## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Remote Jobs Scraper: 7 remote job boards in one feed

A **remote jobs aggregator** that pulls RemoteOK, Remotive, Himalayas, We Work Remotely, Arbeitnow, Jobicy and Working Nomads into one unified, deduplicated dataset. No login, no API key.

### What does Remote Jobs Scraper do?

- Fetch current remote listings from 7 public job boards in one run.
- Filter by `keywords`, `excludeKeywords`, region, minimum yearly salary and posting age.
- Get title, company, logo, location, salary range, employment type, tags, apply URL and plain-text description.
- Deduplicate jobs across boards by company and title.
- Use `onlyNew` to return only jobs not seen in earlier runs.
- Every item carries the source board and an attribution line.

### Why use it

- **7 boards, one schema**: stop maintaining seven integrations.
- **Deduplicated** across sources, so repeats do not use up your limit.
- **Daily alert ready**: `onlyNew` plus Apify schedules.
- **Low price**: $1.50 per 1,000 jobs.
- **No login, no API key, no proxy.**

### Use cases

- Remote job boards, newsletters and Slack/Discord job bots.
- Salary and skills market research.
- Lead lists of companies hiring remotely for a given stack.
- Hiring-trend tracking by tag or region.
- Feeding a personal job-search alert with keyword filters.

### How to use

1. Open the Actor on Apify and click **Try for free** (or call it through the API).
2. Choose **sources**, add **keywords** (and optional salary/region filters).
3. Click **Start**, then download the dataset as JSON, CSV, Excel or HTML, or read it through the API.

#### Input example

```json
{
  "sources": ["remoteok", "remotive", "himalayas", "weworkremotely", "arbeitnow", "jobicy", "workingnomads"],
  "keywords": ["python", "data engineer"],
  "excludeKeywords": ["intern"],
  "location": "europe",
  "salaryMin": 60000,
  "postedWithinDays": 7,
  "maxJobsPerSource": 10,
  "onlyNew": true,
  "includeDescription": true
}
```

- `keywords` / `excludeKeywords`: case-insensitive match on title, company and tags.
- `location`: substring of the job's location/region; worldwide/anywhere jobs always match.
- `salaryMin`: yearly amount (hourly/monthly are annualised, currency is not converted); jobs without published salary are dropped when set.
- `onlyNew`: skips jobs returned by earlier runs (kept in the named store `remote-jobs-seen`).
- `remoteOnly` (default true): Arbeitnow also lists on-site jobs.
- Jobs are deduplicated across sources by normalised company + title; duplicates do not use up `maxJobsPerSource`.

### Output example

```json
{
  "id": "jobicy:156103",
  "source": "jobicy",
  "title": "Director, Technology Alliances",
  "company": "Apollo.io",
  "companyLogo": "https://jobicy.com/data/...jpeg",
  "location": "USA",
  "remote": true,
  "salaryMin": 190000,
  "salaryMax": 275000,
  "salaryCurrency": "USD",
  "salaryText": null,
  "employmentType": "Full-Time",
  "tags": ["Business Development", "Director"],
  "postedAt": "2026-10-21T04:41:14+00:00",
  "url": "https://jobicy.com/jobs/156103-director-technology-alliances",
  "applyUrl": "https://jobicy.com/jobs/156103-director-technology-alliances",
  "descriptionText": "Apollo.io is the leading go-to-market solution...",
  "attribution": "Source: Jobicy (https://jobicy.com). Please link back to the job URL and credit Jobicy."
}
```

### Attribution and terms

Every item carries `url` (the job page on the source board) and `attribution`. RemoteOK, Remotive, Himalayas and others require that you **link back to the job URL and credit the source** when you display the data. Remotive additionally asks that its jobs are not resubmitted to third-party job aggregators (Google Jobs, LinkedIn, Jooble...) and delays its feed by 24h. You are responsible for using the data in line with each source's terms.

### Pricing

Pay per event, no subscription. You pay only for what is returned:

| Event | Price per 1,000 | 1,000 | 10,000 | 100,000 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| job | $1.50 | $1.50 | $15.00 | $150.00 |

Example: 1,000 jobs cost $1.50; 10,000 cost $15.00.

Platform usage (compute) is included in the event price; there is nothing else to pay for.

### Integrations & API

Run it from code with the Apify API. Replace `<APIFY_TOKEN>` with your API token.

**Python** (`pip install apify-client`)

```python
from apify_client import ApifyClient
client = ApifyClient("<APIFY_TOKEN>")
run = client.actor("bachiembmt/remote-jobs-aggregator").call(run_input={"keywords": ["python"], "maxJobsPerSource": 10, "onlyNew": False})
for item in client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).iterate_items():
    print(item)
```

**cURL** (run synchronously and get dataset items)

```bash
curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/bachiembmt~remote-jobs-aggregator/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=<APIFY_TOKEN>" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"keywords": ["python"], "maxJobsPerSource": 10, "onlyNew": false}'
```

Works with:

- **Make** and **Zapier**: use the Apify app/module to run this Actor and pass the dataset on.
- **n8n**: use the Apify node or an HTTP Request node with the API call above.
- **Google Sheets**: export the dataset as CSV, or use the Apify integration to append rows automatically.
- **Webhooks**: trigger your own endpoint when a run finishes; combine with Apify schedules for recurring jobs.
- **AI agents**: expose the Actor as a tool through the [Apify MCP server](https://mcp.apify.com).

### FAQ

**Can I pull only one board?**
Yes, set `sources`.

**Why fewer jobs than `maxJobsPerSource`?**
Each board exposes a limited current feed, or filters, dedupe and `onlyNew` removed the rest.

**Do I have to credit the boards?**
Yes. Several boards require you to link back to the job URL and credit the source when you display jobs; each item has `url` and `attribution`.

**Do I need an account or API key for the source?**
No. The Actor needs no login or source API key. You only need an Apify account to run it.

**Is it legal to scrape this data?**
Only public feeds are used. You are responsible for following each source's terms (attribution, no resubmission to third-party aggregators in Remotive's case). This is general information, not legal advice.

### Limitations

- Each source exposes only its current public feed: Remotive ~10 jobs, Working Nomads ~45, We Work Remotely ~90, RemoteOK ~100, Jobicy up to 100 per run, Himalayas and Arbeitnow paginated (capped at 10 pages per run).
- Salary is only present when the source publishes it; Remotive salary is free text (`salaryText`) and is not parsed to numbers.
- Descriptions are converted to plain text; formatting is simplified.
- Sources can change or block their feeds; a source returning 0 jobs is logged as a warning and never stops the other sources.

# Actor input Schema

## `sources` (type: `array`):

Job boards to query. Leave all selected for everything.

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

Keep jobs whose title, company or tags contain ANY of these (case-insensitive). Empty = all jobs.

## `excludeKeywords` (type: `array`):

Drop jobs whose title, company or tags contain any of these.

## `location` (type: `string`):

e.g. 'europe', 'usa', 'germany'. Jobs open worldwide ('anywhere', 'worldwide') always match. Empty = no filter.

## `salaryMin` (type: `integer`):

Keep only jobs that publish a salary reaching at least this yearly amount (any currency, not converted). 0 = no filter.

## `postedWithinDays` (type: `integer`):

Only jobs posted in the last N days. 0 = no filter.

## `maxJobsPerSource` (type: `integer`):

Applied after filters and deduplication.

## `remoteOnly` (type: `boolean`):

Arbeitnow also lists on-site jobs; keep only those flagged remote.

## `onlyNew` (type: `boolean`):

Skip jobs already returned by a previous run (remembered in the named store 'remote-jobs-seen'). Use for scheduled monitoring.

## `includeDescription` (type: `boolean`):

Add the plain-text job description (larger output).
