## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Apple App Store Scraper: Search, App Details, Developers & Top Charts

Get clean, structured data from the **Apple App Store** in any country: keyword search results with rank, full app details by ID, URL or bundle ID, every app of a developer, and Apple's official **Top Free, Top Paid and Top Grossing charts** by category. Built on Apple's public iTunes Search, Lookup and RSS endpoints, so it's fast, stable and needs no login, cookies or proxies.

**$0.15 per 1,000 apps.** 1,000 search results cost 15 cents.

### What you can do

- **App Store search / ASO keyword research**: see which apps rank for "photo editor" or "budget planner" in the US, Germany or Japan, with the exact position (up to 200 results per keyword).
- **App details in bulk**: paste hundreds of App Store links, numeric IDs or bundle IDs (`com.spotify.client`). They're looked up 150 per request.
- **Developer portfolios**: every app a publisher has, sorted by number of ratings.
- **Top charts tracking**: Top Free, Paid and Grossing for iPhone and iPad, New Apps, all apps or one category (Games, Finance, Health & Fitness...), up to 100 ranks per chart and country. Schedule it daily to track rank changes.
- **Market and competitor research**: compare ratings, price, update cadence, app size and supported languages across countries.

### Data you get (40+ fields per app)

Download as JSON, CSV, Excel or XML, or use the API.

### How to use

1. Add **search terms**, **apps**, **developers** or pick **top charts** (any mix works in one run).
2. Pick one or more **countries** (`us`, `gb`, `de`, `jp`, `br`...). Every query runs once per country.
3. Set **max results per query** and click Start.

Example input:

```json
{
  "searchTerms": ["meditation", "habit tracker"],
  "apps": ["https://apps.apple.com/us/app/notion-notes-tasks-ai/id1232780281", "com.spotify.client"],
  "charts": ["topgrossing"],
  "chartGenre": "6014",
  "countries": ["us", "de"],
  "maxResultsPerQuery": 50
}
```

With an empty input the Actor returns today's top 20 free iPhone apps in the US.

### Pricing

Pay per event, no subscription:

- **$0.15 per 1,000 apps** saved (search results, lookups, developer apps and chart entries all cost the same)
- $0.0005 per run start (256 MB default memory)
- Apps that aren't found cost nothing; they're listed in the `FAILURES` record instead.

Set a spending limit on the run and the Actor stops exactly there.

### Tips

- Reviews: use our [App Store & Google Play Reviews Scraper](https://apify.com/best_apis/app-store-play-reviews) for reviews of the apps you find here.
- Charts return at most 100 apps per chart, country and category (Apple's limit). Use several categories for deeper coverage.
- Search returns at most 200 results per keyword and country (Apple's limit).
- Use `language` (for example `en_us`) to get English names in non-English stores.

### Is it legal?

The Actor reads only public app listings through Apple's public endpoints, the same data anyone sees in the App Store. It collects no personal data. You're responsible for how you use the data; check Apple's terms for your use case.

### FAQ

**Do I need an Apple account or API key?** No.

**How fast is it?** About 1,000 apps in under a minute; lookups are batched 150 apps per request.

**Does it cover Google Play?** Not this Actor. It's App Store only.

**Something broken or missing?** Open an issue on the Issues tab and we'll respond within a day.
