## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## SmartRecruiters Jobs Scraper

Scrape every open job from SmartRecruiters-hosted job boards — fast, reliable and cheap. The scraper uses the official public job-board API, so there is no browser, no proxy and no blocking: runs finish in seconds and almost never fail.

### What you get

One clean, normalized record per job:

- title, company, department, team, employment type
- location, all locations, remote / workplace type
- posting date and last update (ISO 8601)
- salary range and currency when the company publishes it
- full description as plain text **and** HTML
- direct job URL and apply URL

The output format is identical across our ATS scrapers (Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workday, SmartRecruiters), so datasets from different platforms merge without any mapping.

### How to use

1. Add companies: the company identifier, e.g. `BoschGroup` from `jobs.smartrecruiters.com/BoschGroup`.
2. Optionally filter by title keywords, locations, remote-only or posting date.
3. Run and export to JSON, CSV, Excel, or pull the data via API / integrations (Make, Zapier, n8n, Google Sheets).

#### Example input

```json
{
  "companies": [
    "BoschGroup",
    "https://jobs.smartrecruiters.com/Visa"
  ],
  "keywords": [
    "engineer"
  ],
  "remoteOnly": false,
  "postedWithinDays": 30
}
```

#### Example output

```json
{
  "ats": "smartrecruiters",
  "company": "Stripe",
  "jobId": "6789012",
  "title": "Backend Engineer, Payments",
  "url": "https://...",
  "location": "Dublin, Ireland",
  "remote": null,
  "department": "Engineering",
  "postedAt": "2026-10-28T00:00:00+00:00",
  "salaryMin": null,
  "salaryMax": null,
  "salaryCurrency": null,
  "descriptionText": "About the team ..."
}
```

### Use cases

- **Job boards & aggregators** — keep listings fresh straight from the source.
- **Recruiters & sales teams** — find companies that are hiring for roles you serve (hiring = buying signal).
- **Market & salary research** — track hiring trends by company, function and location.
- **Job seekers** — get alerts for new roles at your target companies (schedule the run daily with `postedWithinDays: 1`).

### Pricing

Pay per result: you are charged only for jobs that are saved to the dataset. Set **Max jobs in total** to cap the cost of a run.

### FAQ

**Is it legal?** The scraper reads only public job postings published by the companies themselves through the platform's public job-board API. No personal data is collected.

**A company returns no jobs.** Check the identifier — open the company's careers page and copy the URL. The run summary (key-value store → `RUN_SUMMARY`) lists every company that failed and why.

**Something broke or you need a field?** Open an issue on the Issues tab — we usually respond within a day.

# Actor input Schema

Keep only jobs whose title contains at least one of these words (case-insensitive), e.g. `engineer`, `data`. Leave empty for all jobs.

## `excludeKeywords` (type: `array`):

Drop jobs whose title contains any of these words, e.g. `intern`, `senior`.

## `searchInDescription` (type: `boolean`):

Also match keywords against the full job description.
