## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## DeAutos Used Cars Scraper (Argentina)

Scrape used car listings from [DeAutos.com](https://deautos.com), an Argentine site that gathers ads from Mercado Libre, Autocosmos, Kavak and DeRuedas (about 1,400 cars), and get clean structured data: make, model, year, mileage, price in ARS or USD, province and a link to the original ad.

### What you can do with it

- **Price used cars in Argentina**: compare prices by make, model, year, mileage and province, in ARS or USD as the seller listed them.
- **Find deals**: `priceRating` carries the site's "great price" and "good price" flags.
- **Watch the market**: schedule the run and follow stock of a make or a province over time.
- **Link back to the source**: every record includes `sourceUrl`, the original ad on the platform that published it.

### Input

| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Make, Model, Province | Text filters, accents and case are ignored (`cordoba` matches Córdoba). |
| Body type, Source of the ad | Pick from the lists. |
| Price currency, Minimum / maximum price | Each ad is priced in the currency its seller chose, so set the currency whenever you filter by price. |
| Minimum year, Maximum mileage | Numeric limits. Ads without a mileage are kept. |
| Maximum number of listings | The run stops once this many listings are saved. |

### Output

One record per car:

```json
{
  "id": "kia-k2500-2016-caba-dc8adb",
  "url": "https://deautos.com/auto/kia-k2500-2016-caba-dc8adb",
  "sourceUrl": "https://auto.mercadolibre.com.ar/MLA-3978863558-kia-k2500-25-caja-_JM",
  "title": "2016 Kia K2500",
  "make": "Kia",
  "model": "K2500",
  "version": "2.5 Caja",
  "year": 2016,
  "mileageKm": 260000,
  "price": 26000000,
  "currency": "ARS",
  "province": "CABA",
  "city": "CABA",
  "location": "Villa Devoto, CABA",
  "fuel": null,
  "transmission": null,
  "color": null,
  "bodyType": "hatch",
  "drive": null,
  "priceRating": null,
  "source": "Mercado Libre",
  "imageUrl": "https://http2.mlstatic.com/D_NQ_NP_2X_995671-MLA116516542114_092026-F.webp"
}
```

Export the dataset as JSON, CSV or Excel, or read it through the Apify API.

### Good to know

- The whole catalogue is read in a single request: runs are fast and cheap, no browser or proxy needed.
- Prices are in the seller's currency (`ARS` or `USD`), with no conversion.
- `source` is the platform that published the ad, not the seller. Private sellers' names and phone numbers are never exported.
- `bodyType`, `fuel`, `transmission` and `drive` are the site's own classification and are empty when the source ad does not state them.
- The catalogue is about 1,400 cars: the maximum number of listings is capped at 5,000.

### Why this one

- **Four sources behind one site.** DeAutos gathers ads from Mercado Libre, Autocosmos, Kavak and DeRuedas, and each record keeps the original ad link in `sourceUrl`.
- **Prices in ARS or USD.** Pick the `currency` and the `source`, and filter by make, model, province, body type, year and mileage.

### Pricing

Pay per result: **$2.00 per 1,000 listings**, plus $0.00005 per run start. For example, 100 listings cost about $0.20. You only pay for the listings you receive, and platform usage is included in that price.

### Run it from your code

JavaScript:

```js
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
const client = new ApifyClient({ token: process.env.APIFY_TOKEN });
const run = await client.actor('bibian/deautos-cars-scraper').call({
  source: 'Mercado Libre',
  currency: 'USD',
  maxItems: 50,
});
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
```

Python:

```python
from apify_client import ApifyClient
client = ApifyClient(token="<APIFY_TOKEN>")
run = client.actor("bibian/deautos-cars-scraper").call(run_input={
    "source": "Mercado Libre",
    "currency": "USD",
    "maxItems": 50
})
items = client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).list_items().items
```

### Frequently asked questions

**Do I need an account, cookies or a proxy for DeAutos?** No. The actor reads publicly visible pages only.

**How do I track used car prices in Argentina over time?** Save a task with your filters and schedule it daily with Apify Schedules. Compare `price` for the same `id` between runs.

**Which formats can I export?** JSON, CSV, Excel, XML, HTML table or RSS, from the dataset page or through the API.

**Can I connect it to Make, Zapier, n8n or Google Sheets?** Yes, through Apify integrations and webhooks.

**Is it legal to scrape?** The actor collects publicly visible car listings and respects the robots.txt rules of the site. How you use the data is your responsibility: check the site's terms and the laws that apply to you, for example the GDPR.

**Something does not work?** Open an issue in the Issues tab. Every public actor is test-run daily and the broken ones are repaired.

**Did this save you time?** A short review on the Store page helps other people find the actor, and tells me what to improve next.
