## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Website Contact Extractor: Emails, Phones, Socials & Company

**Turn a list of websites — or your Google Maps results — into ready-to-use contacts: emails, phone numbers, social profiles, contact forms and company data. From $0.0008 per page.**

> 🎉 **Launch offer: the first 25 pages of every run are free** until 19 November 2026. Try it on your own list — a run of 4–5 websites costs nothing.

- ✅ Emails ranked by quality (own domain, deliverable, generic inbox first)
- ✅ **MX check** on every email domain
- ✅ Phones from links, text and schema.org
- ✅ LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, WhatsApp, Telegram, GitHub
- ✅ **Contact page and contact form URL**
- ✅ **Company data** from schema.org: legal name, address, city, country, logo, description
- ✅ Enrich Google Maps / any scraper dataset
- ✅ Polite crawling (robots.txt respected)

### Why this Actor

| | This Actor | Typical contact scrapers |
|---|---|---|
| Price | **$0.0008 per page**, down to $0.0005 on paid plans | $0.001–0.002 per page + start fees |
| Best email per website | **Yes** — own domain, MX-valid, not Gmail/Outlook, info@/contact@ first | You pick from a raw list |
| Email quality flags | role vs personal, own domain, free mailbox, MX-valid, page found on | Rarely |
| Contact form URL | **Yes** | No |
| Company data (address, logo, legal name) | **Yes**, from schema.org | No |
| Google Maps enrichment | Pick the dataset, website field auto-detected, business name kept | Separate Actor |
| Smart crawling | Homepage + contact/about/team/imprint/legal pages first (multi-language) | Crawl everything |

### How it works

1. Add websites (URLs or bare domains), or pick datasets from other Actors such as **Google Maps Scraper** — the `website` field is detected automatically.
2. For each website the Actor reads robots.txt, opens the homepage, then the most contact-like pages (contact, about, team, imprint, legal, privacy… in English, Spanish, Catalan, French, German, Italian and Portuguese).
3. You get one record per website with the best email and phone, every email with quality flags, social profiles, contact page and form, and company data.

### Output (one record per website)

| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `primaryEmail`, `primaryPhone` | The best contact to use |
| `emails` | Every email with `type` (role/personal), `sameDomain`, `freeProvider`, `mxValid`, `foundOn` |
| `phones` | Phone numbers (international format when written with a country code) and where they were found |
| `socials` | Every profile URL per network |
| `linkedin`, `instagram`, `facebook`, `x`, `tiktok`, `youtube` | **Flat columns** — first profile per network, ready for Excel, Google Sheets or your CRM |
| `address`, `city`, `country` | Company location from schema.org, as flat columns |
| `contactPageUrl`, `contactFormUrl` | Where to get in touch |
| `company` | schema.org data: name, legal name, address, city, postal code, country, logo, description, phone, email |
| `companyName`, `language`, `sourceName` | Site name, page language, and the name from your dataset (e.g. the Google Maps business) |
| `status` | `ok`, `no-contacts`, `blocked-by-robots` or `error` |

Views: **Overview** (one row per website, flat columns — export to CSV/Excel and import straight into a CRM), **All emails** (one row per email), **Company data**.

### Use cases

- **Lead generation:** Google Maps businesses → emails and phones in one extra step.
- **Sales and partnerships:** find the right inbox (sales@, press@, partners@) and the contact form.
- **Agencies:** enrich prospect lists with socials and company data.
- **Data hygiene:** refresh contact details of existing accounts; MX check flags dead domains.
- **Automations:** n8n, Make, Zapier, the Apify API or MCP (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor).

### Pricing (pay per event)

| Event | Free plan | Paid plans |
|---|---|---|
| `page-crawled` — one page fetched and analysed | $0.0008 | down to $0.0005 |
| `apify-actor-start` — once per run, per GB of memory (from 20 Nov 2026; default 512 MB = one event) | $0.0005 | $0.0005 |

A typical website needs 3–6 pages → **$0.0024–0.0048 per website**. Until 19 November 2026 the first 25 pages of every run are free (launch offer). Pages blocked by robots.txt and unreachable websites are never charged. Email MX checks are free.

### Good to know

- Only public pages are read; robots.txt and Crawl-delay are respected; no login, no CAPTCHA solving. Addresses hidden on purpose (e.g. email protection scripts) are not decoded.
- Contact data can be personal data. Use it in line with the GDPR/CAN-SPAM and the law of your country (legitimate interest, opt-out, no spam).

# Actor input Schema

## `startUrls` (type: `array`):

Company websites as URLs or bare domains (example.com). One result per website.

## `datasetIds` (type: `array`):

Add contacts to results from other Actors, e.g. Google Maps Scraper: the website field is detected automatically and the business name is kept.

## `websiteField` (type: `string`):

Field that holds the website in the dataset items (e.g. website). Dot notation works. Leave empty for auto-detection.

## `maxPagesPerSite` (type: `integer`):

Homepage first, then the most contact-like pages (contact, about, team, imprint, legal, privacy…). 4–6 finds contacts on most sites.

## `maxSites` (type: `integer`):

Hard cap for the whole run.

## `requestsPerSecondPerHost` (type: `number`):

Polite crawling: robots.txt and Crawl-delay are always respected.

## `sameDomainEmailsOnly` (type: `boolean`):

Drop emails on other domains (agencies, platforms, Gmail…).

## `verifyEmailDomains` (type: `boolean`):

Marks emails whose domain cannot receive mail (mxValid: false). Free.

## `healthCheck` (type: `boolean`):

Internal. Never charged.
