## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## KissKissBankBank Projects Scraper (France)

Scrape [KissKissBankBank](https://www.kisskissbankbank.com), a major French crowdfunding platform, for project campaigns: title, category, city, amount raised, funding goal, number of backers, funding percent and end date, ready for market research, lead generation and crowdfunding dashboards.

### What you can do with it

- **Research the French crowdfunding market**: track live and finished campaigns by category, city and funding outcome.
- **Find successful project creators to pitch**: companies and associations running a well-funded campaign are a warm lead for packaging, logistics, PR or follow-up funding offers.
- **Build a crowdfunding dashboard or newsletter**: export current campaigns with their funding percent and days left.
- **Benchmark campaign performance**: compare goal vs. amount raised and backer counts across categories.

### Input

| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Maximum number of projects | The run stops once this many projects are saved. |

### Output

One record per project:

```json
{
  "id": "0e37a1a7-bc4c-4e77-b9fd-ed187f62d54b",
  "slug": "nema-le-composteur-d-interieur-simple-et-design",
  "url": "https://www.kisskissbankbank.com/fr/projects/nema-le-composteur-d-interieur-simple-et-design",
  "title": "Néma, Le composteur d'intérieur simple et design",
  "shortDesc": "Invitez la nature chez vous avec notre écosystème qui recycle vos biodéchets et végétalise votre intérieur.",
  "categories": ["Mode & design"],
  "city": "Lyon",
  "country": "France",
  "state": "successful",
  "isPermanent": false,
  "currency": "eur",
  "goalType": "amount",
  "goalAmount": 30000,
  "goalCount": null,
  "fundingPercent": 399,
  "collectedCount": 407,
  "endAt": "2022-05-08T22:59:59.000Z",
  "durationDays": 97,
  "projectOwner": null
}
```

Export the dataset as JSON, CSV or Excel, or read it through the Apify API.

### Good to know

- Projects are listed from KissKissBankBank's own sitemap, in the order the site lists them, not sorted by funding or popularity: there is no public search API to filter by.
- If the sitemap cannot be read, the run automatically falls back to the projects featured on the homepage and the default discover page, so a run still succeeds and still saves real projects; it only returns fewer of them.
- `projectOwner` is only ever filled when KissKissBankBank itself tags the campaign as run by a named company or association. For campaigns run by an individual, `projectOwner` is left empty: no personal name, username, phone or email is ever collected.
- `collectedAmount` and `goalAmount` are in the campaign's own currency's major unit (for example euros, not cents).
- Some campaigns set a backer-count goal instead of a money goal (`goalType: "count"`): `goalAmount` is then empty and `goalCount` holds the target number of backers instead. `collectedAmount` still shows the money actually raised either way.
- `fundingPercent` can go well above 100 for campaigns that overshot their goal.
- `endAt` is empty for "permanent" (subscription-style, `isPermanent: true`) campaigns, which run with no end date.
- A handful of older or subscription-style campaigns have moved to KissKissBankBank's sister site Ulule; those are skipped rather than followed, since they are a different site.
- No browser and no proxy needed: runs are fast and cheap.
- The dataset contains public campaign information only. No backer or individual creator personal data is collected.

### Why this one

- **Funding progress as numbers.** `collectedAmount`, `goalAmount` and `fundingPercent` are separate fields, ready for a dashboard.
- **Campaign context.** Category, city, state and creation date come with every project.

### Pricing

Pay per result: **$2.00 per 1,000 projects**, plus $0.00005 per run start. For example, 100 projects cost about $0.20. You only pay for the projects you receive, and platform usage is included in that price.

### Run it from your code

JavaScript:

```js
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
const client = new ApifyClient({ token: process.env.APIFY_TOKEN });
const run = await client.actor('bibian/kisskissbankbank-projects-scraper').call({
  maxItems: 50,
});
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
```

Python:

```python
from apify_client import ApifyClient
client = ApifyClient(token="<APIFY_TOKEN>")
run = client.actor("bibian/kisskissbankbank-projects-scraper").call(run_input={
    "maxItems": 50
})
items = client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).list_items().items
```

### Frequently asked questions

**Do I need an account, cookies or a proxy for KissKissBankBank?** No. The actor reads publicly visible pages only.

**How do I follow campaign progress?** Schedule a daily run with Apify Schedules and compare `collectedAmount` and `fundingPercent` for the same `id` between runs.

**Which formats can I export?** JSON, CSV, Excel, XML, HTML table or RSS, from the dataset page or through the API.

**Can I connect it to Make, Zapier, n8n or Google Sheets?** Yes, through Apify integrations and webhooks.

**Is it legal to scrape?** The actor collects publicly visible crowdfunding campaigns and respects the robots.txt rules of the site. How you use the data is your responsibility: check the site's terms and the laws that apply to you, for example the GDPR.

**Something does not work?** Open an issue in the Issues tab. Every public actor is test-run daily and the broken ones are repaired.

**Did this save you time?** A short review on the Store page helps other people find the actor, and tells me what to improve next.
