## Pricing

$0.50 / 1,000 trending rss results

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Google Trends — Trending Searches RSS by Country

Fetch the current **public RSS subset** of Google's *Trending now* searches by country, then export a clean Dataset for a daily content/keyword monitoring workflow.

### First run

```json
{"countries":["US","GB"],"maxResultsPerCountry":5,"maxTotalResults":10,"onlyNew":false,"includeNews":true}
```

Each row contains the country, trending query, approximate Google traffic bucket, UTC start time, up to eight related public news links, and retrieval time. For scheduled incremental runs, set `onlyNew=true` and specify a unique `stateStoreName`, for example `trending-keywords-project1`. The Actor will use the same **named** Key-Value Store across runs; repeated country/query/start-time combinations are skipped. Do not share that store between unrelated jobs.

### Limits and billing

- This product retrieves **only the top RSS subset (typically up to 10 per country)**, not full Google Trends Explore data, percent growth, a complete daily list or all regions.
- Uses `https://trends.google.com/trending/rss?geo=US` and analogous 2-letter countries. No authentication, browser, paid external API or residential proxy.
- Dataset rows are billed only when `Actor.charge('trend-result')` confirms `chargedCount=1`; failed upstream countries and skipped previously seen rows are not charged. Errors live in `OUTPUT`, not the paid Dataset.
- The official Apify PAY_PER_EVENT price is **$0.0005 for each successfully delivered `trend-result` Dataset row**. No second automatic Dataset-row charge is configured. A result is charged only after a successful Dataset write; skipped duplicates, source errors, empty results, and Dataset write failures do not create a successful paid event.
- Private cloud verification: Build `0.2.1`, Run `yYGHUZNJWXB7yZHK8` returned one valid US RSS trend, with one Dataset row, `OUTPUT.delivered=1`, `OUTPUT.billed=1`, `billingFailures=0` and `chargedEventCounts.trend-result=1`. This is a developer validation run, not evidence of external customer revenue.
- This README is an updated **release candidate**; as of the above verification the Actor remained **Private** and had not yet been assigned a production `latest` build. Pricing configuration and Private validation do not mean the Store listing is public.
- This is an independent tool, not affiliated with Google.

# Actor input Schema

## `countries` (type: `array`):

1–10 two-letter country codes; for example US, GB, CA. Returns only the public RSS subset, not all Google Trends searches.

## `maxResultsPerCountry` (type: `integer`):

Maximum emitted rows per requested country (1–10). RSS commonly provides up to 10; this is not a full trending list.

## `maxTotalResults` (type: `integer`):

Hard cap on the total number of trend rows emitted across all requested countries.

## `onlyNew` (type: `boolean`):

Remember previously emitted country + term + start time in this Actor's key-value store; repeated trends are skipped. For scheduled runs, reuse the same storage.

## `stateStoreName` (type: `string`):

Required only when onlyNew=true. Reuse a unique named Key-Value Store across scheduled runs. Keep names separate between customers/projects.

## `includeNews` (type: `boolean`):

Whether to include the public news links supplied in the RSS feed when available.

You can run this Actor programmatically using our API. Below are code examples in JavaScript, Python, and CLI, as well as the OpenAPI specification and MCP server setup.

## JavaScript example

```javascript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
// Initialize the ApifyClient with your Apify API token
// Replace the '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>' with your token
const client = new ApifyClient({
    token: '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>',
});
// Prepare Actor input
const input = {
    "countries": [
        "US",
        "GB"
    ]
};
// Run the Actor and wait for it to finish
const run = await client.actor("bin_ai_tools/google-trends-trending-rss").call(input);
// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
console.log('Results from dataset');
console.log(`💾 Check your data here: https://console.apify.com/storage/datasets/${run.defaultDatasetId}`);
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
items.forEach((item) => {
