## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## Job Search Scraper: Indeed, Glassdoor, Google Jobs & ZipRecruiter

**One search, several job boards, one clean list. Search Indeed and Glassdoor
(plus Google Jobs and ZipRecruiter) in 30 countries and get every job
de-duplicated, with salary, job type, posting date, company links and the full
description.**

***

### At a glance

| | |
|---|---|
| **You give it** | A job title or keywords, a location and a country (30 available) |
| **You get** | One row per unique job from Indeed and Glassdoor (plus Google Jobs and ZipRecruiter): pay, job type, company and full description |
| **Price** | $0.002 per job (you only pay for results) |
| **Data source** | The job boards' public search results |
| **Speed** | 100 jobs in well under a minute |

***

### Who it is for

- **Recruiters and staffing agencies** finding companies that are hiring
- **Sales teams** using new job ads as buying signals
- **Job seekers and career coaches** tracking openings across boards in one place
- **Labour market researchers** measuring demand and pay for a role
- **AI agents** that need fresh job data on demand

***

### What you get for each job

| Field | What it means |
|---|---|
| `title`, `company`, `location` | The job and where it is |
| `date_posted` | When it was posted |
| `min_amount`, `max_amount`, `interval`, `currency` | Pay range, e.g. 18 to 20 GBP hourly |
| `salary_source` | Whether pay came from the advert or was estimated by the board |
| `job_type`, `is_remote`, `job_level` | Full time, part time, contract; remote; seniority |
| `company_url`, `company_url_direct`, `company_industry`, `company_num_employees` | Company details where the board has them |
| `emails` | Any email address in the advert |
| `description` | The full advert in markdown (Indeed; up to 8,000 characters) |
| `job_url`, `job_url_direct` | Link to the advert, and to the employer's own page where available |
| `site` | Which board it came from |

The same job on two boards is only returned (and charged) once.

***

### How to use it

1. Enter a **job title or keywords** and a **location**.
2. Pick the **country** and **job boards**.
3. Optional: **posted within** (e.g. 24 hours), **job type**, **remote only**
   and **distance**.

```json
{
  "searchTerm": "electrician",
  "location": "Manchester",
  "country": "uk",
  "sites": ["indeed", "glassdoor"],
  "resultsPerSite": 50,
  "postedWithinHours": 168
}
```

Schedule it daily with `postedWithinHours: 24` for a feed of new jobs.

#### Get your results

Click **Start**. Rows appear in the **Output** tab as they're found. Export them
as Excel, CSV or JSON, or send them straight to Google Sheets, a CRM or Slack
with Apify integrations (Zapier, Make, n8n, webhooks) or the API.

#### Run it on a schedule (optional)

Schedule a daily run with **posted within** set to `24` hours for a feed of new jobs, or new hiring companies to sell to.

***

### Good to know

- **Google Jobs** is best-effort: Google sometimes returns no results to
  automated searches. You're not charged when it returns nothing.
- **ZipRecruiter** covers the USA and Canada only.
- **LinkedIn isn't included**, on purpose: its jobs require a login and
  LinkedIn actively blocks scraping.

***

### Sample output

One row from a real run, trimmed to the main fields. Every field is described above.

```json
{
  "site": "Indeed",
  "title": "Vehicle Auto Electrician",
  "company": "Car & Commercial Solutions",
  "location": "St Helens, ENG, UK",
  "date_posted": "2026-11-02",
  "min_amount": 16,
  "max_amount": null,
  "interval": "hourly",
  "currency": "GBP",
  "job_type": "fulltime",
  "job_url": "https://uk.indeed.com/viewjob?jk=571d6d1466955af8"
}
```

### One-click examples

Open one of these ready-made tasks, check the inputs, and click **Start**. Each is a good starting point you can change.

- [Electrician jobs in Manchester (last 7 days)](https://apify.com/best_actors/multi-board-job-search/electrician-jobs-manchester)
- [Software engineer jobs in London (last 3 days)](https://apify.com/best_actors/multi-board-job-search/software-engineer-jobs-london)
- [Registered nurse jobs in Texas (USA)](https://apify.com/best_actors/multi-board-job-search/registered-nurse-jobs-texas)

***

### Pricing

| Event | Price |
|---|---|
| Job | $0.002 |

For example, 200 jobs cost $0.40.

You pay per unique job returned. Nothing is charged for bad input or for a
board that fails or returns nothing.

***

### FAQ

**Why not LinkedIn?**
LinkedIn jobs need a login and LinkedIn actively blocks scraping, so results wouldn't be reliable.

**Why are some salaries empty?**
Many adverts don't state pay. `salary_source` shows whether a figure came from the advert or the board's estimate.

**Why fewer jobs than I asked for?**
That's all the boards returned for the search. Widen the distance, remove `postedWithinHours`, or use broader keywords.
