## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Google Play Reviews Scraper

Scrape **Google Play Store reviews for any Android app** — star rating, review text, app version, date, likes and the developer's reply — for as many apps, countries and languages as you need in one run. Paste a Play Store URL, a package name or just the app's name.

### Why this scraper

- **Any app, many storefronts in one run** — URLs, package names (`com.spotify.music`) or app names (top search result).
- **Filters that save money** — only 1–2 star reviews, only the last N days, a cap per app: you pay only for what you keep.
- **The developer's reply included** — see how (and how fast) a company answers complaints.
- **Monitored every 3 hours** — the source endpoints are checked automatically, so a change on Google's side is caught and fixed fast.

### What you get

One record per review:

- app ID, app name, country, language
- rating (1–5), review text, likes (thumbs up)
- app version the review was written for
- review date and the developer's reply with its date (ISO 8601)
- reviewer's public display name

### How to use

1. Add apps: Play Store URLs, package names or app names.
2. Choose the review language (`en`, `de`, `es`, …) and countries. Google Play groups reviews mostly by language, so one country per language usually gets them all; duplicates across countries are removed.
3. Optionally keep only some star ratings or recent reviews, and cap reviews per app.
4. Run and export to JSON, CSV, Excel, or pull the data via API / integrations (Make, Zapier, n8n, Google Sheets).

#### Example input

```json
{
  "apps": ["https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.spotify.music", "notion"],
  "countries": ["us"],
  "language": "en",
  "ratings": ["1", "2"],
  "postedWithinDays": 30,
  "maxReviewsPerApp": 500
}
```

#### Example output

```json
{
  "appId": "com.spotify.music",
  "appName": "Spotify: Music and Podcasts",
  "country": "us",
  "language": "en",
  "reviewId": "c8c02a04-226c-4c33-9499-303147ece2f7",
  "rating": 1,
  "text": "adds on premium now, can't remove card information, can't contact a human ...",
  "thumbsUp": 0,
  "appVersion": "9.1.94.1929",
  "date": "2026-10-31T16:48:29+00:00",
  "replyText": null,
  "repliedAt": null,
  "appUrl": "https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.spotify.music"
}
```

### Use cases

- **Product teams** — find the bugs and feature requests users complain about, per app version.
- **Competitor research** — compare ratings and complaints across rival apps.
- **App marketing & ASO agencies** — monitor client apps daily and report on sentiment.
- **AI and sentiment analysis** — clean review text ready for an LLM or a classifier.

### Use it with AI agents

This actor works as a tool for AI agents and LLM apps through the [Apify MCP server](https://mcp.apify.com) (Claude, Cursor, VS Code and other MCP clients) and through Apify's integrations for LangChain, LlamaIndex, Make, Zapier and n8n. Ask your agent for the data in plain words; it fills the input for you.

### Pricing

Pay per result: you are charged only for reviews saved to the dataset. Set **Max reviews per app** or **Max results in total** to cap the cost of a run.

### FAQ

**How do I export Google Play reviews to Excel or CSV?** Add the app, click **Start**, then download the dataset as CSV or Excel.

**How do I get only negative reviews?** Select star ratings 1 and 2.

**Can I monitor new reviews of my app every day?** Yes. Schedule the run daily with **Posted within (days)** = 1 and connect the dataset to Slack, email or Google Sheets.

**Why do two countries return the same reviews?** Google Play shows reviews by language; the same English reviews appear in the US and the UK. The scraper removes the duplicates, so you're not charged twice.

**Is it legal?** The scraper reads only publicly visible reviews. It returns the reviewer's public display name but no profile photo, email or other personal data.

**Something broke or you need a field?** Open an issue on the Issues tab — we usually respond within a day.
