## Pricing

from $0.25 / 1,000 review scrapeds

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## App Store + Google Play Reviews Scraper (Ratings, Replies, Versions)

Get app reviews from **both** the Apple App Store and Google Play in one run. Each review comes with its star rating, title, text, date, app version, reviewer, helpful votes and, on Google Play, the developer's reply. Paste app URLs, IDs or package names, or just search by name. Filter by stars, date or "has developer reply" and pull from many countries at once. **You only pay for reviews returned.** Summary rows, failed inputs and filtered-out reviews are free.

### Use cases

- **Competitor research:** see what users love or hate about rival apps on both platforms.
- **Product and QA:** catch crash and bug complaints by app version, or pull every 1–2★ review since your last release.
- **Support and reputation:** track how fast and how often developers reply (Google Play).
- **AI and sentiment analysis:** clean, deduplicated review text in many languages, ready for LLMs and BI tools.
- **ASO:** compare ratings, histograms and installs across apps and countries.

### Input

| Field | Default | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| `apps` | – | One per line. `https://apps.apple.com/us/app/.../id324684580`, `324684580`, `id324684580`, `https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.spotify.music` or `com.spotify.music`. Both stores can go in one list. |
| `searchTerms` | – | e.g. `habit tracker`. The top `searchResultsPerTerm` (3) apps per store are scraped. `searchStores` picks both, App Store only or Google Play only. |
| `countries` | `["us"]` | App Store reviews are per country, and each country is its own feed. Google Play uses the first country as the storefront. |
| `language` | `en` | Google Play review language (`de`, `ja`, `pt-BR`...). |
| `sort` | `newest` | `newest` or `mostRelevant`. Use newest together with a date filter, because paging stops early. |
| `stars` | all | e.g. `["1","2"]`. Runs server-side on Google Play. |
| `sinceDate` | – | `2026-01-01` or `30 days`, `6 months`... |
| `maxReviewsPerApp` | 500 | 0 = no limit. |
| `onlyWithReply` | false | Only reviews the developer answered (Google Play). |
| `appleUseBothSorts` | true | Merges Apple's "recent" and "helpful" feeds for up to about 1,000 reviews per country. |
| `includeAppSummary` | true | One free summary row per app. |
| `includeFailedRows` | true | One free row per input that returned no reviews, with the reason. |
| `maxChargedReviews` | 0 (no limit) | Hard stop on the number of charged reviews. |
| `maxConcurrency` / `requestDelayMs` | 3 / 400 | Polite pacing per store, with automatic backoff on 429 or 503. |

Example:

```json
{ "apps": ["324684580", "com.spotify.music"], "countries": ["us", "gb"], "stars": ["1", "2"], "sinceDate": "30 days", "maxReviewsPerApp": 1000 }
```

### Output (one row per review, abridged)

```json
{
  "rowType": "review",
  "status": "OK",
  "store": "googlePlay",
  "appId": "com.spotify.music",
  "appName": "Spotify: Music and Podcasts",
  "country": "us",
  "language": "en",
  "reviewId": "31dd5f9b…",
  "rating": 2,
  "text": "I don't know what you guys did in the last update, but now when I listen to any …",
  "date": "2026-09-18T06:24:22.532Z",
  "appVersion": "9.1.82.2160",
  "reviewerName": "Jane D.",
  "thumbsUp": 406,
  "hasReply": true,
  "replyText": "Hi! For more information, visit support.spotify.com and sear…",
  "replyDate": "2026-09-18T15:50:44.632Z",
  "replyAuthor": "Spotify AB",
  "reviewUrl": "https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.spotify.music&reviewId=31dd5f9b-bd5f-4e2f-9465-71f707e14285",
  "charged": true
}
```

App Store rows also include `title`, `voteSum` and `voteCount`. Every row has `reviewerId`, `reviewerUrl` or `reviewerAvatar` when the store provides them, plus `appUrl`, `inputUrl` and `scrapedAt`.

**Free app summary row** (`rowType: "app"`): name, developer, average rating, rating count, review count, star histogram, installs (Google Play), price, genre, current version, release and update dates, developer website and email (Google Play), and store URL.

**Free error rows** (`rowType: "error"`): `INVALID_INPUT`, `NOT_FOUND`, `NO_REVIEWS`, `NO_MATCHES` (your filters removed everything), `REPLIES_NOT_AVAILABLE` (App Store with `onlyWithReply`), `BLOCKED` and `RATE_LIMITED`.

The `RUN_SUMMARY` key-value record holds totals per store, duplicates skipped and failed inputs by reason.

### Pricing (pay per event)

One `review` event per unique review returned. Nothing else is charged.

| Tier | Per review | Per 1,000 reviews |
|---|---|---|
| FREE | $0.0004 | $0.40 |
| BRONZE | $0.00035 | $0.35 |
| SILVER | $0.0003 | $0.30 |
| GOLD | $0.00025 | $0.25 |

The run stops cleanly when it reaches your max total charge or `maxChargedReviews`. It's fast: about 1,000 reviews take a few seconds at the default 256 MB.

### Limitations

- **App Store:** Apple's public review feed returns at most 10 pages × 50 = 500 reviews per country per sort. With both sorts merged that's about 1,000 unique reviews per country, and adding countries gets more. Apple's feed has no developer replies and no review language. The rating histogram is Google Play only.
- **Google Play:** reviews are grouped by `language` more than by country. Very large pulls (100k+) work but take minutes.
- Reviews are deduplicated within a run. Reviews that were deleted or edited after scraping won't match the live page.
- Only public data is collected, with no login. Use it in line with the stores' terms and applicable privacy law.

# Actor input Schema

## `apps` (type: `array`):

One per line: App Store URLs (https://apps.apple.com/us/app/spotify-music-and-podcasts/id324684580), Apple IDs (324684580 or id324684580), Google Play URLs (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.spotify.music) or Android package names (com.spotify.music). Mix both stores freely. Duplicates are skipped.

## `searchTerms` (type: `array`):

Find apps by name or keyword, e.g. 'habit tracker'. The top results per term are scraped like any other app.

## `searchStores` (type: `string`):

Which store(s) search terms run against.

## `searchResultsPerTerm` (type: `integer`):

How many top search results to scrape for each term in each store.

## `countries` (type: `array`):

Two-letter country codes (us, gb, de, jp...). App Store reviews are per country, so each country is a separate review feed. Google Play uses the first country as the storefront; its reviews are grouped by language (below) more than by country.

## `language` (type: `string`):

Google Play review language, e.g. en, de, ja, pt-BR. App Store reviews come in whatever language each reviewer wrote.

## `sort` (type: `string`):

Order reviews are fetched in. Newest is best with a date filter (paging stops as soon as reviews get older than it).

## `stars` (type: `array`):

Leave empty for all ratings. Filtered-out reviews are not charged. On Google Play the filter runs server-side, so deep 1-star pulls are fast.

## `sinceDate` (type: `string`):

Absolute (2026-01-01) or relative (30 days, 2 weeks, 6 months, 1 year). Older reviews are skipped and not charged.

## `maxReviewsPerApp` (type: `integer`):

Stop each app after this many reviews (across all its countries and star filters). 0 = no limit. Apple's public feed tops out at about 500 per country per sort (about 1,000 with both sorts); Google Play goes much deeper.

## `onlyWithReply` (type: `boolean`):

Keep only reviews the developer answered. Google Play only; Apple's feed doesn't include replies, so App Store apps get a free REPLIES_NOT_AVAILABLE row instead.

## `appleUseBothSorts` (type: `boolean`):

When the first App Store feed is full (500), also read the other sort order and merge, deduplicated, for up to about 1,000 reviews per country.

## `includeAppSummary` (type: `boolean`):

One free row per app (rowType = app): name, developer, average rating, rating count, star histogram (Play), installs (Play), price, genre, version, release and update dates, store URL.

## `includeFailedRows` (type: `boolean`):

Invalid inputs, apps not found, blocked or rate-limited requests and apps with no matching reviews each get one free row (rowType = error) with the reason.

## `maxChargedReviews` (type: `integer`):

Stop the whole run after this many charged reviews. 0 = no limit (the run's max total charge setting still applies).

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

How many apps are scraped at the same time.

## `requestDelayMs` (type: `integer`):

Polite pacing per store host. Rate-limit responses back off automatically.

## `requestTimeoutSecs` (type: `integer`):

Maximum seconds to wait for each HTTP request before it is retried or marked failed.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Not needed for normal use. Datacenter proxy can spread very large runs; residential groups are ignored.
