## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Tech Stack Detector

Find out what any website runs on. Paste a list of URLs and get the **CMS, site builder, ecommerce platform, analytics, ad pixels, payment providers, live chat, booking tools, CDN and JS frameworks** for each one — plus WordPress version, theme and plugins.

Built for **agencies, SaaS sales teams and lead generation**: filter thousands of sites down to the ones running the platform you sell for.

### What it detects

| Category | Examples |
|---|---|
| CMS | WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, Ghost, TYPO3, HubSpot CMS |

WordPress sites also return `wordpressVersion`, `wordpressTheme` and `wordpressPlugins`.

### Filter by technology

Fill in **Only return sites using these technologies** (e.g. `Shopify`, `WordPress`) and the Actor returns only matching sites. Skipped sites are **not charged** — a cheap way to qualify a large list.

### Typical use cases

- Find every Shopify store in a list and pitch an app or a migration
- Find WordPress sites with outdated versions for maintenance offers
- Check which prospects already use a live chat, a pixel or a booking tool — and which don't
- Competitor and market research: what the market in your niche actually runs on
- Enrich a CRM with platform data before outreach

### Pricing

You pay **per website analyzed**. Unreachable sites, bot-protected sites and sites filtered out by technology are returned **for free**.

### Notes

- Only the homepage and publicly available data are analyzed; detection is based on public markers in HTML and HTTP headers.
- Some technologies are loaded after page render and may not appear.
- Pair it with **Google Maps Scraper** to build a list of sites first.

# Actor input Schema

Websites to analyze — one per line. 'https://' is optional.

## `filterTechnologies` (type: `array`):

Example: WordPress, Shopify, Wix. Sites without any of them are skipped and not charged.

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

How many websites to analyze in parallel.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "startUrls": [
    "https://apify.com",
  ],
  "maxConcurrency": 8
}
```

# Actor output Schema

});

// Prepare Actor input
const input = {
    "startUrls": [
        "https://apify.com",
        "https://crawlee.dev"
    ]
};

// Run the Actor and wait for it to finish
const run = await client.actor("bob-tools/tech-stack-detector").call(input);

// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
console.log('Results from dataset');
console.log(`💾 Check your data here: https://console.apify.com/storage/datasets/${run.defaultDatasetId}`);
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
items.forEach((item) => {
