## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

NZ suppliers, bid writers and public-sector sales teams use this actor to pull open New Zealand government tenders and award notices from GETS (the Government Electronic Tenders Service) without a login. It returns a clean list with buyer, UNSPSC category, region, open and close dates, winning supplier and notice URL, ready for a CRM, an alert workflow or a weekly bid pipeline. No personal contact data is collected.

### Input

| Field | Description | Example |
|---|---|---|
| `keyword` | Search GETS for this text. Returns up to 100 newest matches of any status (site search cap). Empty = browse the full lists. | `software` |
| `status` | `open` = tenders you can still bid on, `awarded` = award notices with the winning supplier, `all` = both plus closed. Default `open`. | `open` |
| `dateFrom` | Only tenders opened on or after this date (YYYY-MM-DD). | `2026-10-01` |
| `dateTo` | Only tenders opened on or before this date (YYYY-MM-DD). | `2026-10-17` |
| `maxItems` | Maximum tenders returned. Caps your cost. Default 100. | `100` |
| `timeoutSecs` | Stops gracefully after this many seconds and keeps what was found. Default 300. | `300` |

GETS publishes no contract value, so there is no value or `minValue` filter.

### Output fields

`rfxId`, `reference`, `title`, `buyer` (organisation), `department`, `description` (first sentences of the overview, with emails, phone numbers and contact sentences removed), `categoryCode` and `category` (UNSPSC), `region`, `tenderType`, `publishedDate`, `deadline`, `status` (open, closed, awarded), `awardedSuppliers` (company names, award notices only), `awardDate`, `url`. Contact names, emails and phone numbers are dropped.

### Pricing (pay per event)

- Actor start: $0.005 per run
- Result: $0.002 per tender ($2 per 1,000)

The run never fails: on a network error, the charge limit (`maxTotalChargeUsd`) or the time limit it keeps the tenders already saved, sets a status message and ends successfully. Every request has a 30 s timeout and 2 retries.

Data: public pages of gets.govt.nz, fetched without login, captcha or proxy.
