## Pricing

from $2.00 / 1,000 results

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## 🛒 Coles Scraper: Australia Grocery Prices, Specials & Stores (no login)

Export Coles Australia (coles.com.au) products with shelf price, was-price, unit price, half-price and multibuy specials, stock and aisle, for any search term, category, the specials list or single products, and for the stores you name. Switch on details for barcode, ingredients, allergens and nutrition. A built-in watch tells you which prices went up or down since your last run. No login, no cookies, no browser and no proxy setup. Export to JSON/CSV/Excel, run on a schedule, call via API, or connect to Make, Zapier or n8n.

**What a run costs:** from November 8, 2026, $0.001 per product on the Free plan, down to $0.00085 from Gold. Product page details add $0.0005 per product ($0.000425 from Gold), only when you switch them on. A list without results, an unknown store number and the unchanged products a watch leaves out cost nothing. There is no start fee beyond Apify's $0.00005. Until November 8 the price this listing carried before applies: $0.0025 per product, and details are not charged.

### 🔎 What is the Coles Scraper?

It reads the same data the coles.com.au pages load in your browser: 48 products per search or category page, the whole specials list (about 7,000 products), and a product's page when you want its label data. Prices on Coles depend on the store, so every row says which store it is for.

#### What data does it extract?

- **Prices:** shelf price, was-price, saving, unit price and unit (per kg, per L, each), the comparable price text as shown
- **Specials:** on special or not, kind of special (for example half price or multibuy), the offer text ("Pick any 2 for $5"), multibuy quantity and unit price, online-only specials
- **Stock and limits:** in stock at the store, how it is sold (in store and online), most items per order, most items at the special price
- **Placement:** department, category, online aisle, shelf aisle when Coles gives it, sponsored placements marked
- **Details (optional):** barcode (GTIN), ingredients, allergens, dietary notes, storage, country of origin, nutrition table per serving and per 100 g or mL, all images
- **Watch:** `previous_price` from your last run and `price_change` (`new`, `same`, `up`, `down`) on every row

#### How it differs from the other Coles Actors

| On the leading Coles Actors' listings (October 2026) | This Actor |
|---|---|
| Start fees of $0.005 to $0.008 per run on several of them, which adds up on small scheduled checks | $0.00005 start event; you pay per product |
| Product details sold as part of a larger record or not at all | Details are a switch, $0.0005 per product |
| Store prices on some, national prices only on others | Every row has `store_id`, and you can name as many stores as you like |
| Price watches that compare whatever the run happens to reach | The watch compares only as deep as the previous run read, so a deeper run does not call old products "new" |

An unknown store number is checked before any list is read, named in the status message and not charged. Ad tiles are dropped and sponsored products are marked.

### ⬇️ Input

| Field | Type | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| `searchTerms` | array | Words to search, one list per term |
| `startUrls` | array | Coles links: category (`/browse/...`), specials (`/on-special`, filters kept), search (`/search/products?q=`), product (`/product/...-1234567`) or a bare product id |
| `onSpecial` | boolean | Adds the whole specials list |
| `storeIds` | array | Coles store numbers, e.g. `0584`. Empty: the store coles.com.au picks for a new visitor |
| `maxItems` | integer | Products per list and store (default 20, up to 30,000) |
| `includeDetails` | boolean | Adds barcode, ingredients, allergens and nutrition |
| `onlyChanged` | boolean | Saves only new and changed prices since your last run |

#### Example input

```json
{
  "searchTerms": ["tim tams", "oat milk"],
  "startUrls": ["https://www.coles.com.au/on-special?filter_Special=halfprice"],
  "storeIds": ["0584"],
  "maxItems": 200,
  "includeDetails": false,
  "onlyChanged": false
}
```

### ⬆️ Output

```json
{
  "product_id": "8150288",
  "name": "Full Cream Milk",
  "brand": "Coles",
  "description": "COLES FULL CREAM MILK 3L",
  "size": "3L",
  "unit_price": 1.65,
  "unit_measure": "1l",
  "comparable_price": "$1.65/ 1L",
  "on_special": false,
  "special_type": null,
  "offer": null,
  "available": true,
  "position": 1,
  "has_details": false,
  "scraped_at": "2026-10-25T21:31:23+00:00"
}
```

With details on, a row also carries `gtin`, `ingredients`, `allergens`, `dietary`, `storage`, `country_of_origin`, `long_description`, `serving_size`, `servings_per_package`, `nutrition` and `images`. A `SUMMARY` record in the run's key-value store lists what was read, what was empty and why the run stopped.

### 🤖 For AI agents

No credential is needed. Copy this input and change the terms:

```json
{"searchTerms": ["milk"], "maxItems": 20}
```

Every input is optional; an empty input searches "milk". Rows come back as JSON through `run-sync-get-dataset-items`.

### 💡 Use cases

- 🏷️ **Price monitoring:** schedule a daily run with `onlyChanged` and get only the prices that moved
- 🧾 **Specials feeds:** export the half-price and multibuy list every Wednesday for a deals site or newsletter
- 🗺️ **Store comparison:** read the same basket at several stores and compare by `store_id`
- 🥗 **Product data:** barcodes, ingredients, allergens and nutrition for a food app or a catalogue

### ⚖️ Limits, plainly

- Coles itself ends a search after the results it finds; a category or the specials list goes to its last page.
- Store numbers are not looked up for you: give the four-digit number of the store.
- The watch is kept per account and store in a key-value store named `coles-price-watch`. A run that is moved to another server keeps its rows, but prices read before the move are compared again next time.
- Coles turns away datacenter addresses, so the Actor reads through Australian residential connections, included in the price.
- Measured from our server: 20 products in 4 seconds, 448 products from four lists and two stores with details in under three minutes.

### ❓ FAQ

**Do I need a Coles account or cookies?** No. The Actor reads what any visitor of coles.com.au sees.

**Which store are prices for when I give none?** The store coles.com.au assigns to a new visitor; `store_id` is then empty.

**How do I get only price changes?** Set `onlyChanged` to true and run on a schedule. The first run saves everything as `new`; later runs save only `up`, `down` and newly listed products.

**Are half-price specials included?** Yes. `special_type` says which kind, `offer` holds the text, and the specials link with `?filter_Special=halfprice` reads only half-price products.

**What happens with an unknown store number?** It is checked before any list is read, skipped, named in the status message and not charged.

**Does it read Woolworths or ALDI?** No, Coles only.

**How fast is it?** About 48 products per request, one to two seconds each. Details add one request per product, four at a time.

**Is it legal?** It reads publicly visible product and price data, no personal data. Check Coles' terms for your use and do not overload the site; the Actor reads one list at a time.

**Can I call it from my code?** Yes, through the Apify API or any Apify integration, and every run can be scheduled.

# Actor input Schema

## `searchTerms` (type: `array`):

Words to search on coles.com.au, one list per term, for example 'tim tams' or 'gluten free bread'. Leave empty when you only give links.

## `startUrls` (type: `array`):

Links from coles.com.au: a category (…/browse/pantry or …/browse/dairy-eggs-fridge/milk), the specials list (…/on-special, also with filters such as ?filter_Special=halfprice), a search (…/search/products?q=…) or a product (…/product/…-1234567). A bare product id works too. Filters and sort order in the link are kept.

## `onSpecial` (type: `boolean`):

Adds every product on special at Coles (about 7,000) as one more list. Set Maximum products per list high enough to get all of them.

## `storeIds` (type: `array`):

Coles store numbers such as 0584. Prices, specials and stock are read for each store separately, one row per product and store. Empty: the store coles.com.au picks for a new visitor. An unknown number returns no rows and is named in the status message.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Products to save for each search term, link and store. A product link gives one.

## `includeDetails` (type: `boolean`):

Opens each product's page for barcode (GTIN), ingredients, allergens, dietary notes, nutrition table, country of origin and all images. Charged as a second event per product.

## `onlyChanged` (type: `boolean`):

Save only products whose price changed since the last run of this Actor on your account for the same store, or that it had not seen. Every row carries previous_price and price_change either way. Unchanged products are read but not saved or charged.
