## Changelog

All notable changes to this Actor are documented here.

### 2026-10-12

#### Fixed

- **A run that could not read Walmart no longer looks like "no results".** If
Walmart does not return a readable page and nothing could be collected, the
run now fails with error `WMT-2010` instead of finishing successfully with an
empty dataset. A search that Walmart answers with zero matches still finishes
  successfully.
- **Dead category links are named.** A category link that Walmart no longer
has (for example `/browse/food/3000`) now ends with a clear message naming
the link and asking you to replace it with a current category or search link.

### 2026-10-11

#### Fixed

- **Start URLs now work.** Paste a walmart.com search page (with any sort,
price range or filter you set on the site) or a `/browse/` or `/shop/`
category page, and the run returns exactly that result set. Paste a product
page (`/ip/...`) and the run returns that product with full details. A link
of any other kind (another site, a cart or store page, a department landing
page) now stops the run with error `WMT-1002` naming the link, instead of
  quietly running a different search.
- **Your maximum cost per run is respected.** The run now delivers as many
products as your cost limit pays for and then finishes successfully, instead
of being stopped by the platform mid-run. In incremental mode, products held
back by the limit are delivered on the next run rather than being skipped.

### \[0.1.4] - 2026-08-10

#### Changed

- **Prices cut.** A product now costs $0.0009 instead of $0.002, and the run
start charge drops from $0.001 to $0.00005. Detail enrichment is charged
separately at $0.0009, so a fully enriched product costs $0.0018 — still below
the previous flat rate, and search-only runs are less than half of what they
were. Platform usage stays included in the price rather than billed on top.
- Detail enrichment is charged only for products that actually came back
enriched. A product whose detail page could not be read is billed as a plain
  search result.

### \[0.1.3] - 2026-08-09

#### Changed

- Large runs now deliver progressively — results are written in batches while
the run is still going, instead of all at once at the end. Memory use no
longer grows with the size of the result set, and a run that is aborted
part-way keeps what it had already written. Runs of a few hundred results
finish in one write, as before.

### \[0.1.2] - 2026-08-09

#### Changed

- Detail enrichment now runs on the same faster path as search, so runs with
`includeDetails` finish sooner. The page falls back to the previous method
whenever the fast path is unavailable, so no field is lost.

#### Added

- Products now carry the full specification list (36 entries on a typical
laptop) where previously only the shorter highlights list was available.

#### Fixed

- `model` is populated again on products whose detail payload omits the field.
- Product variants are reported for every product, not only those whose detail
  payload used the older format.

### \[0.1.1] - 2026-08-08

#### Changed

- Keyword searches now run on a faster path: results come back in about a second
instead of a browser page load, so runs finish sooner and cost less. Searches
that use a start URL, a sort order or price/brand filters are unaffected and
  keep the previous behaviour.

#### Fixed

- `emitExpired` now actually delivers the listings that disappeared since the
previous run. It previously updated the run's state but emitted nothing.
- Runs on small memory settings no longer risk being killed without an error
message while collecting large result sets.

### \[0.1.0] - 2026-08-06

First release.

#### Added

- Search Walmart.com by keyword, by category or search URL (`startUrls`), or by
product link / item ID (`productUrls`). Search URLs are used verbatim, so
filters, sorting and department pins set in the URL are preserved.
- 57 output fields per product: prices (current, was-price, savings), star-rating
breakdown, review counts, recommended percentage, seller name and ID,
fulfilment type, availability, UPC, model, brand, category path, images and
  return policy.
- Optional detail enrichment adds the long description (text, HTML and markdown),
the full image gallery, UPC, model and the rating breakdown.
- Incremental mode reports what is new or changed since the previous run. Runs
with different search settings are tracked separately.
- Notifications to Telegram, Discord, Slack, WhatsApp or a custom webhook.

#### Notes

- Product links resolve by item ID, so the same product reached through different
  URLs is fetched once.
- Review *summaries* are included with every product. Full review texts are not
  in scope for this Actor.
