## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## App Store Reviews Scraper

Download **Apple App Store reviews** for any iOS / iPadOS app — from as many countries as you want, in one run. Uses Apple's public reviews feed: no login, no browser, no proxy, so it is fast and cheap.

### Features

- Input App Store **URLs, app IDs or just app names**
- **Multiple countries** per run (Apple serves up to 500 reviews per country — add countries to get thousands)
- Filter by **star rating** (e.g. only 1–2★ complaints) and **date**
- Sort by most recent or most helpful
- Clean output: rating, title, review text, app version, date, helpful votes, reviewer nickname

### Example input

```json
{
  "apps": ["https://apps.apple.com/us/app/notion-notes-tasks-ai/id1232780281", "spotify"],
  "countries": ["us", "gb", "de"],
  "ratings": ["1", "2"],
  "postedWithinDays": 30
}
```

### Example output

```json
{
  "appId": "1232780281",
  "appName": "Notion: Notes, Tasks, AI",
  "country": "us",
  "reviewId": "14728212528",
  "title": "Sync keeps failing",
  "text": "Since the last update ...",
  "rating": 2,
  "appVersion": "1.9.4",
  "userName": "October2026",
  "date": "2026-10-30T04:16:46+00:00",
  "voteSum": 3,
  "voteCount": 4
}
```

### Use cases

- **Product teams:** track complaints after each release (filter 1–2★, last 7 days, schedule daily)
- **Competitor research:** compare what users love and hate across competing apps and countries
- **AI / sentiment analysis:** feed reviews into LLMs, dashboards or Google Sheets
- **ASO agencies:** monitor ratings for client apps

### Pricing

Pay per result — you pay only for records saved to the dataset. Use **Max results in total** to cap the cost of a run.

### FAQ

**Why at most 500 reviews per country?** That is how many Apple's public feed serves per storefront. Add more countries to collect more.

**An app returns nothing in a country.** The app may not be sold there or has no written reviews in that storefront.

# Actor input Schema

## `apps` (type: `array`):

App Store URLs (e.g. `https://apps.apple.com/us/app/notion/id1232780281`), numeric app IDs, or app names (the first search result is used).

## `countries` (type: `array`):

Two-letter App Store country codes. Apple serves up to 500 reviews per country, so adding countries gets you more reviews. Default: `us`.

## `sortBy` (type: `string`):

Order in which Apple returns reviews.

## `ratings` (type: `array`):

Keep only these star ratings, e.g. 1 and 2 for complaints. Empty = all.

## `postedWithinDays` (type: `integer`):

Keep only reviews from the last N days.

## `maxReviewsPerApp` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many reviews per app (across all countries).

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Stop the whole run after this many reviews.
