## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## We Work Remotely Scraper · No Login

Extract remote job postings from [We Work Remotely](https://weworkremotely.com), one of the largest worldwide remote-job boards. No login, no browser, no API key: job title, company, headquarters, region, category and the full description, read straight from the site's own public RSS feed.

### What you can do with it

- **Search worldwide remote jobs by keyword.** `keywords` matches the posting's title, company, category and description.
- **Filter by region.** `location` keeps only postings open to a given region (for example "Americas" or "Europe").
- **Cover every category at once** (programming, design, sales, support, product and more), or none in particular.
- **Feed a job alert or aggregator.** A stable `id` and canonical `url` per posting for deduplication across runs.

### Input

| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| `keywords` | Job title, company or skill, for example `react`. Empty means every posting. |
| `location` | Region the posting is restricted to, for example `Americas` or `Europe`. Empty means every region. |
| `maxItems` | The run stops once this many postings are saved (default 50). |

Example input:

```json
{
  "keywords": "react",
  "location": "",
  "maxItems": 50
}
```

### Output

One record per posting:

```json
{
  "id": "imerit-technology-ai-trainer",
  "url": "https://weworkremotely.com/remote-jobs/imerit-technology-ai-trainer",
  "title": "AI Trainer",
  "companyName": "iMerit Technology",
  "companyUrl": "http://imerit.net",
  "headquarters": "San Francisco, CA and Kolkata, India",
  "region": "Anywhere in the World",
  "category": "All Other Remote",
  "datePosted": "2026-10-13",
  "description": "AI Trainer\n\nRemote | Independent Contractor | Get certified for future project opportunities...."
}
```

Export the dataset as JSON, CSV or Excel, or read it through the Apify API.

### Why this one

- **No login, no browser, no API key.** We Work Remotely's homepage sits behind a Cloudflare challenge; its own public RSS feed does not, so this Actor reads that directly.
- **Clean fields, not a wall of text.** Company, headquarters and company website are pulled out of the posting's own header instead of staying mixed into the description.
- **Covers every category and region in one run**, not one city or one tech stack.

### Good to know

- The feed lists the site's current live postings; very old postings are not kept once filled.
- Many postings do not show a direct company URL in their header; `companyUrl` is `null` when that is the case.
- The dataset contains job postings only. Any line carrying an e-mail address or phone number, including a generic company inbox (`hr@`, `talentacquisition@`), is dropped from `description`.
- This is an unofficial tool, not affiliated with We Work Remotely. Check the site's terms and the data protection rules that apply to your use.

### FAQ

**Does it need a browser or a proxy?**\
No. The Actor reads the site's own public RSS feed directly.

**Does it work without `keywords`?**\
Yes. Leave it empty for a productive default run across every current posting.

**Can I get the data in Excel or Google Sheets?**\
Yes. Export the dataset as CSV, Excel or JSON from the Apify console, or connect the Apify Google Sheets integration.
