## Pricing

from $2.24 / 1,000 posts

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

**Reddit Scraper** extracts Reddit posts and comments **without a Reddit account, API key or proxy settings**: keyword search across all of Reddit, any subreddit's feed, any user's posts, and every comment of a post with score, depth and parent. **$3.2 per 1,000 posts or comments, no start fee.**

### What can you scrape?

- 🔍 **Search** — posts for any keyword or search expression (`"exact phrase"`, `AND`, `OR`), sorted by relevance, hot, top, new or most comments, filtered by time (hour → all time).
- 📚 **Subreddits** — the hot, new, top, rising, best or controversial feed of any public subreddit.
- 👤 **Users** — the posts a user submitted, newest or top first.
- 💬 **Comments** — every comment of a post with author, score, depth and the comment it replies to, in Reddit's best, top, new, controversial or old order.
- 🔔 **Monitoring mode** — schedule it and get only posts and comments that are new since the last run.

Use it for brand monitoring, market and product research, lead generation from niche communities, sentiment analysis and training data for AI.

### How much does it cost?

| Row | Price |
|---|---|
| **Post** | $0.0032 — $3.2 per 1,000 |
| **Comment** | $0.0032 — $3.2 per 1,000 |

No start fee, no proxy or compute charge on top. Error rows are never billed. **Maximum rows per run** is a hard ceiling on the bill.

Other Reddit scrapers in the Store charge $1.15–$4 per 1,000 results. 100 posts cost $0.32.

    "timeRange": "month",
    "maxResultsPerInput": 100
}
```
### ⬆️ Output
```json

    "id": "t3_1o1zliv",
    "title": "Our fail with Indonesian visa and how not to be stupid",
    "text": "Hello all, \n\nour 2 week dream vacation in Bali, the Gili Islands and Lombok turned into a 1 week one and loads of stress because we (me E…",

Comment rows carry `text`, `author`, `score`, `depth` (0 = top-level), `parentId`, `replies`, `postTitle` and `url`. Export as JSON, CSV, Excel or HTML, or read by API.

### FAQ

#### Do I need a Reddit account or API key?

No. Paste keywords, subreddits, users or post links and run. No OAuth app, no rate-limit juggling.

#### Why do subreddit rows have fewer fields than search rows?

Reddit's subreddit feed does not include the upvote ratio, subscriber count or NSFW flag. Search and user rows have them. Every row has title, text preview, author, score, comment count and date.

#### How many comments can I get from one post?

All the comments Reddit loads for the post, page by page, up to **Results per input**. Deep reply chains that Reddit collapses behind "more replies" are not expanded.

#### Is it legal to scrape Reddit?

The Actor reads only public content. Usernames and comments can be personal data under the GDPR and similar laws — have a lawful reason to process them.

# Actor input Schema

## `searchQueries` (type: `array`):

Keywords or a search expression, as in Reddit's search box: <code>iphone 17 battery</code>, <code>"exact phrase"</code>, <code>visa AND bali</code>. Each query returns posts from all of Reddit.

## `subreddits` (type: `array`):

Subreddit name or link: <code>bali</code>, <code>r/smallbusiness</code>, <code>https://www.reddit.com/r/SaaS/</code>. Returns the subreddit's posts in the order you pick below.

## `usernames` (type: `array`):

Username or profile link: <code>spez</code>, <code>u/spez</code>, <code>https://www.reddit.com/user/spez</code>. Returns the posts the user submitted.

## `postUrls` (type: `array`):

Link to a Reddit post: <code>https://www.reddit.com/r/bali/comments/1o1zliv/…</code>. Returns its comments and replies, with depth and parent.

## `sort` (type: `string`):

Search: Reddit's own orders.

## `timeRange` (type: `string`):

Search: only posts from this period.

## `subredditSort` (type: `string`):

Subreddits: which feed to read.

## `userSort` (type: `string`):

Users: order of their posts.

## `commentSort` (type: `string`):

Post links: order of the comments.

## `includeNsfw` (type: `boolean`):

Search: include posts marked NSFW.

## `maxResultsPerInput` (type: `integer`):

Cap for each query, subreddit, user or post: posts per search, subreddit or user; comments per post.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many rows in the whole run — a hard ceiling on cost.

## `monitoringStoreName` (type: `string`):

Give the run a name (e.g. <code>brand-mentions</code>) and every later run with the same name returns <b>only rows it has not delivered before</b>. Empty = normal run.
