## Pricing

from $0.96 / 1,000 job postings

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## SEEK Jobs Scraper (Australia & New Zealand)

Extract job postings from **seek.com.au** and **seek.co.nz** — title, company, salary (when SEEK
discloses one), location, work type and work arrangement (remote/hybrid/onsite) — straight from SEEK's
own public search pages. No login, no cookies, no CAPTCHA solving.

### Use it to

- **Feed a job board or aggregator** with fresh Australian or New Zealand listings, deduplicated by
  SEEK's own job ID.
- **Track a market or a role** (e.g. "software engineer" in Sydney) run after run with "Only new
  results" switched on, so a scheduled run bills only the postings it hasn't delivered before.
- **Benchmark pay** for a role or region from the salary ranges SEEK's own advertisers disclose.
- **Monitor a classification** (e.g. "Information & Communication Technology") for volume, seniority mix
  and remote/hybrid/onsite split over time.

### Input

| Field | Type | Default | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| `country` | enum | `AU` | `AU` searches seek.com.au, `NZ` searches seek.co.nz. |
| `keyword` | string | *(empty)* | Job title or keyword, e.g. `"software engineer"`. Cannot be combined with `classification`. |
| `classification` | string | *(empty)* | SEEK classification slug, e.g. `"information-communication-technology"` or `"trades-services"` — exactly as it appears in a `seek.com.au/jobs-in-<slug>` URL. Cannot be combined with `keyword`. |
| `location` | string | *(empty)* | SEEK location slug, e.g. `"All-Sydney-NSW"` or `"All-Auckland"` — exactly as it appears in a `.../in-<slug>` URL. Leave empty to search the whole country. |
| `maxItems` | integer | `50` | The run stops once this many postings are saved. See "One page per search" below for the real ceiling. |
| `onlyNew` | boolean | `false` | For scheduled runs: skip postings an earlier run of this *same* search already delivered, so you're only billed for what's new. |

Leave everything empty for SEEK's own front-page mix of categories across Australia — that alone
clears 50 results in well under a minute.

### Output

One line of SCHEMA-EMPLOI.md-compatible JSON per job posting. Real example (from a live run,
2026-11-02):

```json
{
  "id": "seek.com.au:95623729",
  "url": "https://www.seek.com.au/job/95623729",
  "title": "Part-Time Pick Packers – Rydalmere - $34 per hour (Day shift)",
  "companyName": "Fuse Recruitment",
  "companyUrl": null,
  "confidentialCompany": false,
  "locationLabel": "Rydalmere, Sydney NSW",
  "city": "Rydalmere",
  "region": "NSW",
  "postalCode": "2116",
  "country": "AU",
  "remote": "unknown",
  "employmentType": "contract",
  "salaryMin": 34,
  "salaryMax": 34,
  "salaryCurrency": "AUD",
  "salaryPeriod": "hour",
  "datePosted": "2026-11-01T20:07:06.000Z",
  "validThrough": null,
  "description": "Part time 3 days a week, flexibility to work 5 days, 8:30am to 3:30pm and paying $34 p/hr + Super!",
  "experienceLevel": null,
  "industry": "Manufacturing, Transport & Logistics",
  "skills": [],
  "source": "seek.com.au",
  "sourceId": "95623729",
  "scrapedAt": "2026-11-02T07:11:27.414Z",
  "subClassification": "Pickers & Packers",
  "bulletPoints": ["3 days per week!", "$34 p/hr + Super on Day shift!", "Working with a National industry leader!"],
  "listingDateDisplay": "11h ago",
  "isFeatured": false,
  "salaryLabel": "AUD 34 per hour"
}
```

The first block of fields (`id` through `scrapedAt`) follows the same names across every job-posting
Actor we publish, so you can merge SEEK with other sources on one schema. The last block
(`subClassification` through `salaryLabel`) is specific to SEEK.

### Good to know

- **One page per search, by design.** SEEK's own `robots.txt` disallows every query-string URL for a
  generic crawler except two narrow exceptions this Actor doesn't rely on, and it disallows the `/job/`
  job-detail path outright. So this Actor only ever fetches SEEK's plain, path-based search pages (no
  `?page=...`, no detail page) — which caps a single `keyword`/`classification`/`location` search at
  one page, up to 32 postings. Leaving `keyword`, `classification` and `location` all empty uses two
  built-in default categories instead of one, so the default run alone reaches 50. To go further, run
  the Actor again with a different `keyword`, `classification` or `location`.
- **`description` is SEEK's own teaser, not the full ad.** The full job description lives on the
  `/job/<id>` detail page, which (see above) this Actor never fetches. The short teaser and bullet
  points SEEK already shows on the search card are included instead.
- **`experienceLevel` and `skills` are not on the search card**, only on the (disallowed) detail page,
  so they stay `null` / `[]` rather than being guessed.
- **Salary is best-effort.** SEEK's `salaryLabel` is free text ("$84,500 per year", "$30 - $40 per
  hour", or sometimes no figure at all); it's parsed into `salaryMin`/`salaryMax`/`salaryCurrency`/
  `salaryPeriod` whenever the unit is one `hour`/`day`/`month`/`year` and left `null` otherwise (a
  missing number beats a wrong one). The raw text is always kept in `salaryLabel`.
- **No personal data.** SEEK's search cards never name an individual recruiter or carry a direct phone
  number or e-mail; the teaser and bullet points are still defensively scrubbed of any stray e-mail
  address before being saved.
- Real browser, real proxy: this Actor loads each search page in a stealth browser (Camoufox) behind a
  residential proxy, because SEEK blocks a plain HTTP request, a datacenter proxy, and even a
  Chrome-impersonating TLS fingerprint on a residential proxy — only a real browser gets through.

### Who uses it

- **Recruiting agencies and HR teams** watch which companies hire, for which roles and at which salary, in their market.
- **Job boards and aggregators** feed their own site with fresh postings in a stable schema, without maintaining a parser.
- **B2B sales and lead generation**: a company that is hiring is a company that is buying. Filter postings by role to spot prospects early.
- **Labour-market research**: salaries, skills in demand, remote share and hiring volume over time.

### Pricing

Pay per result: **$1.20 per 1,000 postings**, plus $0.01 per run start with the default 4 GB of memory. For example, 100 postings cost about $0.13. You only pay for the postings you receive, and platform usage is included in that price. Store discounts apply automatically on paid Apify plans: up to 20% off every event on the higher tiers.

### Run it from your code

JavaScript:

```js
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
const client = new ApifyClient({ token: process.env.APIFY_TOKEN });
const run = await client.actor('bibian/seek-jobs-scraper').call({
  maxItems: 50,
});
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
```

Python:

```python
from apify_client import ApifyClient
client = ApifyClient(token="<APIFY_TOKEN>")
run = client.actor("bibian/seek-jobs-scraper").call(run_input={
    "maxItems": 50
})
items = client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).list_items().items
```

### Monitor new postings daily and connect your tools

1. **Schedule it.** Save a task, set its publication date filter to the shortest window, and schedule it daily with Apify Schedules. Deduplicate on the `id` field if you keep your own copy. Tick **Only new results** in the input and each run returns, and charges, only the postings that earlier runs of the same search did not deliver.
2. **Push the results where you work.** Add an Apify integration or a webhook to the task: Google Sheets, Slack, Make, Zapier, n8n or your own endpoint, triggered at the end of every run.
3. **Call it from your stack.** The API and the JavaScript and Python clients return the dataset as JSON, CSV or Excel.
4. **Let an AI agent use it.** Through the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/platform/integrations/mcp), assistants such as Claude or ChatGPT can search the Store, read this page and run the actor as a tool.

### Frequently asked questions

**Do I need an account, cookies or a proxy for SEEK?** No. The actor reads publicly visible pages only.

**Which formats can I export?** JSON, CSV, Excel, XML, HTML table or RSS, from the dataset page or through the API.

**Is it legal to scrape?** The actor collects publicly visible postings and respects the robots.txt rules of the site. How you use the data is your responsibility: check the site's terms and the laws that apply to you, for example the GDPR.

**Need another site, a missing field or a new filter?** Open an issue in the Issues tab and say what you need, with an example URL if you have one. Requests are read, and the most asked ones are built next.

**Something does not work?** Open an issue in the Issues tab. Every public actor is test-run daily and the broken ones are repaired.

**Did this save you time?** A short review on the Store page helps other people find the actor, and tells me what to improve next.

# Actor input Schema

## `country` (type: `string`):

Which SEEK site to search.

## `keyword` (type: `string`):

Job title or keyword, e.g. "software engineer". Leave empty, together with Classification, to get SEEK's own default mix of categories. Cannot be combined with Classification.

## `classification` (type: `string`):

SEEK classification slug, exactly as it appears in a seek.com.au/jobs-in-<slug> URL, e.g. "information-communication-technology" or "trades-services". Cannot be combined with Keyword.

## `location` (type: `string`):

SEEK location slug, exactly as it appears in a seek.com.au/.../in-<slug> URL, e.g. "All-Sydney-NSW" or "All-Auckland". Leave empty to search the whole country.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

The run stops once this many job postings are saved. SEEK's own robots.txt allows only one page of results (up to 32 postings) per distinct keyword/classification/location search for a generic crawler, so a run without Keyword or Classification combines a couple of default categories to reach the default of 50; a run with a specific Keyword, Classification or Location is capped at one page.

## `onlyNew` (type: `boolean`):

For scheduled runs. Skip the results that an earlier run of this same search already delivered, so each run returns, and charges, only what is new. The memory is kept in a key-value store of your account named "only-new-memory-bibian-" followed by the ID of this Actor.
