## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## OpenSooq Scraper — Middle East cars, property & classifieds

Scrape **OpenSooq**, the largest classifieds marketplace in the Middle East and North Africa, across **Jordan, Saudi
Arabia, UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, Palestine, Yemen and Sudan**: **used cars,
apartments and villas for sale or rent, jobs, phones and any other category**. Each listing comes with **price and
currency, city and neighbourhood, structured attributes (year, make/model, kilometres, bedrooms, area, furnished,
rent period…), seller type and verification, posting and expiry dates**. Turn on **"Only new listings"** and
schedule it to get just the ads posted since the previous run.

### Use cases

- **Car dealers and importers**: daily feed of new used-car listings with price, year and kilometres.
- **Property investors and agencies**: rental and sale prices by city and neighbourhood.
- **Price monitoring and market research** across Gulf and Levant countries.
- **Alerts** for a specific category, city and price range.

### Input

```json
{
  "country": "jo",
  "category": "cars/cars-for-sale",
  "cities": ["amman"],
  "maxPrice": 15000,
  "onlyNew": true,
  "maxItems": 500
}
```

Or paste OpenSooq search pages from any country site in `startUrls`, e.g.
`https://kw.opensooq.com/en/property/apartments-for-rent`. Unknown categories or cities are reported in the log.

### Output (example)

```json
{
  "id": "286631148",
  "countryCode": "KW",
  "title": "Apartment for rent in Salmiya",
  "category": "Property",
  "subcategory": "Apartments for Rent",
  "price": 250,
  "currency": "KWD",
  "city": "Hawally",
  "neighbourhood": "Salmiya",
  "attributes": ["1 Bedroom", "One Bathroom", "Unfurnished", "Monthly", "Area: 55 m2", "Fourth Floor"],
  "sellerType": "free",
  "sellerVerified": true,
  "postedDate": "2026-09-04",
  "expiresDate": "24-11-2026",
  "url": "https://kw.opensooq.com/en/search/286631148"
}
```

### Privacy

Most OpenSooq sellers are private individuals, so **seller names, user names, avatars and phone numbers are never
returned** — only the listing itself.

### Pricing

Pay per event: you pay per listing delivered. Filtered or already-delivered listings are never charged.

### Fair use

Uses only OpenSooq's public search pages allowed by its `robots.txt` (no sort, contact, member or gallery endpoints),
with an honest bot user agent and about one request per second. Not affiliated with OpenSooq.
