## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## TED EU Tenders Scraper

Search public procurement notices published on TED (Tenders Electronic Daily, ted.europa.eu), the official journal for public tenders in the European Union, the EEA and partner countries. You get one clean row per notice: notice id, title, buyer, country, CPV codes, procedure, notice type, publication date, bid deadline, estimated value and currency, number of lots, winners and awarded value for award notices, and links to the notice page, its PDF and the buyer's tender documents.

Use it for tender monitoring and alerts: schedule a daily run with "published in the last 1 day", your countries and CPV codes, and send the new rows to email, Slack or a spreadsheet.

### Quick Start

The latest notices, newest first:

```json
{"maxResults": 20}
```

Open software tenders from German and French buyers:

```json
{
  "query": "software",
  "countries": ["DE", "FR"],
  "cpvCodes": ["72000000"],
  "openForBidsOnly": true,
  "maxResults": 300
}
```

Contract awards for construction work in Poland published this week:

```json
{
  "countries": ["PL"],
  "cpvCodes": ["45000000"],
  "noticeTypes": ["result"],
  "publishedWithinDays": 7
}
```

### Input

| Field | Type | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---:|---|
| `query` | string | `""` | Words searched in the full notice text, in any EU language. Every word must appear; "double quotes" match a phrase. |
| `countries` | array | `[]` | Buyer countries as ISO codes, two letters (`DE`, `FR`, `EL` or `GR`, `UK`) or three (`DEU`). |
| `cpvCodes` | array | `[]` | CPV codes such as `72000000` or `45000000-7`; a notice matches if any of its codes match. |
| `includeCpvSubcodes` | boolean | `true` | A code also matches the codes below it (`72000000` matches `72212000`). Turn off for exact codes. |
| `noticeTypes` | array | `[]` | `planning`, `competition` (contract notices), `dir-awa-pre`, `result` (contract awards), `cont-modif`. |
| `openForBidsOnly` | boolean | `false` | Only contract notices with at least one lot still accepting tenders. |
| `publishedWithinDays` | integer | none | Only notices published in the last N days (UTC, today included). |
| `publishedFrom`, `publishedTo` | string | `""` | Publication date window, `YYYY-MM-DD`. |
| `expertQuery` | string | `""` | Advanced: a TED expert search query added with AND, e.g. `procedure-type IN (open)`. |
| `maxResults` | integer | `50` | Maximum notices returned, newest first. Up to 50,000. |

All filters are optional and can be combined. An empty input returns the newest notices from the last 30 days.

### What it returns

Every row has `tenderKey`, `noticeId`, `noticeVersion`, `procedureId`, `ojsNumber`, `title`, `titleLanguage`, `titleEnglish`, `description`, `buyer`, `buyers`, `buyerCity`, `country`, `buyerCountries`, `placeOfPerformanceCountries`, `cpvCodes`, `mainCpvCode`, `contractNature`, `procedureType`, `procedureTypeLabel`, `noticeType`, `noticeTypeLabel`, `formType`, `isOpenForBids`, `publishedAt`, `dispatchedAt`, `bidDeadline`, `lastBidDeadline`, `requestDeadline`, `estimatedValue`, `estimatedValueCurrency`, `awardedValue`, `awardedValueCurrency`, `winners`, `lotsCount`, `url`, `pdfUrl`, `documentUrl`, `submissionUrl`, `sourceQuery`, `source` and `scrapedAt`.

Dates are `YYYY-MM-DD`; deadlines are ISO 8601 with the buyer's time zone offset. Values are numbers without VAT, in the currency given next to them. Countries are ISO 3166-1 alpha-3 codes. Titles, descriptions and buyer names are in the language the buyer published them in (English when the buyer gave an English version); `titleEnglish` is TED's English headline for every notice.

```
### Limits and caveats
- A run delivers roughly 4,000 notices a minute; TED sometimes asks for a short pause, which the run handles on its own.
- Notices published before the EU's eForms switch (late 2023) carry fewer fields: no lots, deadlines or document links, and the estimate only as a total value.
- `estimatedValue` and `awardedValue` are filled only when the buyer published them; many notices leave them out. When a notice gives only per-lot estimates in one currency, `estimatedValue` is their sum.
- `bidDeadline` is the earliest lot deadline and `lastBidDeadline` the latest. `openForBidsOnly` keeps a notice while any lot is still open.
### FAQ
**How fresh is the data?** Every run reads TED live. TED publishes new notices every working day.
**How do I get only new notices each day?** Schedule a daily run with `publishedWithinDays: 1` (or 2, to be safe around midnight) and your filters. Rows are unique per `noticeId`, so you can deduplicate across runs on it.
**How do I follow one procurement from planning to award?** All notices of one procedure share `procedureId`.
**What happens when nothing matches?** The run succeeds with an empty dataset. A filter TED does not accept (for example an unknown country code) stops the run with a clear message.
### Price
You pay per result: each delivered notice row is one result, plus a small run-start charge. The run-start event is charged per GB of memory; the default 512 MB run is one start event. The start is charged even if the run saves no results. Platform usage is included in the price.
# Actor input Schema
## `query` (type: `string`):
Words searched in the full notice text, in any EU language, e.g. 'software maintenance' or 'Windkraft'. Every word must appear; put a phrase in double quotes to match it exactly, e.g. '"wind turbine"'. Up to 200 characters.
## `countries` (type: `array`):
Countries of the contracting authority, as ISO codes: two letters (DE, FR, PL, EL or GR for Greece, UK) or three (DEU, FRA). Leave empty for all countries, including the EEA and other countries that publish on TED.
## `cpvCodes` (type: `array`):
Common Procurement Vocabulary codes, e.g. 72000000 (IT services) or 45000000-7 (construction work). A notice matches if any of its codes match. Shorter codes such as '72' work as a prefix.
## `includeCpvSubcodes` (type: `boolean`):
When on, a CPV code also matches every code below it in the CPV tree (72000000 matches 72212000). Turn off to match the listed codes exactly.
## `noticeTypes` (type: `array`):
Stage of the procurement. Leave empty for all types.
## `openForBidsOnly` (type: `boolean`):
Only contract notices with at least one lot still accepting tenders at run time. Overrides 'Notice types'.
## `publishedWithinDays` (type: `integer`):
Only notices published in the last N days, today (UTC) included. TED publishes on working days. Do not combine with 'Published from'.
## `publishedFrom` (type: `string`):
Earliest publication date, YYYY-MM-DD (inclusive).
## `publishedTo` (type: `string`):
Latest publication date, YYYY-MM-DD (inclusive).
## `expertQuery` (type: `string`):
A query in TED's expert search syntax, added to the other filters with AND, e.g. 'procedure-type IN (open) AND contract-nature-main-proc IN (works)'. Do not include SORT BY.
## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):
Maximum notices returned, newest first. Up to 50,000.
