## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Kick Scraper

Extract public data from [Kick.com](https://kick.com) — channels, live streams, past broadcasts and clips — without a login, an API key, or a proxy.

Most Kick scrapers do one thing. This one covers four, and you can combine them in a single run: look up specific channels, search for channels by keyword, browse whatever is live right now, and pull each channel's VODs and clips.

### What you can scrape

| Source | What you get |
| --- | --- |
| **Channels** | Followers, bio, profile and banner images, verification, affiliate status, whether they are live right now, current title, viewers and category |
| **Search** | Every channel matching a keyword, with the same fields |
| **Live streams** | A snapshot of who is streaming, with viewers, category, language, tags, maturity flag and thumbnail |
| **Past broadcasts** | Each VOD with title, duration, peak viewers, category and thumbnail |
| **Clips** | Title, creator, views, likes, duration, category and a direct video URL |

### Input

| Field | Type | Description |
| --- | --- | --- |
| `channels` | array | Channel slugs (`xqc`) or full URLs (`https://kick.com/xqc`) |
| `searchQueries` | array | Keywords to search for channels |
| `scrapeLiveStreams` | boolean | Browse channels that are live right now |
| `liveStreamsLanguage` | string | Which language of live streams to browse (default `en`) |
| `liveStreamsSortBy` | string | `viewers` for the busiest streams first (default), or `newest` for streams that just went live |
| `includeVideos` | boolean | Also fetch each channel's past broadcasts |
| `includeClips` | boolean | Also fetch each channel's clips (paginated) |
| `maxItems` | integer | Stop after this many items (default 100) |
| `proxyConfiguration` | object | Optional. Kick does not block datacenter traffic, so you normally leave this off |

#### Example input

```json
{
    "channels": ["xqc", "adinross"],
    "searchQueries": ["valorant"],
    "scrapeLiveStreams": true,
    "includeVideos": true,
    "maxItems": 200
}
```

### Output

Every item carries a `type` field (`channel`, `livestream`, `video` or `clip`), so a single run can mix all four and you can filter afterwards.

```json
{
    "type": "channel",
    "slug": "xqc",
    "url": "https://kick.com/xqc",
    "username": "xQc",
    "followersCount": 1362069,
    "verified": true,
    "isLive": false,
    "currentCategory": null,
    "recentCategories": ["IRL", "Games"],
    "profilePicture": "https://files.kick.com/images/user/...",
    "scrapedAt": "2026-10-26T09:29:41.230Z"
}
```

```json
{
    "type": "clip",
    "clipId": "clip_01M5V7N46Q9ET7HFQE4FV6K5WK",
    "title": "x pimping out marty",
    "slug": "xqc",
    "creator": "WhipTrikool",
    "views": 21,
    "likes": 0,
    "durationSeconds": 180,
    "category": "Just Chatting",
    "videoUrl": "https://clips.kick.com/clips/67/..."
}
```

Durations are always in **seconds**, including for past broadcasts, where Kick's own API reports milliseconds.

### What it is good for

- **Streamer analytics** — track follower growth, streaming hours, category mix
- **Brand and sponsorship research** — find channels in a category and size their audience
- **Content discovery** — pull the most-viewed clips of a channel
- **Market monitoring** — snapshot who is live, in which category, at what hour

### Notes and limits

- Only **public** data is collected. The scraper never logs in and cannot read private messages, subscriber lists or moderation data.
- Chat messages are not included; Kick delivers chat over a websocket rather than the public API.
- `viewerCount` can read `0` for a live channel when the streamer has hidden their view count.
- Kick serves the data unauthenticated, so a run costs compute only — no proxy charges.

### FAQ

**Do I need a Kick account or API key?**
No. Everything comes from Kick's public endpoints.

**How many channels can I scrape in one run?**
There is no hard limit. Use `maxItems` to cap the dataset, and remember that clips paginate, so a channel with many clips can produce hundreds of items.

**Is scraping Kick legal?**
The Actor reads only public pages, the same data any visitor sees. You are responsible for how you use the data, including compliance with Kick's terms and with privacy law in your jurisdiction.

# Actor input Schema

## `channels` (type: `array`):

Kick channels to scrape. Accepts a plain slug (xqc) or a full URL (https://kick.com/xqc).

## `searchQueries` (type: `array`):

Keywords to search on Kick. Every channel matching a keyword is saved.

## `scrapeLiveStreams` (type: `boolean`):

Browse the channels that are live right now, newest first. Useful for a snapshot of the platform rather than specific channels.

## `liveStreamsLanguage` (type: `string`):

Which language of live streams to browse. Only applies when 'Scrape live streams' is on.

## `liveStreamsSortBy` (type: `string`):

Most viewers first gives you the busiest streams on Kick. Newest first gives streams that just went live, which usually still have zero viewers.

## `includeVideos` (type: `boolean`):

For every channel, also save its past broadcasts (VODs) with duration, views and category.

## `includeClips` (type: `boolean`):

For every channel, also save its clips with views, likes and creator. Clips are paginated, so this can produce a lot of items.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Stop once this many items have been saved to the dataset. Counts channels, live streams, videos and clips together.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Kick's public API does not block datacenter traffic, so a proxy is normally unnecessary. Turn it on only if you hit rate limits.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "channels": [
    "xqc",
    "adinross"
  ],
  "searchQueries": [
    "valorant"
  ],
  "scrapeLiveStreams": false,
  "liveStreamsLanguage": "en",
  "liveStreamsSortBy": "viewers",
  "includeVideos": false,
  "includeClips": false,
  "maxItems": 100,
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": false
  }
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `results` (type: `string`):

Every scraped item — channels, live streams, past broadcasts and clips — in one dataset.

## `channels` (type: `string`):

Just the channel profiles, with follower counts and live status.

## `csv` (type: `string`):

The same results as a spreadsheet file.
