## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Skool Members Lead Extractor with Email Enrichment

Extract Skool community members — names, bios, socials, join dates — with optional real email enrichment. Pay-per-event.

**Description (Store):** Extract Skool members with bios, social links & join dates. Optional email enrichment from bio/website. PPE — pay only for results.

### Use cases

1. **Lead generation** — Pull member names, LinkedIn, websites, and bios from public or member-accessible Skool communities.
2. **Competitor / community intel** — Benchmark size, admin count, and active member profiles in niche Skool groups.
3. **CRM enrichment** — Append social links and (when found) emails to your outreach lists — no invented addresses.
4. **Creator research** — Find active members with websites or YouTube/Instagram for collabs.
5. **Recruiting** — Filter admins vs members and export structured JSON/CSV into your ATS or sheet.

### Features

- Public groups work **without login** (top public members + admins tab).
- Optional **session cookie** unlocks private groups and full roster pagination.
- Structured output: identity, role, activity, socials, email provenance.
- **Email enrichment** from Skool field, bio text, or personal website only — never guessed.
- Rate-limited (~1 req/s), retries, proxy support, clear logging.
- **Pay-per-event** pricing (configure in Console after push).

### Input

| Field | Type | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| `groupUrls` | string\[] | — | Skool group URLs or slugs |
| `cookie` | secret string | — | Optional Cookie header (`auth_token` + `client_id` + `aws-waf-token`) |
| `maxMembers` | integer | `1000` | Cap per group |
| `roleFilter` | `all` | `admin` | `member` | `all` | Role filter |
| `includeSocialLinks` | boolean | `true` | Include LinkedIn/X/IG/YT/FB/website |
| `enrichEmails` | boolean | `true` | Extract emails from bio/website when present |
| `proxyConfiguration` | object | Apify Proxy off | Recommended for large runs |

#### Example input

```json
{
  "groupUrls": ["https://www.skool.com/apex-community-ai-free-9628"],
  "maxMembers": 50,
  "roleFilter": "all",
  "includeSocialLinks": true,
  "enrichEmails": true,
  "proxyConfiguration": { "useApifyProxy": false }
}
```

### Output fields

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `memberId` | Membership id |
| `name` | Display name |
| `handle` | Skool username |
| `profileUrl` | `https://www.skool.com/@handle` |
| `bio` | Profile bio |
| `location` | Self-reported location |
| `level` / `points` | Gamification from `spData` |
| `joinedAt` / `lastActiveAt` | Membership timestamps |
| `role` | `member` / `admin` / `owner` |
| `groupName` / `groupUrl` | Community context |
| `socialLinks` | Object of network → URL |
| `email` / `emailSource` / `emailConfidence` | Only when found (`skool` | `bio` | `website`) |
| `scrapedAt` | UTC ISO timestamp |

A `group_info` row (`_type: "group_info"`) is also written per group.

### Pricing (PPE — intended)

Configure in Apify Console → Actor → Monetization after the first successful platform run:

| Event | Price (USD) | When |
|---|---|---|
| `actor-start` | $0.005 | Run starts |
| `member` | $0.002 | Each member row |
| `member-with-socials` | +$0.001 | Member has ≥1 social/website link |
| `email-found` | $0.02 | Email actually found (never charged for empty) |
| `group-info` | $0.01 | Per group metadata row |

**Cost guidance:** 100 public members with socials, no emails ≈ `$0.005 + 100×$0.003 + $0.01 ≈ $0.32`. Each verified email adds $0.02.

### Limitations

- Without a cookie, Skool usually exposes only the **public top members** (~30), not the full roster.
- Private communities require a cookie from an account that is a **member** of that community.
- Emails are rare on public profiles; enrichment only finds addresses that already appear in bio/website HTML.
- Skool may change `__NEXT_DATA__` shape or WAF rules; success rate is monitored and patched quickly.
- Respect Skool Terms and applicable laws; scrape only data you are allowed to access.

### How to get a cookie (optional)

1. Log into skool.com in your browser for a community you belong to.
2. DevTools → Network → any `skool.com` request → copy the `Cookie` header.
3. Paste into the Actor `cookie` secret field. Do not share it.

### Development

```bash
cd skool-members-lead-extractor
python -m venv .venv && source .venv/bin/activate
pip install -r requirements.txt
apify run
```

See `RESEARCH.md` for endpoint notes from live probes.

# Actor input Schema

## `groupUrls` (type: `array`):

One or more Skool community URLs or slugs (e.g. https://www.skool.com/my-group or my-group). Public groups work without a cookie; private / full rosters need a member cookie.

## `cookie` (type: `string`):

Optional Cookie header from a logged-in Skool browser session (auth_token, client_id, aws-waf-token). Required for private groups and to paginate beyond the public top members. Treat as a secret — do not share.

## `maxMembers` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many unique members per group. Use a high value (e.g. 100000) for full rosters when authenticated.

## `roleFilter` (type: `string`):

Which roles to include.

## `includeSocialLinks` (type: `boolean`):

Parse LinkedIn, Twitter/X, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and website links from member profiles.

## `enrichEmails` (type: `boolean`):

Extract emails only when found in the member bio or on their linked personal website. Never invents emails. Charges email-found only on success.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Apify Proxy settings. Recommended for larger runs.
