error": "A person matches this Facebook profile, but no phone number is on record for them. Not charged."
}
```

### Facebook to phone number API, MCP and integrations

Run it from the Apify API, from the Apify MCP server in an AI assistant, or
from Make, n8n and Zapier through their Apify connectors. The input is one
array and the output is one flat row per entry, so it maps onto a
spreadsheet column without reshaping.

### Use cases

- **Sales and RevOps**: add a phone number to leads that arrived with only
  a Facebook profile.
- **Recruiting**: reach a candidate you know only by a Facebook profile.
- **Marketing**: enrich a community, follower or signup list with
  professional context.
- **Developers and AI agents**: one call in, one flat row out.

### FAQ

#### How do I find a phone number from a Facebook profile?

Paste the entry into the input and start the run. If it is on record for
one person and that person has a phone number on record, the row comes back
`found` with it.

#### What is the match rate for Facebook to phone number?

About 20% of usernames resolved in our test sample (8 of 40, 2026-09-30). The sample is small, so treat it as a rough guide. Of the people a Facebook profile resolves to, about 35–45% have a phone number on record. This is a US-centric lookup: 93% of the numbers on record are US (+1) numbers. Your list may do better or worse. Because a lookup
with nothing to return costs nothing, a test run on your own list costs only
what it finds.

#### Am I charged when nothing is found?

No. Every row that is not `found` is free, including a person who matched
but has no phone number on record.

#### What happens when several people share one entry?

We cannot tell which of them you mean, so the row is marked `ambiguous`
with the number of candidates and is not charged.

#### Can I run Facebook to phone number in bulk?

Yes: up to 1,000 entries per run, or send them as a JSON array through the
API and split larger lists into several runs.

#### Does it need cookies, login or an API key?

No. The Actor reads from our own database and never logs in to any network.

#### How fresh is the data?

Each found row carries `_freshness`: `fresh_90d` (record updated within 90
days), `updated_1y`, `older` or `unknown`. People change jobs and contact details;
check before you rely on a row.

#### Is it legal to look up a phone number this way?

That depends on what you do with the result and where you and the person
are. Read "Disclaimer and permitted use" below.

### Use Facebook to Phone Number Finder with AI agents and MCP

This Actor works as a tool for AI agents. Add it to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any other MCP client through the Apify MCP server:

```
https://mcp.apify.com?tools=b2bsearch/facebook-to-phone
```

- **Fast enough for a tool call.** A small request finishes in seconds, so the agent gets its answer inside one call.
- **The agent pays only for results.** Prices are per result (see the pricing section above) and every miss is a free row. Cap what one call may spend with `maxTotalChargeUsd`.
- **Rows explain themselves.** Each row has a `_status`; a row that is not a result says why in `_error`, so the agent can decide what to do next without guessing.

Input an agent can send as is:

```json
{
  "profiles": [
    "https://www.facebook.com/levie"
  ]
}
```

The same Actor is available as a tool in LangChain, CrewAI and the OpenAI Agents SDK, and as a step in n8n, Make and Zapier through the Apify integrations.
