## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## ✈️ Faremakers Flights Scraper — Pakistan Fares in PKR

Scrape flight fares from **Faremakers.com**, one of Pakistan's largest online travel agencies, for any number of origin and destination airports in a single run. Every origin and destination pair is searched separately and gets its own item limit. The scraper returns one-way or round-trip offers with airlines, flight numbers, times, stops, baggage allowance, seats left, refundability and the full fare breakdown, so you can compare prices on routes from Pakistan to the Gulf, Saudi Arabia (KSA), the UAE, Europe and beyond.

### Why use this scraper?

- 💸 **Fare monitoring** – track the cheapest PKR fares on routes such as Lahore to Dubai or Karachi to Jeddah, day after day.
- 🛫 **Route comparison** – search several origins against several destinations in one run and compare airlines side by side.
- 🧳 **Baggage and fare rules** – see the checked baggage allowance, seats left and refundability for each offer.
- 📈 **Pricing intelligence** – build historical price datasets for travel agencies, airlines and market analysts.
- 🕌 **Hajj, Umrah and diaspora travel** – watch fares to Jeddah, London, Toronto and other high-demand destinations.
- 🧮 **Multi-passenger quotes** – price trips for adults, children and infants in economy, premium economy, business or first class.
- 🔔 **Deal alerts** – schedule the actor and trigger alerts when a fare drops below your target.

| Type | Example input |
| --------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| One-way, single route | `origins: ["LHE"]`, `destinations: ["DXB"]` |
| One-way, many routes | `origins: ["LHE", "KHI", "ISB"]`, `destinations: ["DXB", "JED"]` (6 searches) |
| Round trip | `tripType: "roundTrip"`, `departureDate: "2026-10-25"`, `returnDate: "2026-11-01"` |
| Filtered | `maxStops: 0`, `airlines: ["EK", "QR"]`, `cabinClass: "business"` |

### ❓ FAQ

**Can I search several routes at once?** Yes. Add several origins and several destinations. Every pair is searched separately and keeps its own `maxItems` limit.

**Which currency are prices in?** Faremakers shows Pakistani rupees (PKR). `price` is the total for all passengers.

**How far ahead can I search?** Up to about 11 months. Later dates return no results and a warning in the log.

**Why do I get fewer items than `maxItems`?** `maxItems` is a limit, not a target. A route can have fewer offers, or your filters (stops, airlines) can reduce them.

**What are ground transfers?** Some airlines sell a bus leg, for example Abu Dhabi to Dubai, as a flight number. They are hidden by default so results are real flights; set `includeGroundTransfers` to keep them.

**Does it need a proxy?** Not usually. If runs are blocked from your region, enable an Apify proxy in the proxy settings.

**How fresh is the data?** Fares are fetched live on every run.
