## Pricing

from $0.96 / 1,000 project postings

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Freelancer.com Projects Scraper (Worldwide)

Scrape the freelance projects that clients post on [Freelancer.com](https://www.freelancer.com), one of the world's largest freelance marketplaces, and get clean structured data: budget, project type, bids, category and skills, ready for a lead feed, a market dashboard or your own job board.

### What you can do with it

- **Never miss a lead**: schedule a daily run with your keywords and send new projects to Slack, e-mail or your CRM.
- **Price your offer**: real budgets and bid counts per skill, worldwide, fixed-price or hourly.
- **Spot trends**: which skills and categories clients ask for the most, and at which price.
- **Feed your own job board**: a stable, schema.org-aligned JSON feed of freelance missions, in any currency.

### Input

| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Keywords (`query`) | Search projects by title and brief, for example `logo design` or `wordpress`. Leave empty to get the latest projects across every category. |
| Project type (`projectType`) | Keep only fixed-price or hourly projects. Default: any. |
| Maximum number of projects (`maxItems`) | The run stops once this many projects are saved. Default: 50. |
| Include full briefs (`includeDescriptions`) | Adds the client's full project description as plain text. Default: on. |
| Only new results (`onlyNew`) | For scheduled runs: each run returns, and charges, only the projects an earlier run of the same search did not already deliver. Default: off. |

### Output

One record per project, with the unified job-posting fields used across this author's other job and freelance scrapers (`id`, `url`, `title`, `employmentType`, `remote`, `salaryMin`/`Max`/`Currency`/`Period`, `datePosted`, `validThrough`, `skills`, `source`, `sourceId`, `scrapedAt`...), plus a few fields specific to Freelancer.com:

```json
{
  "id": "freelancer.com:40796664",
  "url": "https://www.freelancer.com/projects/adobe-illustrator/Traditional-Marriage-Biodata-Design-40796664",
  "title": "Traditional Marriage Biodata Design",
  "companyName": null,
  "remote": "remote",
  "employmentType": "freelance",
  "salaryMin": 600,
  "salaryMax": 2500,
  "salaryCurrency": "INR",
  "salaryPeriod": null,
  "datePosted": "2026-11-01T00:44:23.000Z",
  "validThrough": "2026-11-08T00:44:23.000Z",
  "industry": "Design, Media & Architecture",
  "skills": ["Graphic Design", "Logo Design", "Photoshop", "Illustrator", "Typography"],
  "source": "freelancer.com",
  "sourceId": "40796664",
  "scrapedAt": "2026-11-01T00:45:47.865Z",
  "projectType": "fixed",
  "bidCount": 4,
  "bidAverage": 1568.13,
  "description": "I need a single-page marriage biodata laid out in a traditional, elegant style..."
}
```

`salaryMin`/`salaryMax` carry the project's budget (a lump sum for a fixed-price project, a rate per hour for an hourly one, in which case `salaryPeriod` is `"hour"`). Export the dataset as JSON, CSV or Excel, or read it through the Apify API.

A real sample, three projects from the same default run:

| Title | Category | Budget | Bids |
|---|---|---|---|
| Traditional Marriage Biodata Design | Design, Media & Architecture | 600 - 2,500 INR | 5 |
| Freelance Project: Anthropic Claude Code Certification Pathway | Artificial Intelligence | 30 - 250 USD | 37 |
| Church YouTube Growth Specialist | Sales & Marketing | 30 - 250 USD | 24 |

### Good to know

- Projects come newest first, so a daily run is fast and cheap: a simple HTTP call to the site's own public project-search endpoint, no browser and no proxy needed.
- Only the project itself is collected: title, brief, budget, category and skills. The identity of the client who posted it and of the freelancers who bid on it is never requested or collected, by design (a freelancer's profile is personal data; a posted project is not).
- `country`/`city`/`region` are filled only for the small share of projects a client restricted to one place; the rest are open to freelancers worldwide and carry `remote: "remote"` with `country: null`, as allowed for sites that default to worldwide remote delivery.
- A project's brief is checked for stray e-mail addresses or phone numbers a client may have pasted into their own text, and they are replaced with `[redacted]` before saving.

### Why this one

- **Leads, not job ads.** Each record is a project a client is actively hiring for, with `bidCount` and `bidAverage` showing how competitive it already is.
- **One call, no detail page.** The site's own public search API returns everything in the list (budget, skills, bids, dates): no per-project page to fetch, so a run stays fast and cheap even at a few thousand projects.
- **Worldwide, any currency.** One actor covers every category and every currency the site itself supports, instead of one country at a time.

### Who uses it

- **Freelancers and agencies** monitor new projects in their skills before the bid queue fills up.
- **B2B sales and lead generation**: a company posting a project is a company with a budget and a need right now.
- **Market research**: budgets, bid counts and skill demand by category, worldwide.
- **Job boards and aggregators** feed their own site with fresh freelance missions in a stable schema, without maintaining a parser.

### Pricing

Pay per result: **$1.20 per 1,000 projects**, plus $0.01 per run start with the default 4 GB of memory. For example, 100 projects cost about $0.13. You only pay for the projects you receive, and platform usage is included in that price. Store discounts apply automatically on paid Apify plans: up to 20% off every event on the higher tiers.

### Run it from your code

JavaScript:

```js
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
const client = new ApifyClient({ token: process.env.APIFY_TOKEN });
const run = await client.actor('bibian/freelancer-projects-scraper').call({
  query: 'wordpress',
  projectType: 'hourly',
  maxItems: 50,
});
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
```

Python:

```python
from apify_client import ApifyClient
client = ApifyClient(token="<APIFY_TOKEN>")
run = client.actor("bibian/freelancer-projects-scraper").call(run_input={
    "query": "wordpress",
    "projectType": "hourly",
    "maxItems": 50
})
items = client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).list_items().items
```

### Monitor new projects daily and connect your tools

1. **Schedule it.** Save a task with your keywords and schedule it daily with Apify Schedules. Tick **Only new results** in the input and each run returns, and charges, only the projects earlier runs of the same search did not deliver.
2. **Push the results where you work.** Add an Apify integration or a webhook to the task: Google Sheets, Slack, Make, Zapier, n8n or your own endpoint, triggered at the end of every run.
3. **Call it from your stack.** The API and the JavaScript and Python clients return the dataset as JSON, CSV or Excel.
4. **Let an AI agent use it.** Through the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/platform/integrations/mcp), assistants such as Claude or ChatGPT can search the Store, read this page and run the actor as a tool.

### Frequently asked questions

**Do I need an account, cookies or a proxy for Freelancer.com?** No. The actor reads the site's own public project-search endpoint, the same one its search page calls, without signing in.

**Does this collect freelancer profiles?** No, never. Only the projects clients post are collected. Freelancer profiles (name, rating, portfolio) are personal data and are out of scope for this actor on purpose.

**Which formats can I export?** JSON, CSV, Excel, XML, HTML table or RSS, from the dataset page or through the API.

**Is it legal to scrape?** The actor collects publicly visible postings and respects the robots.txt rules of the site. How you use the data is your responsibility: check the site's terms and the laws that apply to you, for example the GDPR.

**Something does not work?** Open an issue in the Issues tab. Every public actor is test-run daily and the broken ones are repaired.

**Did this save you time?** A short review on the Store page helps other people find the actor, and tells me what to improve next.

## `projectType` (type: `string`):

Keep only fixed-price or hourly projects.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):
